Nissan Altima Rear Suspension Air boost install Review

"Air Spring Helper Kit" I added these air pillows to my rear springs on my Nissan Altima. They were very easy to install and work about as well as you would expect for a $100 upgrade. They claim that adding these air pillows to your springs and inflating them to 35 psi adds about 1000 lbs of carrying capacity to your springs so they aren't bottoming out on speed bumps etc. I'm a regular custome...

Indmar 5.7L Engine oil pump prime on Moomba Outback 2002 boat and engine timing
Not normal.
Thanks for this great video…👍👍 One question: when we are increasing rpm to check the total timing curve, that bypass socket has to be still in or needs to be removed?
Put shunt in place while setting timing
what are the odds you can answer a comment 10 years later? i need help BADD!!
@@imBarty pretty good
@@forest_dweller_2how do you keep the injectors firing with the shunt plugged in?? is this boat a TBI motor?
@imBarty the shunt was for the ignition system, not the fuel system. If you aren't getting fuel have you tried starting it up with starter fluid to prove your ignition and compression? If you get a good start with starter fluid you can then switch to troubleshooting your fuel delivery
@@forest_dweller_2 my fuel delivery and everything is perfectly fine. when i plug the shunt in to set the timing and go to start the engine the shunt turns my injectors off therefore won’t let the engine run to set the timing.
@imBarty that sounds really aggrevating! ... so... honestly, when i used this method, it was so / so... i ended up having some problems of my own and abandoned the shunt method. From memory, i got it close enough to start without the shunt and then power tuned it by ear. Shhh dont tell anyone
Thank you, 7 years later and this is the only video i've found talking about the 01J gear selector. Thank you so much brother, wish you all the best 💪🍀
Aww yeah! Thanks for the post! Glad it helped!
Thanks man couldn’t figure it 😂

Why not??
is there a kit you used to rebuild your servo? i have a 47RE that goes into reverse but wont move much until put in 4LO and im trying to figure out what the problem is, both bands have been adjusted and filter changed, could it also be a worn reverse band?
I have the same problem with my durango and i think i used the wrong seal. When i bench tested it with air it had some bleed through but i didnt have enough experience to know if it was allowable. When i got jt together it would only go forward in 4L and seemed to be slipping. I think the bands were adjusted perfect and the issue was lost seal pressure. I parked it till i get the Motovation up to do that durango again because 4wd sucks and the frame is so tight its a nightmare down there. So yeah, if you can do the air test and see if it bleeds or sets solid
@@forest_dweller_2I have a 46re in my 99 ram van and it's not upshifting to 2 or 3 when hot??? It'll shift perfectly when cold thru all gears??? Would you have any advice fir me??
@Bseries_Vans yeah, for starters if you want you can just drop the pan and remove the servo housing and service it to see if its gummed up in there. I wouldnt be surprised though if you have to pull the tranny and replace your friction disks / have a broken retainer. I found out there someone has a checksheet of symptoms / problems / likely causes but best bet is to just plan to pull the tranny and rebuild it
@@forest_dweller_2 okay thanks would I need like a master rebuild kit or something to that nature
ok but my issue is if i adjust it to get fifth gear i cant get reverse anymore
You have to hit the sweet spot. Only a tiny tiny movement makes a big difference. Try again with micro movement. Try putting colored tape or magic marker on the cable then move it less than 1 eighth of an inch. Plan to try three times. Let me know if it works or not.
Thanks Yogi. I need these but wasn't sure about them. Now I am. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the comment! Glad to know it wasn't a waste of time making the vid and helped someone!
Hey can i ask a question?
That was a question! Want to go for one more!?
@@forest_dweller_2 sure i got weak reverse works a bit in 4low any of the things you pointed out in the vid could be the problem?
@@jordanmercredi3740 in my case putting it in low really helped to be able to limp move but it still wasn't really drivable.
@@jordanmercredi3740 after that video I rebuilt the servo and it worked like a champ. However i would have to review it to see if that same servo is involved in the reverse circuit
@@jordanmercredi3740 on thing is for sure if your air test bleeds like mine does in the video, it's bad and you need reseat or replace the seal
Thanks to @Curmudgeon Transmission for helping me get this sorted out
what was it? is it normal?
@@robkelley1311 it wasn't normal, it was too leaky. I took it apart and rebuilt the servo now it's working like a champ
@@forest_dweller_2 what were your symptoms when it was in truck??
What were your symptoms when it was in the truck ?
@KeithSpencer-q2w it was quite a while ago... i think it was smoking and stuck in first. Problem ended up being in the servo control pack, reversed one servo. Didnt even need to remove the tranny again to fix it but i didnt know that then... Hind sight is 20/20
Thanks for the video, very useful,i had forgotten which ones to shunt and where to apply the 12 V; i have wires made up with small alligator clips, one can use that taking care *NOT* to short B to C.
Did it work for you?
@@forest_dweller_2----- Yes it did, thanks, and it will again soon,a customer called,he has a 28 footer with a Yamaha V8 ( yes, they marinized them, late 90s and 2000, i think,of course it's still the old GM 5.7 liter,or 350) that lacks power, and it's hard to go up on plane, and **one** of the few usual things that i will be checking,is of course ,the spark timing.
@@josepeixoto3384 So glad to hear it worked for you! Finally some satisfaction after posting this video six years ago!
What is the purpose of connecting to 12v and how do you actually adjust the timing?
Just noticed this is 3 year old. Just the same Kudos on a first melt. When you start green sand casting try to use previously cast aluminum. Extruded aluminum does not cast as well. I don't know much about wood or charcoal foundries but I'd suggest looking at a waste oil furnace. I am currently running a ceramic blanket propane furnace. Cold to pour is under 1/2 an hour with a naturally aspirated burner. I use a wood fired melter to scrap aluminum wheel rims and other large objects. Idea is not original to me. Just a open barrel on a grate suspended over water. Fill half full of wood with aluminum wheels in the top half. I am wondering how effective the earth insulation is. How long did your melt take?
Thanks for the tips! Probably about a half an hour once the fire was going
I have a draft air intake that is 5 feet long. It creates a very big draw. Put a 20 foot chimney on top of your furnace and it will turn your drum into a DRAGON! No fan necessary!
I checked your channel to see some of your projects but you didn't upload any yet
Thanks for the idea!
Awesome. Zero dollar designs! Finally! Adding money into the mix is so boring. Great to challenge yourself with whatever junk you can scrounge. Work this way myself as much as possible.
Thanks for the comment!
no sound
@derrick I just checked it and sound is working perfectly for me, so maybe reload the page. Also if you have a specific question feel free to comment here. Just loosen the nut enough to adjust the cable slightly then tighten the nut again and test it. The nut is located beneath the shifter arm. Good Luck!

