Just a quick update on the Rzr project. Not much movement but got a few bits worked on. Made a crap-tacular rear bumper and progressed a little further on the wiring fiasco. Just gonna give it a bath to limit the amount of dirt in my face as I dig deeper into it.
Switch Panel Upgrade

Adding a switch panel to the dash of the utv. I also added a fuse and relay box into the front under hood storage compartment. Now I just need to rewire the utv correctly. Good thing I took this project on first because the wiring was a mess and potential fire hazard. #polarisrzr #rzr800 #polaris800s

An evening wheeling on Lake Erie in Conneaut, OH with the fine people of Simpson's Family Jeeps. Day was quite breezy and damp from off and on rain but a good evening none the less. Good people and plenty of different jeeps to check out.

My first foray into making a video. This footage was taken with a GoPro Hero 3 Silver. I edited out most of the stoppages to keep it short. My CoDriver was nervous with some of the obstacles so she was picking them. The highway footage at the end was varied at 3 speeds and I did some splicing just to mess with it some. I also varied the image quality a little just to see the end result. Hopeful...

We arrived around 9am and I finished the obstacle course at about 12:30pm. Notice how many more people arrived. There were tons of people every where. On the course at about 3min mark, a green TJ tore his steering box off the frame. I pass him by 4:30 mark and he and his CoDriver walk out at about 6min mark. In actuality it had taken 10 minutes to drive that section. My uncut footage of the obstacle course was almost 20 minutes long.
yeah sorry about the wait, I'm that guy in the green jeep. Jeep was completely immobile. Trust me, I felt bad.
Stephen Nolan Was it in fact the steering box that came off the frame and did you get it mobile again? I was not concerned about the actual time to get through the course. I was merely pointing out the fact about my crappy editing work and using your particular incident as a reference point. And it could have been worse, no one was hurt and you made it back home safe. I hope to see you out there next year!
Mechanicalmayham Yup. I snapped 1 bolt and two of the mounts quickly followed. I had to get pulled outta there by the excavator. But it was a ticking time bomb anyways. power steering gear box was not made for it that frame. (98 gearbox on an 06 frame. Mounts did not line up, but we made it work) But as of a few days ago I found a replacement and a correctly fitting one this time. I'm going to fab up a brace to prevent this from happening again.
