After 2 years finally someone commented and it's me :D
Hahah! Thank you for your comment! Things are going slowly on this channel, but that is about to change. Again, I appreciate your comment! Hope to see you on another video soon. Reply
I think, using adjustment layer with Luma Range is easier. Just select highlight range, then rasterize the mask, then use feather or refine or both, then exposure, structure, clarity to liking etc.
Thanks for sharing your tips that is a good tip. Usually, there are many ways of doing things in editing. The point is not how to make the selection but to feather it several times with large to smaller amounts to achieve the exponential glow effect.
@@hbphotos yes, you can repeat that several times on separate layers with different ranges and feather settings, should work as well.
Thanks for your advice 😊
Creating a video of a product you have never used is a complete waste of your time and mine.
@TheBigBlueMarble are you sure? Haven't you ever seen a first impression video of products on RUclips? For your information, I still use this tripod, and I still stand by my thoughts.
@@hbphotos Perfect ...make the video again with your experience and many more people will watch and comment.
but every time you clicked again on the sky, to create a new mask, the feathering you did before that is then LOST. so it makes no sense to do this 3 times, if you keep doing it in the same layer. only the last click and last feathering have an effect. maybe you forgot to create new layers for each new click&feathering???
I have the same question!!!😮
When you feather the mask again, you grow the previous one, too. That is true. But it is not lost. I should have started with a larger feathering first and each time used a smaller value. Sorry if that caused any confusion.
cool :)
Thanks!
very good and informative ,thx
Glad it was helpful!

30L? OR 35L????
Sorry, I wasn't clear. It was 35L. Thanks for asking
Great way using tool in Capture One, easy to be acces! 10x for effort and sharing!

Hamed, Your showing and explaining how the histogram and levels control work together in the snow on the grass image. I never thought of the histogram as a way to determine color balance. I noticed that exact color balance does not have to be perfect when editing the mountain photo. I like the mountain on the left because the highlights were better controlled and the contrast was not too sharp on the rock edges ( crispy). I use Capture One and allow it to auto correct the levels, though other photo artists do not choose to do so. I am a people event photographer, mostly in a Church setting. On a feast day roses are in abundance and I use levels to reduce red saturation. Thank you. Father Dan
Thank you for the comment. I'm so happy you found the video helpful. I agree the original edit is nicer
Good and informative thoughts on the Orton effect. Too bad you never switched on the exposure warning. I suspect the sky is burnt out +255. Avoid hasty movements with the cursor.
Thanks a lot for watching the video and your comment. I really appreciate your advice! About exposure, some clouds in the sky were already over exposed, to begin with. So I think it was a good idea to make the sky brighter to hide the clouds. But I could go lower the exposure of the sky. BTW, this was a glow effect and it has a different purpose compare to Orotn effect.
Yes, but if you have an overexposed sky, you don't have any image information that can't be saved by reducing the brightness or the highlights. Such an image is also not suitable for printing. I also wonder how the edges of the leaves look at 200% zoom. Perhaps with artefacts or aberration.? @@hbphotos
Aberrations mostly took care off with the software. This image wasn't meant for print. It was mostly for demostration perpose
Thanks for the video! I'm comparing both. Tried the 450 AWii a couple years ago but ended up buying the PGYTECH OneMo v1... amazing bag for the price. Cost is the larger prohibitive factor though I think it is the best fit for my needs. Currently looking for a used one. If Shimoda put Molle on the back/sides of the bag it would be perfect... I also own the Tenba Axis v2. Great to have such great choices today!
Thank you for watching and your comment! It is good to know about the other bags. PGYTECH One Mo looks cool, but it feels small for my purposes! I actually bought a Shimoda action x v2 recently and I think I like it. It was on sale and was a good bargain. Let me know if you are interestead in hearing my thoughts about it.
Thanks!!! I’m new in C1 and I’m loooooving it!!
Thank you for the comment! I also love C1
You can't compare pre-Biden prices to the new Bidenonmics prices. The new Lowepro bags are in the $400-500 range.
Nice presentation. I also very happy with the new Ai masks
Thank you very much!
useful, thank you

Very helpful, great tutorial.
Glad to hear that!
Thank you a lot, that video make my day !!
Wonderful. Now your comment made mine!
While LR doesn't have a tool specifically called layers, that is effectively what the masks are. The only tool you can't use with LR masks is the colour grading tool - all the other RAW editing tools are in there. They even work the same was as C1 since any adjustments on a new layer in C1 are not visible until you apply a mask. In terms of levels, you can click and drag within the histogram in the Develop module of LR for similar results. You can also finesse LR masks using luminance or colour. And of course all of this can be saved as an adaptive preset and applied to other images without having to remake the mask every time, because it leverages the AI masking tool.
Lightroom masks and Capture one layers are not exactly the same, but they are getting closer and closer to each other by any new update. Please remember at the time I recorded this video, Lightroom even didn't have the Curve tool included in masks and I think they also added the amount slider for masks a little bit after the release of this video ( I am not 100% sure though) . Anyway, thank you for the comment!
You can make a color selection in CaptureOne and use that selection as a mask
Exactly, this, among other things, is going to be a subject for another video I am planning to make
Ótimo vídeo! Obrigado por compartilhar o seu conhecimento. Já me inscrevi no seu canal!😉 Estou ansioso para mais dicas sobre o C1.

