Fitting the parts to the Mini-Asanoha frame part one
Просмотров 3683 месяца назад
This is the first of a series of videos on placing parts (leaves) into the Mini -Asaniha frame. As it is a small Kumiko with notches 10 mm apart, it is not possible to put three parts in one space, as is usually done with Asanoha, so one part is placed in one space. Nevertheless, the length of the parts is less than 6 mm. The Kumiko4u jig is safe even when making small parts (^^)

    Hello from Brisbane, I am interested in the jig, I am an experienced woodworker but not an experienced Kumiko worker. I have watched all the videos and subscribed to your Channel. My question is when I purchase the jig will I receive more instructions on how to use it? Even after watching the videos there are a number of things I am still not clear on eg how to set a depth stop and how to set up for frames where all having joints must line up. I hope you can clear some of these things up please.

      Thanks for your comments. Like you, I have a lot of questions about how to use it. I feel that I need to show how to use this jig in greater clarity and detail. I am now making a video that explains in series what this jig can do including the depth adjustment and the notch arraignment. If there is anything in particular that is unclear, I would appreciate it if you could let me know - thank you for your interest in Kumiko4u.

    Hey Ryo! Happy New Year to you & your family. The big package arrived today. My Christmas present to me. I was saving up for this and had put aside some Christmas gift money for it too. The shipping box was in very good condition…. No scrapes or crushed corners. Each parts was carefully wrapped and secured within the carton. I unwrapped all the pieces and each part is perfect. I am quite pleased with the quality of your work, the parts you have Designed and Manufactured are all quite well made. I ordered the “Complete Master Kit & the Main Cutting Board” and it weighed 6 kilograms. (13.2 pounds) The shipment to Ontario, Canada took about 30 days, Regular Postage. Canada Border Services does not collect an import duty on these, but Canada Post charges a $10.00 handling fee and collects the Ontario 13% GST sales tax. Tomorrow looks like a snowy rainy day....... so I'll dive in & set up the jigs. Cheers Jerry Walker Everett, Ontario Canada.

    So you are not chiselling out each groove to a precise depth? That's interesting :) Then I "only" need the jigs and a saw. I have a restored hand plane and some Narex chisels. Now I need the Mitsukude and some angle jigs. Also some wood strips, because preparing them by hand is taking it a bit too far, I think :)

    Quick question aren’t you also sanding your flat surface that your sanding block is riding on making it uneven over time…. Could you use a small block plane on this jig…. Great video, Rob from Deep River,Ontario 🇨🇦

    • @kumiko4u181
      @kumiko4u181 9 месяцев назад

      Hi! The horizontal part of the jig is structured to support the handle of the sanding block, so the angle at which the part is shaved does not change for a long time. If you put a plane on it, it will be scraped off, so it is not designed for such use.
