Those are AI generated podcast voices?? Wow, its really come a long way in making it feel natural.
Google for the win in this space. These are their Studio voices - still waiting for the 'synthesis with multiple speakers' to be made publicly available so I have more control with the output so I can add it to at least one of my apps - youtube.com/@ThorsHEROApps
Really interesting use of the tech!
Thanks! I was surprised to see that I could interact with them already. It's a bit rough/awkward to converse with them but one would think they'll get it figured out in the next iteration or so.
I want to use it more with others. Most of my VR usage is solo, mostly games and watching shows. But, I want to do more things with other people in VR, be more social virtually.
Same here! Finding time seems to be one of my biggest challenges.
I have a small RUclips channel and I just made a video recorded in VR. It went well. This is my resolution. Make more stuff. And do it well. Cheers!
Awesome and may you have a great year!
They dropped pro 2 because play for dream Mr headset beat them to it.
Are you making use of the hdmi input capability?
Not yet - I don't have a HDMI capture card. Are you getting any use?
@@WorknTheVerse I have a usb-c battery powered mini pc plugged into it. I've dabbled with using it for s/w dev, not exactly a laptop but it is windows in a headset wherever you want to go.
Work'n the Verse, Keep making videos!
Thor here - thanks for watching!
This looks awesome with a PSVR2!
So cool to hear this works with the PSVR2 - thanks for sharing!
Looks great!
The biggest upgrade they could make is something that is cool, not hot and steamy, and doesn't feel like a load on the face.
Thor here - it's not a far reach to see that as the next area of iteration. With AR glass evolution and Immersed's Visor coming to market soon, it could be just what's needed for the next round of quality of life improvements.
@@WorknTheVerse Yeah, I hadn't seen Immersed's stuff before. It looks a lot more comfortable. IMHO, that's one of the big holdups. I don't want to wear something that's going to steam my face and give me a migraine.
@@rocksnot952 Have you tried BoboVR's headstrap yet? The S3 Pro has a blower built-in. I have it and it's a nice add-on. I haven't had to use it much myself.
@@WorknTheVerse I'll look at it. Thank you!
And if you're interested, here's my reaction video when I first got it - ruclips.net/video/Td6I9LwxgwA/видео.html
I recently picked up the Quest 3, and I really do find it to be an improvement on the Quest 2. The passthrough is great, and Virtual Desktop is great for doing PC things. I just wish I could have them both combined. Idk what it would take to get the Virtual Desktop app to include a passthrough ability into their app? Side note, I wish more streaming services created VR apps. I have Prime VR, and I access the others via my Quest browser, but I would love to see a Netflix VR or Crunchyroll VR app, with multiple viewing location options, such as outdoor venues, cinema, home theater, etc.
Thor here - Thanks for watching. I wouldn't be surprised to see Virtual Desktop add what you're asking for in a future release being that it's possible to do so in Immersed and Horizon Workrooms Personal Office mode. As for streaming services, if Apple's next release catches on we might see more companies willing to invest their development hours to getting out more VR content like you're wanting. Netflix did have a dedicated VR app but that went by the wayside earlier this year.
You're the only one smart (on the entire videos on RUclips regarding Workrooms) enough to mention and realize it's very difficult to add/invite people to a workroom meeting because there's no option inside your VR headset to do this. Meta tried to think of the most difficult way to invite people to meetings. Every few weeks we try to set up a meeting in Horizons WorkRoom and have never had any success. Lots of bozos working on Horizon software over at Meta who probably have never had one meeting either!
Works great until you want to figure out how to invite someone to your room and share your computer screen. IN the new version, there is NO invite button. You have to take complicated steps and often doesn't work which is really frustrating. You have to set up meetings on your computer in advance and exact times, then send emails to the people you want to invite and if they don't check their emails every five minutes, they won't know you want to meet with them. Why doesn't Meta let you invite them from your list of friends/contacts while in your headset? That would be too easy. And Zuckerberg wonders why NO ONE uses Horizon Workrooms. I know people who got so frustrated, they HAD to buy an expensive Apple VisionPro so they could share their screens without having to deal with the bugs and terrible design of WorkRooms. Too bad Workrooms never fixed the way to invite attendees - that's the 100% reason for its failure! Zuckerberg doesn't seem to care.
