Hey man, thanks for the video. I´m thinking of getting an ail bullet myself, but I was wondering if you could share the importer to avoid and the one that actually has great and fresh beans. Also do you know if there is a maximum of back to back roast I could do on the bullet?
Would you recommend it for 100kg roasting per month?
Cool. I’m in Ontario. Did you buy the 110v or 220v model. I saw a later video of yours and was wondering how you managed to have that, your shop vac, your venting, all plugged in. Was it all on the same circuit breaker? Why didn’t you buy from Sweet Maria’s vs directly from Aillio? I am thinking of getting one.
Since it's been 2 years would you change anything? Has the fan failed at all with all of that exhaust smoke going through it?
You have a third crack or what..😅 You burn the beans Its black😮
W.T.F You burn the beans
Hi, I hope you are still roasting. Its been awhile for me and my bullet is practically new and I am learning the process all over agian and im very rusty. When you are hook-up to computer when roasting and really like a batch can you replicate it using the computer?
I paid 746 Canadian dollars for tax and duties. Total: roughly around 5748.
Very sweet!
Hey, first of all great video! I am considering buying an aillio bullet at the moment to learn more about roasting and eventually grow that into like a small commercial thing. One thing I've noticed is that the bullet's power setting are only in steps from 0-9 whilst on the big commercial roaster I am roasting on at work has gas from 0-100 where I could choose any setting in between (let's say 73). How does that compare? What if I have to slow down the roast after first crack in order to stay close to my desired end temp but I could only go from P1 to P0. Any experiences or advice? would highly appreciate it. Cheers
Is it okay to use commercial use??
What You use as Venting? Is this applience some source of air filter on venting system? Thanks
Could you tell me or better show me how much smoke went outside of your lovely Roasting room? So I am really interested how much smoke you could see from the outside, cause I am living in in rented apartment and I am not sure wheater I could do it with the same setup as you or if I need a bigger fan with a huge filter. Thanks a lot!
Since you have a vacuum there already have you tried taking the colander bowl and placing it into a box with the shop vac hooked up into the box? I've seen some DIY jobs online that used that to cool the beans in less than a minute while also sucking up the chaff.
What’s the length from the back leg all up to the cooling tray?
Thanks for this Coffee Boy! I hope to buy an Aillio soon. It helped hearing about the quick turnaround time between batches!
Update - I bought an Aillio! It looks like the vent fan I recently installed is similar to yours - 4" AC Infinity. I like your tip of the filter cloth upstream of the fan. Thanks again!
Great video, thanks for sharing!! Also, using filter on the vent to save time on cleaning is a brilliant idea. If you don't mind answering, where did you get that piece of filter sheet? I couldn't seem to find a good one myself. Thanks!!
Sorry for the late reply. I picked it up from Home Depot it was sold in a big sheet and I cut off a small piece when needed.
What kind of scale are you using?
I'm using a cheap taylor scale from Costco. It's not fast but it does the trick. Not sure if I'm happy enough to recommend though.
What’s the name of that software?
It's Aillio's program called RoasTime. They have a separate program called RoastWorld where you create an inventory, find reference roast profiles, and store your own roast profiles
Thanks for sharing! About to order an Aillio Bullet. I may go for the 4 inch fan since yours is plenty powered with the 6 inch.
we need more videos buddy. :)
Nice video👍
I love your videos. You should make more!!
Hi the official bullet site says it can roast upto 3kgs per day? is it true?
Hello sorry for the late reply. I've done up to 10kg in one day with no issues.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aillio. I’m hoping to get one soon. Love your set up.
Hi Coffeeboy, can you teach me how to do Playback roast in Aillio R1V2?
I'd like to hear about, what is the minimum extra that you need to roast inside a home with this roaster. For example most people have some sort of exhaust system DIY'd.
I would say a 4" exhaust fan that goes outside. Or if it's a short enough distance a hose hooked straight to the exhaust that goes outside.
Check out my setup video to see what I did.
You had mentioned in a video that you had been disappointed by the green quality from where you had been purchasing at one point. Can you share who that was? Not interested in finding out the hard way myself.
Green Coffee Co
Where do you currently order your green beans?
Royal Coffee. They are great, good green coffee is a must.
@@coffeeboy971 How much do you typically buy from them and how much does it cost?
Your setup is sick. I have my bullet coming in today, can't wait to build a little setup and start roasting with it - I'm moving on from my Fresh Roast SR800 which I've loved using, just needed more capacity and love the controls and analytics you can get with the bullet. Question: Where do you get your beans from? I'm currently ordering from Sweet Maria's which is fantastic, but is across the country from me so the shipping process isn't ideal.
Hello Matt, congratulations on the purchase you'll love it. I order from Royal Coffee, they have Crown Jewel boxes that are absolutely fantastic. They have tons of info on the beans too that help you get an idea on how the beans will roast so you don't have to waste as much. Let me know how it goes. Thanks
@@coffeeboy971 perfect, thanks for the response. I will definitely check them out in the future - I'm trying to decide which company I like ordering from best, so having variety is helpful.
