Brian Connor Winter Voices Submission (F#3)
Location: Glasgow/Forres
My younger sister is a much better singer than me, however she is also a high risk individual for COVID and has been sheilding since long before the lockdown was officially put into place. So to get around this I recorded her over FaceTime. There were a few technical challenges this presented such as the compression Apple employs during sustained volumes which took some editing to compensate for. I then added some layers myself of a fake trumpet sound we each make with our mouths as an inside joke and drenched it in reverb. x

For a 4th year module of my degree. The brief was for a completely original horror/thriller title sequence to be shot, edited and dubbed from scratch. This example includes some library sounds which were heavily edited but 90% of the audio was created just for this sequence

Guitar Rig 5 was what I was working with at the time. If I remember correctly it was based on the "Slipmat" preset

That was perfect! Well done for getting a good heavy sound from single coils. I like the way your head moves exactly with each accented note. Now I'm off to learn this on my weird tuning that I insist on using.

Sebastian G. Haha cheers man. It was a while ago but I would guess it was my usual classic mode on the Sub N Up, 50% volume on the low octave with 100% volume on the dry. Hope that helps x

Hey dude, could you show a video of the deboxing of the Hayden and exactly how you've managed to use your marshall for the speakers? Basically a video covering taking the Hayden out of that sleeve it comes in and everything you did before you hit press on the record to this video? (for those dumbshits like me who don't know how to set things up properly! i just got the focusrite 2i2 and guitar rig 5, but the sound is poor, do you have any advice ? and what preset are you using
Sorry man I only just saw this. Im not sure what my signal chain was because the project file is on an old computer and I've switched over to BIAS now, but I found there were a few presets in Guitar Rig 5 that i messed about with a bit to get to sound right. They were always very simple though So long as you're not clipping the input on the 2i2 that shouldn't be changing the sound too much. Hope that helps