Hi Yogi, thanks for the video. I went out to set the timing on my 99 mobius and the shunt is in the port already and the harness that fits in there appears to be missing..... any ideas or perhaps were that harness originates from? Thanks! Josh
If you have the shunt its probably wired internally
I like your idea! I'm wondering if the fact that the top opening is so large is the reason why the traditional rocket stove power is not as strong. Maybe if the top was tapered down a bit, you might get more heat. I love your thinking, though!
Darrell Eaker , thank you for your comment! I made a lid but have yet to try it out
Good work !!! Come discover my youtube channel the first video is a oven build with mud . say what you think . thank you
Nice video, I thought it was funny for two reasons. First, you accidentally mentioned my new business "Uppa Tree", and in reference to what I do, which is Second, installing antennas in trees for people in remote locations. Wireless internet, cell phone booster/repeaters, HDTV antennas, solar panels, etc. I would love to hear how this turned out. Also, maybe a link to the cell equipment you used. I use a big shot every day, and true, sometimes you can't get the shot up very high, but then you just double lanyard the rest of the way.
Hi and thanks so much for posting your comment! i just liked your facebook page so I can check out your upcoming posts! The product that the client had was, as i mention in the video, under powered solution. He had the zboost system, similar to this: www.amazon.com/zBoost-ZB575-V-Verizon-Signal-Booster/dp/B00KDZEE5Y, but not that antenna. It worked well for me on my carrier, but didn't work perfectly with his carrier. I was able to access facebook and video where I previously had no signal. However, I think the cable run was nearly 130 feet and had attenuated too much to work with his phone. Here's a reference chart for attenuation: www.w4rp.com/ref/coax.html At first glance on the top row of the chart it looks like not much attenuation for 100 feet. However, that's for the 1M Hz signal range. Since we are talking digital phone signal, LTE band comes in at 1.9 Gig uplink and 2.1 Gig Downlink. So, for RJ6, we are talking about 6DB of loss over 100feet. RF 9913 comes in with only 4.5 db of loss in 100 feet, but it also costs $1.25 per foot. So, for 130 feet, with tax we are talking about $175 in cable alone. Another trouble he had with this install, is that since the tree was so high and he needed the wire short for it to even work, we couldn't get the base near where he uses the phone. It barely reached the bottom of the tree, so he had to walk over to the tree any time to use it which turned out to be impractical. I had bought enough wire to go from the antenna all the way to his house, but then i had keep cutting back the wire until it finally worked. I'm considering installing something like this at my own property and most likely I'll buy a roll of that RF 9913 for myself. If I change carriers I won't need to install the booster, but then i'd lose my unlimited data plan... :P
