    I'm surprised that with modern precision computer controlled manufacturing techniques, that the skin panels aren't pre-punched via a CNC punch press or CNC drilling, and that the mating structural elements aren't also similarly pre-drilled when they are fabricated, leading to the elimination of hand drilling holes in the wing structures during assembly. With CNC precision manufacturing, I'd expect that the pre-drilled parts could simply be assembled with all holes already in the exact positions required.

    I think I am missing something here. Why don’t they drill the holes before constructing the whole wing? Why do they drill by hand with no guide to make sure it’s drilling perfectly perpendicular ? This seems to me a problem that doesn’t need to be optimized in the first place.

    What about the thousand gallons of fuel that those wing carries, I dint see any tanks, pumps, lines, returns lines, vents lines, just a well constructed efficient wing.... Nice but it's so obvious that the biggest lie is the one in plane site. Those wings are constructed to be efficient, to make and hold the plane in the air, but to hold fuel. We are been decieve about the real truth about how and what type of fuel the planes are using.... It's called compress air turbines, that the real truth..... Hace a nice day and God bless you all.

      Have you ever been inside an aircraft wing? I doubt it. I have been inside the wing of numerous aircraft. They ALL have wire, fuel pumps, fuel xfer lines, fuel vent lines, fuel capacitive probes, densitometers etc......

He doesn't even seem to realize that there are millions of workers working on aircraft, manufacturing, maintenance, fueling every single day. Seeing all those beefy I-beam stringers (?) really helps me to understand how the top and bottom surfaces can handle the incredible compression and tension forces they do (worry so much about the wings being strong enough during airliner flights that I'm now a little obsessed with wings).

    • @rcairflr
      @rcairflr 5 лет назад

      The manufacturers do extensive loads testing on the wings to make sure they don't break. For anyone not involved in aircraft developement, you would be surprised at the amount of testing that is done on aircraft before they ever go into production. Manufacturers spend billions to test aircraft .
