When you live in a world that is terrorized by a giant demon whale, and you're taught to be subservient to a form of teachings that tell you that ancient machinery is blasphemous, and there is an ethnic group of people who sail around on boats and salvage old machines and use them, and when your brother died because of it all, I guess, yeah, your heart will be filled with anger. I'm not saying it's right. Wakka is a product of his environment. It's great world-building on Square's behalf. Of course, throughout the story, you start to see how he realizes that everything is a lie. From the corrupt Yevon clergy to the false hope that the pilgrimage brings to the people, it's a huge spiral of lies. All so the memories of an ancient civilization can continue to exist out in the ocean.

I love his character development . He ends up giving his son an Al Bhed name that means future.

Yeah, this accurately represents how racism is created. You have a religious teaching that goes against a different value system for one. Let’s not forget that backdrop. You also have that said group is the reason his brother died. It’s pattern recognition. And racism will never go away because humans are pattern recognition machines. It sucks. But the best we can hope for is for character development like Wakka had through the story.

TBF, their busted goal keeper with 18 catch at lvl 1 really makes you hate Al Bhed too during early Blitzball, even a 25 shoot wasn't enough to go past him sometimes.

How did you get the pommel to look more like a dark grey color? In the video It looks like you used the same paint on the pommel as you did with the rest of the sword. Or is that just the lighting?

I know this video is just a joke but this is why Wakka is 1 of my favourite characters because if you see the journey through to the end, he actually does get proper character development and realizes how wrong he was about the Al Bhed and even apologizes to Cid, the Al Bhed leader, in person! It's always great when you see someone, real or fictional, actually come out of something bad looking better.

The blonde girl who is good with machines and has an obvious Al Bhed name was Al Bhed WHAAAAAT
