Creativity shouldn't be limited by gear. I learn, fix, and use old and new stuff. Mostly photography and video, because I love old cameras and film just as much as the latest mirrorless cameras, microphones, and AI.
Vintage, digital, or hybrid, I believe things both old and new have value worth sharing. Old and new lenses and cameras, film, scanning, Lightroom, Davinci Resolve, video creation and editing, audio, webinars, presentation, story, and more.

How to Remove Fungus From a Mamiya/Sekor Lens
Hi! Ive been gifted this camera by grandad, and God knows when it was last used. I can't seem to open it to access the film (likely due to lack of use for many decades). Any tips on how I can get it open without damaging it?
Be cautious. Don't force anything. Wiggling things is a good start. Find some videos to watch of people opening them, etc, so you can really see how it's supposed to work. I nearly broke mine because I didn't understand how the release works to fold it back up. Expect the bellows to be rotted out. Sadly, it's very likely. Good luck!
I watched your car show video which lead me to this one. INCREDIBLE!!! I just got into adapting mamiya 45mm and 80 2.8 with the Kipon Speedbooster onto my Canon R5 II and I'm loving it. I bought lenses that are in excellent condition, but I was wondering if I save a few hundred and buy one's that may have some fungus if I could clean them. I'm not sure if I feel confident or not in that, but you made it look easy.
Wow, thank you. :) I cannot say it was all easy. There were some parts that were hard to get apart, and you have to be careful you can put it back the same way it came apart. If you aren't too concerned about microcontrast and clinical sharpness you might be happy with the results. I find these old lenses have a really nice feel. Happy shooting!
This helped a lot i got my pentax working thanks
Awesome! Happy photography!
thank you for this. Helped me a lot.
You're so welcome! Good luck with your photos!
You wouldn't by any chance have a video of how to fix a Yashica Electro 35 lighmeter, would you? :D
Sorry, no, I don't have one of those. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this video! You saved my Spotmatic <3
Awesome to hear!
great video, I'm wondering what did you use to unscrew the lens?
For the back retaining nut of the lens and shutter assembly, I used channel lock pliers to get it loose, then fingers were enough. For the lens itself, just my fingers.
I have the original Rodecaster Pro. Do you know if separating 4 audio tracks is possible when using this method?
If you have separate channels in hardware (i.e. separate XLR cables coming in) then I would think so, but I don't have experience with the Rodecaster.
I watched the entire video and I have no idea what this product is. And you never told us.😮
Thank you for watching, and for the feedback. I guess I thought it was self-explanatory given the name of the device and the context of film scanning that I talked about, but your comment will help me make my videos better in future. Thank you.

Yw :)
My lever that is supposed to pull back is stuck & so is my mirror is it anyway to fix that ?
Is the mechanism cocked all the way? Is the mirror itself stuck? I'm not sure what else to check. Sorry, wish I could be more help.
Thank you so much for this. I currently do not have a mic but I am doing this for my Laptop mic. Thanks
Glad I could help!
Thank you i had the same problem here. Thank you
You're welcome!
This was extremely helpful. I got mine to close but cannot get it to close all the way - seems to push the bellows in awkwardly and I don't want to break them.
It is a risk with these old cameras. Be careful and good luck!
Honestly, it looked better at 2:41 when you moved the blue over.
Honestly, this was so faded it was really difficult to work with. You may be right. Thanks for watching. :)
Good job.Thanks for sharing👍
Thanks for watching!
ty so much for this video it's really well made. subscribed.
Thank you for the sub!
What were the measurements you gave the company to make your bellows? Thanks for your help, Great video by the way.
Hi, The measurements are in the description. Thanks for watching!
Thank you. Excellent breakdown and clearly told. And perfectly timed. I'm just about to begin scanning my 35 mm and 6x6 negatives.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck, and thank you!
Hell ya! It worked
Awesome! Hope you take a bunch of cool photos with it. :)
Fuck yeah. This is awesome. Thank you so much
Totally welcome
For 120 slides and/or negatives?
There is a holder for 120 film for the EFH. I haven't used it very much, because I'm mostly focused on 35mm slides right now. Some users on Reddit have mentioned problems with flatness and reflections when scanning 120 film. Worth some research, I guess. Thanks for watching!
i'm still stuggling to figure out how to hok up my portocapture
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Tascam Portacapture.