And return it in the first 14 days for a full refund
Thor here - Long time in responding but yeah, there were several people who did that. Curious to know if similar numbers happened in countries outside of the US regarding returns.
Is it safe to charge the battery while it is in the headset when you are not using it? Will it charge the battery and headset at the same time? I just ordered one and love what I have seen about it. Thank you for your review.
Thor here - It's safe to charge the battery while it's in the headset which is a GREAT feature. So much easier while providing less wear on the Q3 as you're only unplugging the charging cable from the battery rather than the headset, so yes, one cable to charge both the headset AND battery at the same time.
@@WorknTheVerse This is great. Thank you for your reply. I am now camped out next to my mailbox. 😋 Hope I do not have to wait long. In the meantime, I can get my new Quest 3 adjusted, and all my games installed. Again, Thank you
@@TheLakotariver I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't have to wait too long. :)
@@WorknTheVerse It arrived. Hurray! I was tracking it and ordered an extra battery with the case to go with it. Got them all today. Super happy, took 8 days to arrive to Houston, Texas. Thanks 😁
@@TheLakotariver Oh yeah! Let the good times roll. I'm a bit envious as it only took you 8 days - when I ordered it was closer to 60 I think? I'm glad you didn't have to wait long at all.
Does the Bobos plastic moving parts make noises for the continuous use? I got a generic version for my Quest 2 and makes noise even when Im wearing it. Great review, BTW. Thank You :D
Thor here - Thanks for watching and I've never noticed any obvious noises from the BoboVR head straps except for when I'm adjusting with the tightening wheel.
I've been using this for a few months and the only problem I've found with it is the extra weight. Can be tiresome in longer sessions.
Thor here - I've been using the S3 Pro version now and it seems to be a bit better for longer sessions. If you find pain points on the top, you can remove the top two pads.
I have both apps and they are both awesome. Age of joy stand alone on the headset makes it so easy to take anywere and also the MR that's now been done to go with it is amazing. The new update is superb and also added jukebox to play mp3s. Arcade time capsule is brilliant but has to be run from pc but the graphics are superb!! If you haven't got them yet y not!!
Thor here - I agree that both are wonderful. Now I have to find some time so I can try out the latest version of Age of Joy!
@@WorknTheVerse I know the feeling. At the moment I'm torn between AOJ, Arcade Time Capsule and Emuvr with the new WiguX update. Things just keep getting better and better.
@@lmarsh1894 Too many great possibilities, and too little time. Emuvr is definitely on my list too with all of the changes. Sounds like they have made Emuvr's latest more readily available to the public or do you have to get invited still?
Arcade Time Capsule hands down is the best VR arcade I've seen. Looks so pretty and captures the nostalgic feel of the 80's well!
can this head strap be used with the PCVR link cable instead of that battery on the back ??? i just want ultra comfort using my quest 3 while playing
Thor here - The S3 Pro has a very short cable that plugs into the USB-C port but that’s only used to connect the battery to the Q3. You might want to plug in the battery even if you decide not to use it as you might find the balance more comfortable. Easy to place/remove so you can’t go wrong with experimentation.
This video would be so much better if you stop literally quoting the marketing-pages and think about stuff yourself before writing your script.
Miyop tedavisine (eye ciliary body exercise) etkili olabilecek vr gözlük tavsiyeniz var mı
Thor here - Sorry! I don't have any recommendations for myopia treatment (if Google Translate is presenting your question correctly). If you're looking though for a good lens adapter, Reloptix has a very good solution (ruclips.net/video/-37k49qTzlQ/видео.html)
I essentially live on the road and need a comfortable, BIG-screen monitor replacement headset for all-day work, not VR gaming. The Immersed Visor or the Sony headset look like they might be perfect. The Vision Pro is too much of a face-brick 🧱.
