Making Nordic Runes and talking about the Futhark
Let’s make some runes and talk about the Futhark. The Futhark is the complete series of runes in their specified order. In most Germanic languages, the word rune meant "secret" or "mystery". At that time, each individual rune was attributed special magical properties that have been preserved to this day.
The older (Proto-Germanic) Futhark consists of 24 runes, and the younger (Scandinavian) Futhark was reduced to 16 runes. And there is also the Anglo-Frisian Futhark.
I hope you enjoy watching me making some runes and learning a bit about the them. Thank you so much for watching. If you like my content, please consider subscribing, cause that helps my channel growing. ✨🖤✨

I’m jealous that you have a steady hand to burn in the straight lines. Loved this and all the shared information.
Lovely runes, and thanks for the history lesson!
@@denisewhite1426 Thank you for watching! ✨🖤✨
I loved this! Very informative! Loved the music at the end. Can u please share the name and/or brand of that tool that you used to etch your runes?
@@megadele65 thank you so much! ✨🖤✨ the burning tool is just a cheap one from a store called Action here in Germany. It’s not the best for long time burning because it gets so hot. I just bought a better one from Amazon, but again it’s not a big brand just a random one (yihua 939D-VI Brennpeter) for around 50,- €. It’s one on which you can adjust the temperature. I Hope that helps.
Amazing, ❤❤❤
💖😊
@@TABG1113 ✨🖤✨
Atemberaubend!
Das stimmt. 🖤
Magnificent ❤
Oh my!! This is beautiful 😍!! I'm going there girl!(?) 😂❤
@@TABG1113 we can, it’s not far. 😋
Its stunning 😮🥹✨
Thank you for your honest review! Not too harsh!! We’re always happy to explain our reasons, and take on feedback for future Caskets to improve the experience! 🥰 The black walnut incense holder was actually a free extra for all subscribers this month (we posted about this and sent an email!). We decided to make the scroll a fabric this month so it was more durable, since we figured it would be handled a lot more by those who decided to try learn the alphabet! 📜 We’ve often included less common herbs. 🌿 But as you can imagine, if a herb is hard for you to source, it’s also hard for us given the volume we’d have to purchase 🙈 We’re are always looking for new ethical and sustainable suppliers, so this is something we’re working on. Candles, herbs, incense, spell bottles etc are things that will come up more often, since they’re used so much in the craft! We try to make them as different as we can to keep it interesting (we also always have new people to consider, who haven’t received any from us before!). It’s a hard task to create things that excite everyone, but we do try our best!! We’ll take these notes on board and aim to improve every month for you all 🥰🔮 Thank you!!! Have a blessed day ✨
Thank you for your comment! 🖤 Then I have to say thank you for the extra incense holder, I didn’t read the email in full to be honest, I can’t even remember the theme for the month most times. 😅 so I’m sorry for that. You always do a great job with your items, no complaints at all! You can’t hit everyone’s taste in every box, that’s impossible. In general you really oomphed up your game! 👍 I get that some herbs are harder to source and also are more expensive. Maybe you can put in a few boxes per year no pin or incense but instead a „fancier“ herb? Just a thought, because I totally get the point you made. I really enjoy your boxes and I see that you are getting better and better and I love that for you. ✨🖤✨
@@EmilyVanDerHell Thank you so much!! We really do appreciate everything you said 😊❤
People watch you for your honest reviews so don’t overthink that. This box did give a lot of goodies but I get that you’re tired of getting incense holders. I like the candle holder but it makes me nervous using a wooden candle holder. I know some items are kinda repetitive (especially since you are a regular subscriber) but in all fairness they are items for the given theme. And yes, you are very creative and can definitely create your own besom….and yes I’d like to see that video❤
@@BellaNece thank you so much! Of course there will be repetitive items when you have a box with a certain theme or topic like witchcraft. But there were two incense holder for two boxes in a row. 😅 My main point is the repetitive herbs that I can easily buy in every grocery store. I would love to get something a bit more special than rosemary and mint. That is really my main point. And yes, I will definitely will pimp my besom. 😆
@@EmilyVanDerHellI love it! Pimp your besom!! 😂😂😂
This is the reason I don’t have any subscription boxes. Like you, I grow and dry my own herbs and make my own tools. I have everything I need. If a need comes up, I will find a version of it that I like and spend my money on that. Maybe this kind of box would be brilliant for someone just starting out as long as it had clear instructions, but I can’t see how it would be worthwhile for a more advanced practitioner.
@@mishasnowball-iddon8961 You’re right. But I like to get a little surprise so I probably will keep this subscription for a bit. This is just something that’s on my chest for a while and now it just came out. 😅
@ sorry, I didn’t mean to be judgey. Your comments are totally valid, and the value of receiving a surprise every month shouldn’t be underestimated ✨
@ no no it’s all fine! You’re not judgy. ✨
You can definitely make a prettier broom 🧹 and I think after so many boxes, they can’t think of anything new.
@@Audri_at_Auds-and-Ends I only subscribed to the witch casket so this is actually my first broom, but yeah it’s not a nice one. 😅 But with the herbs …. yes maybe something other than the usual ones please.
Girl, you tell them!😂 I have an incense holder in every room but my oldest sons. And then some tucked away. I understand about the herbs. I do like the pentacle candle thingy. Maybe because of all the subscription receivers they are doing the lowest, crystal, herbs? I can never have enough tigers eye though. Nah, not harsh at all. Honest, you're not a sponsor! ❤😊
@@TABG1113 I believe it’s because of the costs they do certain crystals and herbs, I understand that, but maybe get rid of the pin in every box and oomph up the herb game instead. 😅
❤️❤️❤️beautiful
That's incredible! I don't think I've heard a tree make noises like this before....only my house every night
@@kimberleyroberts2880 I heard it before but this is really loud. Do you have a wooden house? Wood „works“ (we say here), temperature differences make the wood make noises. My house can make noises too, often a loud bang.
@@EmilyVanDerHell there isn't a lot of wood on the external parts of my house. But I think of it as the house settling for the night.
Luv luv luv this!! She had a lot to say!!! 💚🌳
@@SassySoulSisters she did!
Wonder what she's trying to say? Wouldn't it be something if she was speaking to the other trees? Ohmygods, she gets louder and louder!
This was so loud in the quite forest, we heard it from very far away.
The best part of winter is discovering all the things that you can’t see in the other seasons! ❤
@@Audri_at_Auds-and-Ends so true! I see so much mistletoe in the trees, it’s insane! 🖤
So much green in the cold, snowy woods. And red leaves. Huh, now I wonder do I ever see this? I'll go ahead and answer! " no, not that I can recollect"😅. I love these walks!❤

