I spent many a long weekend in my late teens and throughout my 20's camping past Sofala's 1st cause way where we would set up on the other high side of the river/creek that ran through the base of those high hills, we enjoyed motor trail riding, hunting, spotlighting, fishing (one guy caught a brown trout of decent size), camp fires, drinking, swimming and lots of good food, I always wondered about the gold that was no doubt missed in the many gulley's and around those hills in the background.
