A nonbinary amateur translator and cosplayer having a bit of fun with the videos thing, from replaying video games I have fond memories of to trying out some that are new to me. Game selection is kind of all over the place, but I always seem to keep coming back to SNES Zelda.
Learning as I go along and hopefully improving at commentary and editing, plus it seems to be working as vocal practice. And sometimes off-the-cuff translation, depending on the game.
I'm going to be trying to stick to a schedule (times in US eastern):
Monday/Thursday 11:45 am - Main playthrough series (currently Pizza Tower).
Saturday mid to late morning - Streaming something possibly longer, or a posting a one-off sort of video (currently taking a long trip through the Magical Bringer Korona 2 bonus jRPG だんだんダンジョン大冒険)

Pizza Tower - 24 - Don't Make a Sound
Feels like Five Nights at Pizza Tower in here. With some payback at the end.
I find it vaguely amusing that I kept instinctively moving slowly and keeping quiet when not actively being chased. There's something psychological going on here and it's kind of neat.

Something about this feels kind of Castlevania-ish, but not exactly... could be more of a reference to something else. Either way, we've got a haunted castle! It's pretty clear how to get past that line of bowling pin rats near the entrance, you just need to do it while leaving so that the poltergeist is following you to activate the kicker. Maybe that's where the treasure is? And another weird...

I mentioned that the previous boss kind of felt like a mirror match. This one is both moreso and... not. Sure, he looks a lot like you and uses a lot of moves similar to yours, but something about it just feels off. And then there's the end of the fight... First try, though. Not sure if I'm getting better at the boss thing or just got lucky, but I'll take it! Also stumbling across another weird...

Icky sewers with yucky... stuff. (Let's leave it at that. There's no telling what might upset the algorithm.) Rolling into a cheese ball and becoming something like a sticky cheesy zombie, surfing on trash can lids, getting flung around by oversized hands, the return of switchable blocks... there's a lot going on here in the way of nonstandard mechanics. And teenage mutant ninja pizzas? Anyway,...

Robots, conveyor belts, and Peppino finds out what it's like to be the pizza? Also starring enemies with post-mortem counterattacks, grabby hands that function as elevators, and the return of the bomber goblins. And between the ending fakeout and not knowing the level layout very well, I managed to get lost trying to find the treasure. On review, it looks like you need to head up from the trash...

Try saying that ten times fast. Cold blocks and hot cocoa... and it's no wonder the level name is abbreviated in the achievements room. Where I guess this one is the last one listed because it's closest to the boss gate? I accidentally skipped at least a bit of stuff in the room with the first heater by prematurely dropping down instead of exploring the rest of it after melting the ice, but it ...

Sickly smoking pizzas, pigs everywhere, taxi diversions, and rat balloons! There's more going on in some of the taxi rides than I noticed while playing, too. I never did find that "bacon room". Or figure out how to take photos. And what even is a brick ball?

The mascot of Dominoafs...? That felt like it should have gone more smoothly. Part of it was the decoys and all the stuff bouncing around, but honestly? It didn't really seem any worse than the first boss. I dunno. And, no, the Noid was not purple, but red, sometimes with an orange tint. That purple character's outfit, though, with the rabbit-like ears? Very Noid-like.
Pizza Tower - 16 - Golf

What a simple and straightforward name. We're playing mini golf! ...but, of course, it's weirder than that. Basically, any direct or indirect contact you have with the ball Which walks around on its own once activated? And gets sucked into giant noses? counts as a stroke. Depending on the course, ramming into it at full speed often works better than grabbing and hitting it. However, there are a...

Hmm, does Quark's serve pizza? I mostly remember the raktajino... Switchable blocks are a such staple of platformers (and even Zelda) that it's almost surprising they haven't turned up before now. Taking rockets to new areas is neat, but they're definitely points of no return within the level. And flying on rockets within areas, especially taking them through teleporters, is also neat, if a bit...