Great video; I was unaware of the mask feathering tool. Definitely going to use this one more. Did you end up making the video on recovering highlights in Capture One?
Great! 😀 thanks for the comment. I have another video about Levels tool in C1. Please feel free to have a look for recovering highlights
I enjoyed this video.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear.
I was excited to try the diffraction correction, but noticed some halos that it created. That was a disappointment.
Well, it is a post-processing trick anyway. But I have never had a major issue with it. It works 90% off the times
Great content , liked and subscribed .
Thank you very much 😊
Great thoughts and guidance Hamed. Thankyou
Thanks a lot 🙏
I think each Shimoda Explorer bags has its own competiters. For Shimoda E25 which is a light bag, there are a lot of good alternatives to be chosen from market. Myself I used to carry Lowepro flipside 400 when I want to go light. However in terms of comfort when I want to go heavy, there is no other bag that I have tried better than Shimoda E35 which is a heavy bag. Although E35 looks heavy, I did not feel uncomfortable when it's fully loaded. Thank to its adjustable carry system. My recommendation is to keep two bags for different purposes, depending on how much you want to load with. Therefore among heavy bags E35 probably the best while E25 might be mediocre among other good light bags.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Great vid! Was cleaning spots in C1 and saw a vid where the levels were moved to make the spots easier to see. Doing so, I noticed some nice changes in the photo and thought, "maybe there is a technique for editing just by levels." Your vid was spot on (sorry for the pun)!
I am so glad you've found this video useful!
Beautiful shots!
Thanks a lot :)
Amazing video. Combination of your calm voice, beautiful nature and relaxing music while showing gorgeous shots immersed me completely, and 17 minutes flew by unnoticed. Nice to see someone at process of creating an art. Listening to ideas that come in the moment of photography.
Thank you very much :D
Thank you! Very useful info 😊
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Awesome video
Thanks !
I just watched "7 tips to improve your landscape photos (make photos instead of snapshots)" by Hamed Bank, and I have to say that I was really impressed! The video was well-produced and engaging, and the tips that Hamed shared were both practical and insightful. One of the things that really stood out to me was Hamed's emphasis on the importance of planning and preparation when it comes to landscape photography. From scouting locations to researching weather and lighting conditions, it's clear that Hamed takes his craft seriously and is willing to put in the work to get the shot he wants. I also appreciated the way that Hamed broke down each of his tips into clear, actionable steps that viewers could follow along with. Whether he was discussing the importance of foreground interest or the use of leading lines, he provided concrete examples and demonstrations that made it easy to understand what he was talking about. Overall, I would highly recommend "7 tips to improve your landscape photos (make photos instead of snapshots)" to anyone who is interested in improving their photography skills. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced photographer, there's something here for everyone, and Hamed's passion and expertise shine through in every frame.
Thank you so much for watching and writing these kind words! Appreciate it!
Good tip to keep you photos simple. Thank you
Thanks for watching and the comment!
These are really great tips, thank you. Looks lovely up there, with all the pine trees and lakes. We don't really have that here in Denmark. We do, however, have a lot of rapeseed plants that have just begun flowering, so the whole country is turning yellow! I will definitely use these tips when trying to photograph that.
Thank you Nikolaj! I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Such an interesting video Hamed! Really useful :)
Thank you Victor!
Agree. Levels is very powerful and simple enough to not get carried away with unnecessary adjustments. The comparison with the same image done with other adjustments showed the great results you can achieve in a relatively short amount of post-processing. Many thanks for a great video.
Thank you very much!
Hi, why i don't have 'layers' in my 'Tools'?
Hi, in Capture one you can add or remove tools to theTool Tab Panel. Just right click anywhere on the Tool Tab panel, click on the Add Tool and from the list select Layers. Hope that answers your question.
An excellent comparison of these two camera backpacks...thank you! I'm considering the smaller Shimoda Explorer V2 30 L for 2 mirrorless bodies and 3 or 4 lenses (2 mounted on the bodies). And also considering the LowePro ProTactic 250 AW, but not sure if they'll work for my smaller configuration. Thanks again.
I am super glad that you found this video helpful. If possible, get the bags and test them with your equipments. That's the best way to find the right one for you.
@@hbphotos Yes, I’m still researching, but your comparison has been most helpful. Thanks again.
CaptureOne has one massive advantage over Lightroom: Luma curve. For Levels, I think Lr has the equivalent functionality with direct white point / black point setting…..
Thanks for the comment! I agree and disagree. Levels are not quite the same as white and black points in LR, I am making a video about level. I will explain it there.
Great edit 😀
Thank you 😊 I'm glad you found it interesting
