Blue Champagne - Jimmy Dorsey - Bob Eberly - 1941
WOOOW !!
I just asked the taxi driver to take the next right to 1937.
Nice vocals ( better than Frank !?! X
Such a beautiful song
There's not many left could follow that x
Love the bass solo in this!
Better than King Cole Singer songwriter original Hoagy Carmichael
Proably Winterhalter or Rene's Orchestra those were big RCA Victor names in those times.
❤❤❤❤❤😊
Great transfer!
The feeling I had the whole year. Love the song
Blue moon you saw me standing alone Without a dream in my heart Without a love of my own Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for You heard me saying a prayer for Someone I really could care for And then there suddenly appeared before me The only one my arms will ever hold I heard somebody whisper "Please adore me" And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold! Blue moon! Now I'm no longer alone Without a dream in my heart Without a love of my own
Thank you! and for the pictures and credits!
NICE!
❤❤❤❤😊
I had this same 78 when I was in high school. What's interesting is that Clinton also recorded it under the title "Glen Island Hop".
This is exciting music
"Confirmed" or not, the trumpets definitely sound like Charlie on lead, and Manny with the solo. A fun record utilizing a somewhat commercialized arrangement (those muted staccato trumpets!) but still delivering some great pre-swing era jazz.
Great voice and good looks too ❤❤❤❤❤!
A bit in the same mood as Flat foot boogie OK, but not superfantastic at the same time.
No idea how this 78 rpm ever got into my collection, I assume I once found it on the daily Brussels fleamarket near the Palace of Justice. As I do no longer have a 78 rpm record player, it's nice to be able to listen to it here.
Nice instrumental and vocal. Thanks for sharing.
A tribute to Johnny Ace who killed himself while playing Russian rouelette.
Another beautiful tune by the Dorsey band; Jack Leonard was a wonderful vocalist!
Here is the link to a video of this piece from the late 30s in which Jimmy Dorsey is backed by his big band: ruclips.net/video/p891bEm7RDk/видео.html In this rendition I am linking to -- which dates about 10 years after the present record, the tempo is dizzyingly fast by comparison!
Thank you for your comment. Jimmy Dorsey was often somewhat overshadowed by his younger brother Tommy. In the video you recommended, he shines as a very skilled saxophonist. As it happens, I will once again be publishing a video with Jimmy Dorsey this evening (Central European Summer Time, CEST), where he can showcase his talent on the clarinet.
Wow!
Such a talent too bad he died so young😢
People need to stop using noise filters on these records. Sounds like it's playing underwater. A little surface noise is just fine, and these records play very cleanly, anyway.
Love the cowbell!
Dud Bascomb's chorus on trumpet in the middle of the record is outstanding!
Just marvelous!
Although very good, Jimmy Dorsey never really reached up to the standards in music performance of his brother, Tommy.
wonderful song...great sound on this upload too, thanks!
It doesn't get much better than this.
Jazz as it should be 😊😊
I like schaftwerk musik
1935
@@SusanSandoval-bz6gw Yea this song and stooges has me wondering why I kno this long forgotten tune. I guess tune remained popular since it was written , to the 50/60s. And I picked it up in the cracks of my brain. Yea memories !!!
Magistral Mix
Maravilloso!!😊❤
Very good! I like it very much
Great Toots Mondello alto on this!
But not the only one.
One of my top versions of this song. Thank you!
👍😃
Insane to know he could sound like this whilst having to be propped up to the mic in a drunken stupor
🎶🎶🎵💃🕺🎵 Love it!!!
Beautiful
Billie and Teddy was a perfect match.
Love the first and the last minute of this song. Upbeat music 🎶
Peewee Russell's picture playing clarinet was not in this orchestra! It's OK.-
