Well as you have gathered there has been little activity in the nest. Heading into week 17 it’s not surprising. Just like the book says Vic and Sid are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing. They are learning to hunt with guidance from the adults. At this time they are also extending their range as well.
Though I have not been glued to the camera as much over the last couple of weeks I can tell you we have seen the family out and about the farm every few days. Eagles in our region generally do not migrate far from their nesting territories. The weather and availability of food keeps them from travelling great distances.