So how the hell do you parry and hit the little yellow circles with your sword?? If it's that you have to hit parry and at the same time swing your sword well that's ridiculous considering I am using a ps5 controller and that would mean I have to hit circle and Square at the same time. Which is the most awkward and unrealistic crap ever. So upset and I'm not even 30 minutes in.
It's the heal/parry button by itself, but there's a timing to it that can be tricky. Try switching the Parry Input Type under Controls in Settings. I eventually found that using Tap Heal to Parry (Instant) instead of Tap Heal to Parry (Tap) made it feel a lot more natural for me. It also has Crouch+Attack options that I never tried out and might work better for you.
@erifellen you are AMAZING!!! this worked and I didn't rage quit not once in the 4 hours I've played since. Thank you so so much!!
Hi
Hi
best mod ever made by far
It's worth noting that if you wanna get all the achievements for this game (which is pretty hard to do), quite a few actually require the usage of the Lap 2 pizza thingy. Also, you actually did an upwards piledriver at 15:41!
you finally got to my favorite level!!
Whenever you taunt next to a pig npc (with the exceptions being the dancing ones which are more just background decor) they would take a picture of you, unfortunate that you happened to be standing in front of them, that definitely made it hard to notice, lol.
Okay, that makes sense. I guess I just assumed Peppino would be taking the pictures?
I remember playing this regularly in 2016. About 10 or so people still actively played a few times a week. They had their own web based server browser you could see when people were on. I have it bookmarked somewhere but Id have to go through all my old bookmarks.
Hi
6:57 that's the noise's wife!
Rest in pieces Snotty. Also you can actually hit The Noise when he's taunting for that split second in the beginning! It's pretty easy to do as well.
Yo 6 mins!? Im the first one!?!?!?😮😮thats wild
I remember this guy named Firetiger5 used to hack this game by getting full vision of stealthied thieves.
The shoulder bash move you performed after the super jump is just one of those things the game never tells you about lol
Thank you! I never knew this! :)
these videos really help me wind down before i do stuff, and it really helps that your voice is calm and friendly!! i hope you enjoy pizza tower, just as i did when i played it! :)
Thanks! It's been a lot of fun and keeps finding ways to put a twist on things.
you can start a wallrun with no speed if you grab onto a wall while holding run!
Ah, that explains why it acts like a brief wallrun when you try grabbing a wall! I just never though to try holding run during that for some reason.
It was so chaotic at 9:18 lol 😂 Sorry i was late!
That cannon's not kidding around, and the water is full of hate.
@@erifellen true!
GOD
We have thief at home
Very cheesy, get it? Yeah that wasn't that funny
next episode is a boss!
about that I normally kill the 6th boss BEFORE entering the Ice Palace Red Cane makes reaching the Ice Palace boss easier SNES version on the GBA version changed the Ice Palace MAP making it IMPOSSIBLE to reach that switch that you COULD put a Red Cane block on. But on the GBA version you can still kill the 4th Dark world boss first since the lv 3 Sword kills the Skull Woods boss after 3 or 4 hits VS OVER 20 FIRE rod hits.
Enjoying the playthrough so far! Not sure how far ahead you are in the game compared to when you upload these videos but just incase; you performed a Super Taunt when you pressed the Taunt button + UP. You will only have the ability to Super Taunt after getting a combo of 10! After using it you will have to get another 10 combo for another. The Taunt button is also a parry button, taunt right before taking damage to parry. The game does teach you this, but only through one of the specific pizza ladies throughout the hub, which are randomly generated each time you re-enter the floor (meaning you might not see the pizza lady that tells you how to parry...). One small thing, the the janitor/custodian guy is called Gerome! Oddly it doesn't tell you that anywhere in the main game but in previous demos/builds of the game he was called Gerome so that is his official name. Of course, you can just call him whatever you like, lol. Looking forward to more!
Ah, I didn't realize the hints were random. Might have to start paying more attention to those...
this is truly gonna be fun!
it's time to get spooky!
Thanks for these!
Fun Fact: Dale Disharoon was the head developer for the much maligned Zelda CD-I games.
Wow this is rather similar to the 2006 game flow.
Fruity.
yay episode 8 :)
Very good for a new player, deserves a subscriber :) also when youre in the 3rd floor and beat the boss, you should hit peppino 100 times in the place where you choose a save file for a new character :)
underrated :)
those dotted line rings are the "lap 2" portal, beat the level and replay it to actually make it work
And to unlock it you need to beat tutorial in under two minutes
@@A_jordanianguy (This action is only avaliable when you start a fresh save, and unlocks ALL Lap 2 portals, meaning every level can be P-Ranked from the get go, if you're skilled enough to do it on the first run.)
It’s pretty good to learn these differences. They both have their advantages and better uses depending on the situation even if they seem pretty similar at first glance. I tend to like the cane better for bosses or strong enemies for the damage and the cape for quick on-and-off dodges since the initial activation cost is so low, while also being able to use the spin attack for extra damage or crowd control, plus sword beams if available. The cane is a bigger commitment upon activation but drains slower afterwards and the extra hits from the magic circle can help kill things quicker
Cool trick!
Nice Video ! Sub & Like ! And Love Retro Zelda Games !
good video bro
I'm sorry, but you sound like someone IGN would hire...
Thanks
Good job dude keep it up🎉😊
This series is a gold mine.keep up the good work!
Hi I am your first comment🎉
This was a great game that I never got very far into. Mainly, I never knew how to use the other modules that I found. I knew how to plug them in and turn them on, but I never knew what most of them did, or which weapons would be more effective against which foes. I had the C64 version, which ran a little more choppy than this, but was very playable. I wish I could find a version fixed for the SuperCPU, so that the 3D would run faster and smoother, without making everything faster as well.
The way extra modules are handled is definitely one thing I would change about the game if I could. Maybe something more like how Diablo works, where identifying an item gives you essentially complete information on it and you can easily recheck the details whenever you want.
I feel your pain I got so far them got hit because I didn't use the right upgrades
I love the monitors above the window/cockpit canopy. One of my favorite Microprose games, F 15 Strike Eagle, would be great with fractals used the ground terrain. Would be a great home-brew project.
damn what a nerd
YEAH! BEST GAME EVAR!!!
The Eidolon, Rescue on Fractalus, & Koronis Rift use fractal computation algorithms to produce realistic landscapes. Pretty impressive coding for the early 1980s!
It's kind of amazing what a good Atari programmer could coax the system into doing.
Damn, considering I loved Rescue on Fractalus I really wish I had picked this one up at the time, looks like more of what I wanted out of that game
