installed it with end-4's dotfiles (it's more like an ecosystem). I hoped to this from Windows 11 (I tried Hyprland and sway a year ago, didn't go well as t was to different for me in that time). After a while, like 4 months ago I was looking for the "my" setup for a while, and seeing end-4's config did it for me. What I noticed immediately is how everything is simple and just WORKS. Like, you just need to know where your config file is and that's it. Basically all the settings, all auto-launches, all rules, monitors, resolution, input method, all is here. Other stuff is near, just in another .config folders. And the failsafety of all this stuff is undoubtedly superior to the Windows. f something goes wrong it's just you did something wrong (or the package update broke smth, not a big deal usually). It's that simple. Boy do I need to mention the responsivness of Wayland. Feels faster than even Windows stuff, not mentioning the X11, and that's still in early development. What I wish is for this stuff to come out earlier, so there's would definitely be more stuff implemented. Well, we have lots of everything, like VR or even VR window managers. But, I wish gnome, Hyprland and all the ecosystems had more interconnection inside and outside, and partially, it's there. Gaming is also another theme. Like, I hear from all corners of the internet: "Steam is supporting Linux for gaming!", "Wine 10.0 becomes Wayland-native", "How fast is Linux compared to Windows". And I see improvements, but we have an anchor to our legs, as Linux is pretty open (licensing and anti-cheat problems are present), and is a niche for the Windows-dependent game market we had, so it's hard to make Linux actually better than Windows in that area. All in all, I like where the Linux desktops are going.

install arch from grounds up, install i3, add picom etc, have fun, and its too lightweight too

Hyprland isn't difficult only if you know what you are doing. By the way, you need to work on audio recording, i have no idea what that is called but probably pitch if it's low your it sounds too deep.

Can you do a waybar isn't hard video next? I just installed HyDE with cachyOS, however it seems the stock cachyOS is my default waybar config and I can't figure out how to get the HyDE config to be used as default

Is it possible to bind the key to launch the application if it's not open and to switch to the application if it's already been launched?

Hardcoding the version of app in window config is not quite update/upgrade proof, right?

Is not that hyprland is difficult or heavy, the problem is when the core dev decides on a ADAH-ridden 3AM coding session to rewrite random things, breaking all possible dependencies and configurations, leaving you wondering what happened with your desktop the next time you boot your PC after an update.

Setting up the monitors was the most difficult part configuring Hyprland. Reading the monitor positioning starts at 0x0 pixels from the top left corner, it becomes easier to adjust accordingly. hyrctrl monitor all is your best friend here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, and keep pushing that quality.

Windows has a way to spread the update delivery similar to torrent downloads. This is to reach faster downloads. There is an option to allow this behaviour. The IPs are then probably other windows installations in your area.

Windows sends some data to 3rd parties that do ad tracking and fingerprinting out of the box. You can check that out for yourselves, using a tool like wireshark or fiddler everywhere. So privacy wise, it's a nightmare. If you want to prevent Windows from spying or sharing your data to 3rd parties, you can use a tool like O&O Shutup or Portmaster. If you don't really need Windows and don't want the headache, just use Linux. It will cover most of your needs.
