I wish Jimi had spread his wings more live in terms of playing tracks from "Axis" and "Ladyland", instead of covers like "Tax Free", "Sunshine of Your Love" or - yes - even "Watchtower". He only really began to cast his net wider on a regular basis as regards the songs selected for the live set when Billy joined the band and new material began to be showcased in performance.

Billy Cox was on fire here with his creative Bass playing. It's a nice contrast to Redding's musical stiffness.

so wierd the Soundman who was recording this off the board (bootleg?) changes the drum sound completely before the Buddy Vocal part. threw a ton of reverb on it....i guess to prevent it from ruining the vocal .......then back at 8:53....

Add Buddy Miles on drums and you have A Band of Gypsies. Buddy Miles drums on Room Full of Mirrors is epic stuff. We can only dream about what Jimi, Billy and Buddy had in store for us… We lost a lot when Jimi passed.

Just when I think I've heard all of the Hendrix bootlegs, I run across this gem. He did a remarkable take here, given how heavily produced the song is on the album. Love finding unearthed treasures like this!

It's a shame there's not many other live recordings from Funkadelic in the early days. We're lucky this even exists.

I have always felt that improvised, up-tempo jams best capture Hendrix's unique talents. His rhythm playing, with all his embellishments and the funk that drips from it, his uncanny ability to generate killer riffs from seemingly nowhere, all with totally original and melodic lead lines mixed in. I put Earth vs Space in this category, along with the extended Astro Man Jam.

Fantastic version of a great song. I wish we had a professionally recorded version of the entire concert! His sound and tone sounded so good in 1970, up to around July. Then for some reason August & September not so much. I don’t no why, Isle of Wight is an example of this. Maybe someone with more insight than myself can shed some light!

I humbly would say that Hendrix was very good,among other qualities,because( like the Beatles in pop ) he devenloped lead guitar possibilites and left a path for all to follow and grow on. But,just like in this performance,he ( like many other great artists) couldn't give a f... about " silly" things ,like keepin' his guitar in tune..and,at the end of the day,my ears just suffer about that.pure pity