@@kimberleyroberts2880 thank you dear Kimberley. ✨🖤✨or should I answer in German? 😋
@EmilyVanDerHell I'm a New Zealander but know a teeny bit of German (I took it in high school). I use google translate so I can use German correctly to write to you. I do want to relearn German, though.
@@kimberleyroberts2880 oh that’s so exciting! I love the New Zealand accent so much! 🖤 oh das ist so spannend! Ich liebe den Neu Seeländischen Akzent sehr. Deutsch ist eine schwere Sprache zu lernen, glaube ich. Es gibt sehr viele Besonderheiten. I think German is hard to learn, there are so many exceptions. Even I have problems sometimes. 😅 So in New Zealand is summer right now I believe? I’m happy about every Sonnenschein 🌞 that shines down on me right now, it’s so cold! 🥶
@EmilyVanDerHell I know what you mean! It's a bit like English that way. The problem is in the nuances 😝 but finally having someone I can use what I remember and what I learn with is exciting. Danke I don't mind my personal accent since it's less distinctive since I grew up in Auckland but some are so strong depending on where you're from. Yup it's technically summer but it hasn't been that warm yet...I have my fingers crossed because I love the beach and it's been too cold 🥶
@ haha, but I guess I could hear it a bit. 😋 My all time favourite is Scottish, but that is sometimes more like a whole different language. It is like German and then Bavarian German or Schwäbisch German. I don’t understand that German, it’s a different language too. I do understand a bit of Plattdeutsch/Friesisch which is spoken in the north of Germany, course my family is from there and some speak Plattdeutsch. It’s a lot like English. Good night for now. At least for me, it’s almost 12 pm. 🤗😴
Beautiful and magical

Tag Emily. Would you happen to know if I can swap working with Mars For making my war water and work with Freyja instead? Danke Kim
@@kimberleyroberts2880In my personal opinion you can do that, Freya is the goddess of cycles, of fertility and decay, also of war and gold. The color Red for the Norse people stood for gold and red animals for example were sacred. So why not? But I don’t care about „rules“ anyway, do what feels right for you and it will work. And this seems to be a good idea.✨
@EmilyVanDerHell thank you lovely x
