We loved visiting the Huka Falls whenever we visited Taupo 😊

I was therr in 1993 and 1994. Loved it. They did not have that motorway all the way from Petone and the Hutt valley back then, but it just appeared from behind a hill. Wonderful place. But a little cleaner now than in the mid 1990s where courtney place had more bars than you could shake a stick at. I used to work next to the funicular in caltex tower on lambton quay and lived in mount victoria for 6 months. 15 min walk

My sister and I lived at 18 plunket St owned then by a lovely kind lady called Mrs Purvis. We used to take the tram lift down into Wellington to meet our mother who worked at Whitman and Tomes book binders. We had emigrated early in 1956 but unfortunately my father met someone else and we returned late 1957 without him. I realise that Wellington has changed massively in in 63 yrs. We first stayed in a boardng house at Oriental Bay.