Thor here - Have you considered XReal's Air 2 Ultra - us.shop.xreal.com/products/xreal-air-2-ultra
@@WorknTheVerse - Yes, thank you for the suggestion. I will likely get the XReal if the Visor turns out to be vaporwear.
Everybody in this space (the metaverse) is only concerned about money potential and forget that it's a bloody game. A shitty, empty game nobody cares about or wants to play.
VR were always exciting and the best 21st century tech you will ever have, is just that many people have never even tried one that's why all the negatives
I think opening up their OS will encourage more people to get into the VR space. I hope it means more apps and games become available across different headsets
Thor here - I'm in agreement with you. For the other side of the coin, John Carmack had a less rosy take on what this could mean - www.uploadvr.com/john-carmack-on-meta-horizon-os-third-party-headsets/
Esquire a lot of money for an extra bit of battery when the games aren't even that good on Quest 3 or 2 rubbish .half of the people on RUclips are paid to make out these things are so good it is complete waste of time
You get a sub
Thor here - nice and thank you!
I am starting looking for those 2 options. Playing on arcade cabinet since 15 years, what i miss is the social part of it. Hope this will bring the socialize missing part.
Thor here - Of the two that I reviewed here, Age of Joy will likely be the first to add the social aspect to it. There is another app in the Meta Store, Arcade Legend, that has the social part but not the licensing for video games. I haven't tried it though.
@@WorknTheVerse arcsde legend...yes that one not goong in the direction i like to. Personally, i like old reel arcade like mame. Ok to pay bit i like to keep the essential. Thats why app that uses mame will jave my heart
Well, I'm waiting for my preorder to finally ship. Sadly there are no sweaty reviewer as me. It gets fogged for me instantly. I used F2 on my quest 2 but this thing is the best way to do fan. Fun fact, when i sold my Quest 2, i forgot to ship the actual fan part, because it was charging. So yes, Fan is a must for me and not having to charge it is a very big plus. It's price is more than justified for me. I bought 30$ elite strap knockoff + 40$ F2, so this thing costing 90$ is just fine.
Thor here - my preorder took time as well. I've used the fan once so far and it's a nice touch. My hunch is I'll use it more this summer as things heat up!
Hi I got mine today and I thought it was weird every single reviewer said I don't really sweat much . I tried it with just the power it shipped in so it died say 30 mins in the heat all came back to my face and head long story short it's brill I thought it was no doing anything down low untill the heat all went to my face and head brilliant
That's awesome that you're noticing a difference already - Thanks for letting us know!
There's another relevant aspect you didn't mention where Age of Joy is ahead of Time Capsule: light gun games. We've got many, and there are others on the way along with updates to existing ones, both aesthetic and functional, from haptics to bigger screens and new emulation cores. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. If you need anything just ask in the discord.
Thor here - great call out! I'm sure there's other things I missed, too like adding other platforms such as Sega Genesis, AgeBasic for personal customization, and the list goes on!) Looking forward to the updates - so cool seeing the changes from 0.4 to 0.5.
There are many more stuff coming, the gang is hard at work. Time Capsule is always going to look better, but you've got to take into account the hardware it runs on. The Quest is never going to be able to beat that in terms of environmental realism but once you insert a coin in a machine that definitely takes a backseat, and in that sense we're way ahead and definitely not stopping. Time Capsule is a good program too, of course, but AoJ actually has way more to offer in spite of the inferior hardware it runs on - and there are new features incoming. Do you like EmuVR? Who doesn't, right? If only something similar was available for standalone VR...
