Why do people teach that you need carbon steel to strike a ferro rod? That is not true! And these people are supposed to be survival instructors. Please know what you are talking about before you teach others.

@@jamessimmons4808 Oh James… such negativity. Most instructors recommend using or buying a carbon steel knife not just for ferro rod capabilities. There’s other great reasons to have a carbon steel blade. For one you can’t get sparks off of stainless when striking flint/rock. Please be kind… I welcome your expertise but not the negativity. God bless

Excellent information here. 👍🏼👍🏼 I’ve used the PACE method ever since I first heard about it. Most channels don’t talk about it at all. Flint and steel is my favorite method. And is my primary unless the weather is bad. This video didn’t go into the f/s method or using a magnifying glass. Both of these are in all my kits.

@@arctodussimus6198 Thanks so much! PACE is definitely a must for survival. We definitely use the flint and steel, magnifying glass and friction fires as well. We’ll be putting out a ton of content in the near future on those subjects as well. We greatly appreciate the views and comments! All the best and Be safe!
