Hi there, and welcome to my channel! I'm a 24-year-old Accountant, and I'm using this channel to document some of the cool projects I'm tackling in my garage! I'm a relatively inexperienced wood and metal worker, so feel free to leave advice for me in the comments!
Dutch Shuffleboard Table Build
For this project, I built a pair of traditional Sjoelbak tables out of Sapele and American Maple. for the finish, I used a mix of mineral spirits and oil-based polyurethane.

Custom Dining Room Cabinet Build
Просмотров 1384 года назад
Step by step of me building a cabinet for my dining room! I used red oak lumber, maple plywood, and poplar for the drawers. To be painted and the top finished with a polyurethane sealer.
Wees eens origineel. Maak een driedubbele sjoelbak, met 50 schijven, met 1-12 poorten en met auto telling.... De sjoelbak in deze video kan iedereen maken...... 😮
Hi Aaron, what finish did you use?
Very nice mate! Im planning on making one of these myself so will be studying your version in detail!
How much to make me one mate looks beautiful have u got a email address so I can contact you I live in UK
FWIW My woodworking is subpar compared to yours but for the pucks I used a chop saw to cut 2" by 1/2" disks from a 2" inch 4 ft long dowel dowel. As to another comment re concave discs. I know the official Dutch made Sjoebak builder uses concave disks. My question is how would you make concave disks? Would your CNC be able to do that.? Our works fine without being concave. Our disks are finished with 4 coats of poly, then car polisher, then wax. They slide very well. You can buy 30 concave pucks if it is important for $55.
What did you do to make the surface slippery? is it just a clearcoat?
I used 4 coats of poly then polished with a car drill 3 " polisher foam disk using car polish then wax. incredible difference between disks sliding after coats of poly and much better sliding after polish and wax.
You're crazy routering those disks like that.
How much would you charge for a pair of these?
I bought one HEEMSKERK, a neighbor had one when I was real little and yours seems to be build sturdier like his was.
nicely done but the disks/pucks need to be concave they slide just on the edges for better control
So how do you make em concave?
This is beautiful! What kind of CNC machine are you using?
Nice work Aaron, that's some serious skill!
Very well done! Cheers to another Van Driel woodworker!
Very satisfying video, and the kittens were very cute! If you're selling these, do you have a website?
She is known around the garage as the "shop foreman", studiously observing all the goings on at VanDriel Projects. She is, however, looking for a new home if anyone is interested!
@@vandrielprojects3022 memories! You have no idea how much I list after a game like this. My grandpa made his own. I would love to have one made…
Nice attention to detail. I’m impressed!👏
Great video! Cool Project. Nice editing! What was the purpose of the masking tape on the fence of the table saw near the beginning of the video? Can't wait to see more of your videos!
The tape on the fence marked the beginning and end of the dado blade. This allowed me to stop pushing through the legs at the right spot to leave that bottom 1 1/2" uncut since it's exposed.
