Such a special time away with you dad 🥰
Great video ! Thank you for sharing I need a longer handle for my garden tools, and for my fire pit . I don’t have a lathe, but your way should work for me just fine
Holy moly…the legend…you have made my dad…I’ve wondered about him since Shane started puttin his older vids up
thats a lot of work
Oh I want to visit so bad man…tree man’s paradise..
Did all of this in 1980s. Cold decking with a wooden tree, swing to the water with an A frame.
This song was sung by the great Kim Beggs of Whitehorse, Yukon, last Friday night in Wiarton at the karaoke. Her rendition was beautiful and reminded me what a great song this is. Thanks for putting it on RUclips. Sounding good.
Thank you all!!!!
Another great one!
Beauuuuuutiful! One of my all time favorite songs. :-) Nice to see you all. Greetings from Mexico!
Thanks Paul! I'm a 65 year old timber faller down in California. I love your logging videos and "potluck and music night" is just as good!
Thanks - just trying to make life fun Log Hog.
Paul, thank you so much for doing these videos. They must take a fair bit of time and effort. It great that you have this footage! Shows the older ways, and explains things so that everyone can understand. Please keep it up! Very much appreciated!
There’s some familiar faces in that morning meeting. I’d say that was about the time I was there in 2010 ish. How many of those guys are still working in gold river?
Called a mule train
Stay safe and have an amazing year
Loggers, making it work with the wrong tools for the job is a way of life. Oh we don't have a log loader, says who?, now if ya'll can figure out how to load logs with a spar tree and a 2 drum yarder... (no heel rack for funsies...)
Keep up the great work Paul, love your videos
That timber needs to grow for at least another hundred years.....
You could thank the Raven for my subscription 😮
somebody more talented then me, needs to make one of dem wind vanes, but dudes pounding wedges, maybe have the "tree" weeble wobbling with every hit...
Not only weight considerations but bucking to the right diameters as well. You try to get both spot on for heli.
Death from above. Loggin' is dangerous...ha ha
Ain’t go no gas in it…could it be electricaltricity…?
Flooded..
Thats the apprentice working on it....
Western Forest products must be the island
Gold River area.....
Somewhere in BC I’m guessing
I should have warm my one peace floater in that weather
As a real oldtimer told me, when i was chasing for him many years ago, as he watched a grapple yarder go by, " this isn't logging, it's clearing land". So true.
Lots of trucks have been loaded with a super snorkel, the guys that run them are specialists
Lucky Ernie
I think that makes running a dragline look simple.
20°C here in Palm springs
Well done sir. Remember when............ happens alot.
Brrrrrrrr.
Beautiful view is right
That snorkel looks like it would be a little aggravating
Man those big madills are tall. I’d love to see a 4800 around here in Ky…lol..be badass if man had big tracks of our oaks…put a rotobek head and have a butt n top grapple…
Nice size wood, olden days setting.
You still look pretty springy to me.
Didn't punch a hole in the cab with a log so i call it a win! ha ha
That’s some big wood. I’m not so sure I could fit that one you were bucking onto my little Woodmizer! 🤣 Back in my logging days in the Pine Pass north of PG we’d run into the odd 5 foot butt, usually some overgrown hairy old spruce. The biggest butts were in the bar in town though. Can I say that without one of them coming after me?
So many jobs have disappeared.
❤
I came from NB. Moved to AB. My 2 sister's moved to Vancouver island. Never know where live takes families! I have stories also just from our generation.
NB is a great place we love visiting there.
Close to where my sister is. We get out that way every summer and love it. Nice to see these video's from your perspective

Glad to hear from you and the oppression you show me. I make these videos so people can see what’s really happening or happened in my life. I took lots of video over the years and have them on hard drives. As I find them I will be putting them together for everyone to enjoy. Have a great day Paul
Love this! ❤
