So the routine is: wash the beard, oil the beard, condition the beard, and use the heat brush. I'm considering purchasing Scotch Porter's beard balm, Scotch Porter's conditioner, and Scotch Porter's oil. I've been growing my beard for 10 months and don't have a decent regular routine. I use shea moisture daily hydration shampoo, shea moisture daily hydration conditioner (rinse out in the shower), and and I alternate using different leave-in conditioners: shea moisture leave-in treatment (after the shower, when my beard is still damp) OR Dax Super Lanolin Hair Conditioner (after the shower, when my beard is still damp). Your thoughts/advice/recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you.

Try hot towel on your head right after you shave. Make sure your hands can take the heat or the towel before wrapping it in your head. I’m black and I struggled with razor bumps for years. I use no chemicals. Not even rubbing alcohol.

I used to struggle with razor bumps but I use a hot towel after I shave to stop that problem. Specifically a hot towel on a bald head. If your hands can take the heat of the towel, so can your scalp. As a negro our hair tents to grow in so the heat on the scalp specifically from a hot towel has helped me best. Blessings my bald brothers.

Witch hazel, pure tea tree oil, and pure aloe vera and in that order after shaving with a rotary or foil shaver is my secret. Works on the head and the face. I use them after washing and exfoliating, too. I shave the dome once a week sometimes twice if the social calendar demands it. Menthol, camphor, eucalyptus are awesome for after shaving. Would have never though of Vick's, though. Good call.!

Realized now, that I had been using same products for maintenance, that I was using when I first started growing it… two different energies.
