This video is so helpful!
Oh good! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) I love back stitching cursive font!
Hi! I love your designs, they're gorgeous! I've really been enjoying painting backgrounds before embroidering a piece. I completely agree that it feels very therapeutic. I did have a question. When I have attempted painting in matte colors, I notice that it looks very flat and not very nice like your bright colors above. I'm trying to make a starry night sky, but it just looks washed out. Do you have any tips on making the blacks and blues brighter after they're dried?
Hey! Thank you so much for your compliments and I'm so glad you already enjoy incorporating paints into your embroidery pieces! I am only ever doing solid colours in sections when I paint, so I may not be that helpful....but I have found in the past with some paint colours/manufacturers, I have to do 2 or 3 coats of paint to get a more full, saturated look of the colour. Just depends on the type of paint you're using and the brand. I just used orange from the dollar store for my October piece I'm stitching up, and thought maybe it would need a few coats, but only needed one! Just depends for me. Is that what you mean though? Like, just to get it really solid colours?
Great video! I'd love a video on how to fill in the curved lines.
I’m still learning, and the graph counting how many stitches per different stitch is genius!!!
I'm glad it helped you and is making sense! Just know I've been stitching for 8 years now, so never compare your work or progress to anyone else. It's definitely beneficial to learn from others and that's all I try to share on my channel, so I'm glad you enjoyed! There is no right time frame or right way to stitch, honestly. Just do what works for you and looks good and enjoy the process!! ♡
@@andreabeiko It really helps get my frustration out too. 😂😂😂 I’m also a visual learner and have to be a hands on kind of person. Thank you again for this video!!!
I’ve watched a few of your videos and wondered how you knot your work so closely to the fabric on the back…? Thanks!
When you are going vertical are you still doing X’s because when I get to the second X and I place the first / it pulls up thread from the last one? So do you go through a different hole? Or is it through the last one? Does that make sense? I’m using a stamped kit
Hi Colleen! You mean when going vertical with a classic cross stitch (X) or when going vertical doing the straight stitch to outline the larger letters? Either way, you always want to avoid coming up the hole you JUST went through or the stitch won't work and will come undone. Any other hole in the Aida will work fine though :)
@@andreabeiko I mean you when you have made your X and you are going to make your next X do you have to use a different hole altogether because when I tried making them side by side with each other the threads from the first stitch were getting “pulled up” I hope that I am explaining this correctly
@@andreabeiko I could show you want I mean in a video but I don’t know if you would want to do that or not??
I think I might understand it now but I’m still confused on how you put the X’s next to each other either vertically or horizontally without skipping an X. I’m using a pre-stamped kit and I used to be able to do it 20 years ago? Ugg
I needed this so thank you
What program did you get? There are so many of them. Can you recommend?
Hey Sharon! So I create my patterns on graph paper and centre each line by doing a little basic math. Then I add any floral components randomly. When I go to make the pattern to sell, I used to make them by hand in Photoshop *which was not fun lol* and then last year I discovered Stitch Fiddle and absolutely love it :) I pay monthly for a few extra features but there IS ALSO a free version with the basics included!
Your video is great and the designs are so sweet! I'm not an embroiderer but you peaked my interest! I am also thinking my ALMOST 13 year old granddaughter would love doing this, and would keep her from doing less productive activities! Do you advise against putting the fabric onto the hoop upside down so that you can have a hard surface for copying the pattern on the correct side and then remove the pattern fabric and turn the fabric over so that it will be right side up? It sounds like stretching the fabric is a concern, but how big of a concern it it?
Thank you so much Sherry! I am finding lots of tweens, and teenagers are giving embroidery a go, and it makes me so happy :) For them to try something not digital is something I think we should all encourage if they show interest. I used to do all of my transferring in the way you are describing - I just find that the way I do it now, allows little to no changes or stretches from the drawing to final product. But I absolutely think the other way you are mentioning is also fine to do. When it comes to text, I really do suggest doing it as show in this video. It's not that much harder in my opinion - unless eye sight isn't the best, and the pattern is very detailed - then I would do it flat on the surface to make it a bit easier to transfer.
I have a long quotation I want to embroidery. Is it long. How could I set this up and transfer it?
Hey Gail! I use Microsoft Word to create the text - decide on fonts, etc. Then I save it as a PDF and then open it in Photoshop to play around with the placement and put it on the pattern for me to stitch up. I do this mainly because I sell my patterns, so it has to be done 'professionally'. But you could definitely play around with it in WordPad or Word and even use scissors to cut and tape it onto the back of the hoop where you want to transfer it to! Just play around and you'll find a good layout that works for you and the long quote :)
Beautiful mam thanks for the tutorial 😀
Just ordered this pattern. Thank you for your lovely work.
Thank you so much Janet! I hope you enjoy your French Knot piece and hopefully this video helps :)
@@andreabeiko This is my way of getting back into embroidery and I just love the piece.
Your videos are really good and with lots of information ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so so much for saying that! Your kind words mean a lot to me ♡
@@andreabeiko you deserve those words ☺️☺️☺️

Thank you so much!

Thank you!!
Great video! Thanks for this tutorial. Very informative ❤️
Wooww
:)
Could you please share a link to the type of pen you use? Thanks for the video!
I got mine at Walmart here in Canada. I'm sure you can find it online anywhere! Just search Pilot Frixion Erasable Pen :)
www.walmart.ca/en/ip/frixion-point-erasable-pens-black-black/6000098328182 That's it :) Any of the line that shows its Erasable should work! I got the 0.5mm extra fine tip but I'm sure 0.7mm would be fine too!
A blow dryer will remove the lines much easier than ironing. 😃
Thank you! I don't have a working one, otherwise I would definitely have tried that by now 😆🙃 I just use the tip of the iron for now. But I'll definitely invest in a blow dryer soon to give it a try :)
Nic and I are watching you 😊 we both can’t recognize your voice but it’s also been forever since we’ve seen you! Great job w the videos hun! Keep it up 😇
