they legit do explain multiple times after the bombs dropped people gave bottled water with using caps as a top then they started to use caps as a trading currency because of the way money wasn’t printed or people made fake money they switched to caps as they couldn’t be made again and thus inflation and other sorts of money problems we have today don’t happen because there are a limited amount of caps in the world

What I dont understand is why the main currency aint Legion coins or NCR dollars at this point so both of those nations has the biggest markets, and since apartenly big institutions accept them it just wild that you have to carry a 5 tones bag filled with caps

@@elmecaniconaranja1126It is much harder to make a bottle cap then it is to make green paper in the post war world, who knows, there may still be some money “printers” left over from pre-war, so it’s simply easier to use bottle caps, due to there specific shape, size and design. @@elmecaniconaranja1126 well for one I was replying to your first comment about how easily caps can be replicated and for second the system where caps as currency has been around longer than the Legion and NCR also the Legion and NCR currency can only be used by those to factions and if the other factions were to use it then that's them basically saying their weaker then the NCR or Legion that's why every other factions uses caps also caps are extremely light in the fallout universe for some reason don't know why though