Quest users have the best of both worlds right now with Age of Joy and Time Capsule. EmuVR is definitely on the list to try (hello multiplayer!) - hopefully the developer will do a general release soon as the latest build is only available by Discord (private channel as of this writing). For those interested, you can get more info here on the 2022 release - www.emuvr.net/wiki/Main_Page
Something similar to EmuVR will be available soon, although with relatively - and understandably, Id say- less features, at least at the beginning. And you won't need to leave AoJ to enjoy that.
@@oscarjimenezgarrido7591 I had a hunch that you were going to be sharing that. It will certainly be a game changer! Count me in if you're needing testers.
The biggest problems I had with velcro straps was with the original straps of the quest 1

question. Did employees mention anything about purchasing one? I dont want to show up at a demo and have them tell me "okay that'll be 4,000$".
Thor here - There was no expectation to buy and no sales pitch! One employee I was chatting with earlier even asked for my impressions on my way out and not once said, "so, are you going to buy?"
Very informative. I appreciate the comparison to Quest products. I'm glad there are people like you out there who are willing and excited early adopters to test new tech products so they can become mass consumer products in the future.

Hi! Can we collab?
@yogesvrofficial Reached out to your support address.
Too heavy
I have a Quest 2 just to see if I could use VR with my vision loss. With the answer being yes, I got super interested in the Vision Pro, because visionOS is built on macOS and iOS, which means apple can (and did, I checked) bring over all their accessibility features. Meaning for someone like me this is the most accessible spatial computer ever.
Thor here - So cool to hear that you found something that could work for you. And if you took the plunge to buy, you'll have to let us know how it goes!
Meta quest is known Apple Vision Pro and shouldn’t be compared to it
Order mine
Wife and I are stoked for this - getting ours on Feb 2! We have Quest 1 and 2 headsets, but we haven’t found either to be usable in anything less than the ideal space. We bailed when they forced users to pair with a Facebook account and haven’t gone back. If AVP can actually deliver on what it’s promising, we’ll be very happy campers. Y’all should do a video on WebXR compatibility for AVP - will probably be some of the best launch-day gaming available, and apparently Safari will support WebXR on AVP out of the box.
Thor here - great idea on WebXR. This approach seems to be getting more interest again and with AVP, I wouldn't be surprised to see more developers jumping onboard.
The asesores are more than the quest 3

Thor here - thanks for watching and I appreciate the encouragement.
Im a VR newbie, better yet a Vr virgin. Wife gifted me a Quest 3 for Xmas. Thought about getting the Bobo, but eventually landed on the Binbok T3 because of the dual batteries and charger. Finally received it yesterday. So far, so good. Now on to figuring out this Asgard's Wrath 2 😮
Thor here - welcome to the world of VR and the Binbok T3. The battery design is cool and as others have said, you can now try VR lying down, too. I wouldn't recommend doing that with Asgard's Wrath 2. 😁
That game made me so sick i couldnt play it anymore, i was also a Virgin vr enthusiast untill recently now getting the bobo strap!@@WorknTheVerse
All i am looking for is a comfortable headset where it stays on and the quest 3 can move up or down, almost like a welding helmet… so when someone does come in my office i can lift the headset up and talk to them, when done I can just lower it again, without having to reset everything again
@ease868 The BoboVR M3 certainly does this. There's also an option to wear it without the face plate - it's akin to the Quest Pro design. The one time I tried it, I wasn't a big fan of it. Hard to get the 'sweet' spot right. Now that I have prescription lenses for my Q3, doesn't make sense to try it again - ruclips.net/video/-37k49qTzlQ/видео.html
@@WorknTheVerse thank you very much for that feedback! Will look in getting me one
@@ease868 FYI - I tried flipping it up compared to my Q2 version and there is a bit less clearance for the Q3 but its manageable. One thing I've found though is with the Q3 passthrough when talking to people they don't seem nearly as bothered compared to the Q2. Probably because you're actually looking at them directly vs. 'guessing' in the Q2.
