Hello and welcome to Teddy's Junction, after been introduced to the world of Garden Railway with My Dad it has became a Hobby we are enjoying. So far I am a member of 2 local clubs where we can enjoy running the loco's. The Loco's in the collection so far are the Roundhouse 16mm sm32 Harlech Castle complete with sound and r/c, The Criccieth Castle with sound and r/c. Then the Silver Lady live steam fitted with r/c, Russell live steam fitted with r/c and recently the little Bertie that has had the r/c fitted.
My plan is to add a couple of videos along the way while running at the clubs or tinkering at home that may help someone or just give viewing pleasure. This will also be a learning curve so bare with me.
So the Roundhouse Bertie has now had the cylinders serviced and the Cricceith Castle is now running so there will be some running footage of the locos to come. There’s also other jobs to do and no doubt extra unplanned bits and bobs along the way.

Teddy's junction returns to the Sutton Coldfield Model Engineering Society at Little Hay Railway for the 75th anniversary celebrations. The challenge was to cover 75 miles across all the lines (sm32, 5", 7 1/4") and safe to say it was achieved easily with such a fantastic range of loco's.
There was an area with steam Traction engines running that i unfortunately missed, but will try to catch them the next time they are running.

I had purchased some new nameplates from Roundhouse Engineering for the Criccieth Castle which I have installed in the video. I had also gave it a test run on the rolling road after cleaning down the loco and sorting out the electrics. I will have to get some footage running on the track with some rolling stock soon. So this is my Fathers Roundhouse Bertie, we have decided to complete a service on the cylinders and reinstall the Summerlands chuffer. I have made the video in 2 parts just to reduce the video times. I could not help myself but want the summerlands chuffer as they sound fantastic, this video is just me installing one to my Roundhouse Russell. It was a fairly straight forward job and cannot wait to run her on the track to see how it looks and sounds especially with the fx control added. I have installed the Mtroniks switcher to the loco so I could remove the original switch near the connecting rods. I had bought the loco as a used item so originally it was sold with no sound and upon inspection the units were installed but required wiring etc. The switcher works just as it should and is easy to use. Very enjoyable thanks for posting. I have several live steam lcomotives, My old Accucraft Ruby is out of action presently but hopefully will be steaming again soon.
A very nice little loco! To fill up the steamoil seems to be a little bit tricky. Thats why I love my locos with cabinroofes to remove. Thank you for this nice video - so it got me to light the flames in my little engine. Greetings from Austria

Love the twin rakes of 3-compartment coaches. I think I'm going to have to build a baggage brake soon, they just look so great on the ends of those trains. Most of my stock is at least partially 3D-printed, and my biggest piece took around 25-30 hours on the printer... That class 59 must have taken at least a week just to print! Now that's patience! Also gotta love the little girl who knows how to use her Muffin voice 😁
Really nice video, the roundhouse locos looked great and suitable rakes of coaches too. Hard to believe the 59 is 3D printed, very impressive
If you ever manage to remove the Isle of Luing numberplates I would be more than happy to give them a new home. I have a loco called Isle of Luing.

Hi, Thank you for the comment the colour does look superb and is actually a colour on the RH chart it is the Deep Bronze Green -BS224. The Silver lady is a fantastic loco with some really nice features, I think Roundhouse generally do produce some excellent locos and run superb. All the best
Does Russell come painted with the lining from Roundhouse or is that a post-purchase addition? If so, how is that achieved?
Hi, the lining was actually an addition after purchase from Roundhouse as they don’t offer this as a service. So the lining was completed by a company called Lightline and is now owned by a chap called Glenn williams who you could find on Facebook page : 16mmngm association group. The loco Lining is certainly an area for the skilled steady hands out there. Hope this helps

i put the regner whistle kit on to my lady anne had to drill and tap the regulator to 1/4in and i also brazed mine too had to be careful about the battery box on the roof but with a bit of fettling it will fit in there and they sound great i put the whistle body on the left hand side you just have to be careful when operating it that it doesnt empty the boiler before the gas runs out

How have you found the Fosworks gear compared with the usual RC? I’m tempted to upgrade my locos but I’m uncertain of what’s involved.
Hi, The Fosworks is fantastic and works really well and comfortable to hold. The benefit of not having to hold the controller in place or turning off the remote and letting the loco run on its own is great. There are some chaps thinking about buying the Fosworks controller and receiver after having a little go and seeing mine. If your loco is set up with remote control all you need do is swap the receiver and bind it to the controller, may have to set it up slightly but there are guides on Fosworks website if you get stuck and there are instructions with the controller and receiver too. Hope this helps

Great admiration for anyone who can line a Loco. I found this on the 16mm association site which may be of interest :- " Geoff Munday Trophy Awarded to any member who does not paint, line or weather models for remuneration. All types of model are eligible for entry, be they scratch-built, commercial off-the-shelf, rolling stock or lineside infrastructure. Judges will look for exceptional painting, lining or weathering that enhances the model and elevates it above its peers. Members may enter the same model in another class, but the entry in this class will be judged on painting, lining or weathering alone." I assume that Geoff set up this trophy for the MOTY (Model of the year) competition. Great Videos . Regards Garry