How have you been liking the bullet since this videos been up? have you learned anything new lately?
Yes I still love the Bullet. I've been using the recipe mode more since this video and decided that I like it especially for beans that are fully dialed in. Also after dialing in more beans I realize how important keeping the same charge size is for the fastest and easiest dial in phase.
Looks awesome. I am waiting for mine to be shipped. Your exhaust setup looks great 👍
I’m curious what fan you use for exhaust and if you notice the smell or smoke still with it? I am thinking about roasting in my basement but not sure if it would be too much smoke still with an exhaust
I use the cloudline s6 and roast in my basement with absolutely no roast smell. My wife doesn't even know when I'm roasting. You do definitely get a strong smell outside though.
@@coffeeboy971 Awesome thanks! After I posted this, I watched your setup video as well. Going to copy your setup, thanks for all the great videos and info.
Hi, liked your video, I noticed the flash A02 mine does that as well, what does that A02 mean?
That is a warning that shows up when you don't press a button for a while. It flashes and beeps for a while then will eventually shut the roaster down for safety reasons. I haven't had it shut off though.
Thanks for your videos dude! I just started roasting with the Bullet and am really enjoying it. Could you do a video on RoR? Like how important is it to avoid the tip and crash thing? Recommendations for different levels of roasts? Full City+, etc.
I've been looking at this as an upgrade from using the Hive Roaster, I can do 150 gram batches in the Hive and I'm planning to use this to roast at least a 3 kilos a day since I tried selling my beans. Is it okay to use for consecutive roasts per day? About 4-6 roasts in one sitting or do you need to make the roaster rest?
Hello, you can roast many consecutive roasts as long as you clean out the chaff collector in-between roasts. I can usually do 4 roasts per hour. You could easily roast 3 kilos in 1-2 hours plus the time it takes to warm up.
I’m looking at buying direct from Aillio Taiwan. Where did you get those diverters to direct the beans into the bowl?
My friend made them out of tin and I just spray painted them black. Took about 5 minutes to make with the right tools definitely worth it.
I’m still thinking about the bullet. Glad I found your Chanel. I really love your setup. The work top is really nice. The exhaust system you made is perfect, great thinking! Also the walls of the basement look really cool on video I wouldn’t change them. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the comment. I don't have anything bad to say about the Bullet yet.
Thanks for showing us the detail of roasting with the bullet, it’s been hard to find. With playback mode, can you make adjustments if things aren’t going well? And if so, does it go back to the program after, or are you fully manual from there on?
Hello Mike, thanks for the comment. You can make adjustments to the roast on the go with payback and it will go back to the program when it hits its next trigger point.
@@coffeeboy971 awesome, thanks! That’s what I’d hoped but you can never tell, and it’s a big investment for a hobbiest :)

Thank you so much for posting this video! I got my bullet this summer but haven't had enough time. Only done a couple of batches so far. Your videos are incredibly helpful! As the colder months arrive I'll be roasting in the basement like you and on the other video you mention your induction fan is a bit overkill. Is that still true? Do you get any smoke inside? What is that filter you added? I hope to get something similar for my basement too. Is your new importer in the US or Canada?
Glad you like the videos. I don't get any smoke or smell in the house at all with the fan I have. I just bought a big sheet of filter from Home Depot that I cut to size and let the air flow of the fan keep it in place. The importer I started using was from the USA Royal Coffee. I've been buying there crown jewels they are a little more pricey but worth it.
Love the videos so far! You should do a series about the process for roasting a new green coffee. It would be interesting to see the initial roast, cupping, roasting adjustments and why they were made
Thanks for the ideas. I'll do this the next time I get new beans.
I have just ordered the Bullet, I also am canadian, just really enjoyed watching you roasting on it!
Congratulations you'll love it!
Just ordered my bullet, thanks for the video!
Congratulations! You'll love the bullet. Thanks for watching!
Looks great! Are you happy with your exhaust solution or do you have suggestions to improve it?
It does a great job for keeping the smell and smoke out of the house. I would recommend having a filter before the fan so it doesn't get gummed up. I do think it's sufficient though and am happy with it.
@@coffeeboy971 cool thnx! Which filter do You have in mind ?
@@coffeeboy971 A year further down the line... Is the setup still great? Is the air from the roaster not too hot for the fan? I'm afraid it will burn the fan inside.. Thanks for shining your light.
Beautiful set up! Congratulations, you’re gonna have a lot of fun with that.
how's the roasting going so far? I recently got access to an ailio and we are doing our seasoning roasts right away!
The roasting is going great! I haven't really had any issues with the roaster itself just the user. I'll post another video with an update sometime.
Carbón?
great setup! any chance you could share some links on the ducting for ventilation?
Hello sorry for the late reply. I added links in the description of the video for you. Thanks for the question.
you burned the bean=)))))))))))))))))))