Great video can I ask where you buy screwdriver set please
There's an affiliate link for the screwdriver set in the comments. Good luck!
Trying to do this on version 19 and its completely screwed unless its my setting. Could really use some help.
I just tried it again on version 19, and it seems to still work exactly the same as I showed. Sorry, I'm not sure how to help, but I hope you've figured it out. Thanks for watching!
Do you do restoration work? I’d love to have a mint example of this camera as an everyday camera. I currently have 2 just ok copies I’m trying to get light tight. Haven’t found a replacement bellows and understand it’s pretty hard to replace?
Sorry, no. Check out my other video where I do the restoration. I include info about how I got the new bellows and show my experience with the installation. I hope it inspires you to DIY it. Good luck!
Hey this is a random question, I can’t get mine closed when press the metal tab in the camera isn’t able to move back on the rails, anyone got any advice on how to fix that
Did you also press to release the two side arms?
Bonjour, that me again do the black and white film of today can take the réd Light?
There are 2 kinds of black and white film. The more common kind is panchromatic which is sensitive to most wavelengths including red light (think Ilford HP5+ and FP4+). The other kind is orthochromatic film (like Ilford Ortho Plus) which is sensitive only to blue and green light, but not red. This kind can take some exposure to red light without harm.
How do you take out the film after??
With roll film like this, you just keep advancing it until the whole spool is taken up. Then the paper backing will be covering the film so you can safely remove it. Unfortunately, there's no way to see, so you just have to keep turning the advance until you're sure you've gone far enough. There's no harm if you keep going. Once you remove the spool, stick the end tab down so it doesn't come loose.
Hello I need help do you know where I can find a store or éven an internet store to buy film for that camera
As far as I know the original 116 film is not available anywhere, but you can use 120 film in this camera using a 116 to 120 film adapter (added a link to the description). 120 film is still readily available from many places that sell film. I use filmphotographystore.com, amazon, and bhphotovideo.com.
@@homestudioplace thanks dude if i got some question do you mind if I ask them to you ? And also so you sell camera online ?
You're always welcome to ask questions in the comments. No, I do not sell anything photographic, I'm just here trying to help.
@@homestudioplace thanks dude you re the goat you think you are
Dust is difficult to avoid. Working in electronics engineering, a sneaky science approach to cleaning lenses untilises an anti-static mat with an anti-static wrist band. This keeps the body and work mat grounded of static electricity. If your body and work area is no longer positively charged (no potential difference), you won't attract dust to you or the lens you're working on ;) ;) ......just as a reminder that using an air blower to clean off dust actually creates static electricity which attracts more dust!
Good tip, thanks!
Why do you need the extension tube? Why not just use the adapter? Thank you.
You do not need the extension tube. I just used it to get closer focus and greater magnification in this case. The lens works quite well as a normal 55mm lens on the adapter. Thanks for asking!
Gold! Thank you for this!
You're welcome!
Perfect. Thank you for taking the trouble to publish this.
Wishing you many more photos with your Pentax. :)
First DRV Tutorial I'm watching where the "Cut" page is being shown haha
:)
i plan to repair the bellows of my kodak 3A autographic camera. i think the procedure will be the same. the only difference is the size of the bellows, as 3A is way bigger
Good luck! I hope you share the results. :)
Heh man you will forever be the guy who taught me to make a thumbnail in Davinci. Thanks sooooo much! I spent the morning making a thumbnail from your other video showing how to do it on the edit page. This looks more complicated but I am going to make notes and try it myself. What we do without great instructional videos like this on you tube? When I look at the devinci manual I get cold chills just think about finding anything out in there.
Lol! I know what you mean!
yes
inside could get a little flat black paint on the white screws, Thanks for the show and tell. Great job. do mine next?
Good idea, thanks!
Nice thanks
Thank you!
Very valuable info thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Super helpful. Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Very satisfied to watch you replace the bellows. You did great. Well done! I have a Kodak pockket no. 1 , use 120 film. The bellows needs replacement. your video is really helpful. Thank you for sharing.
I hope you do it. Good luck!
Thanks. I’ve been struggling with this today. I will try this tomorrow.
Good luck!
It's so frustrating, I don't even have the "CREATE FUSION" option. What do I need to do in order to get this to appear under the medial tools? I already uploaded some media 😭😭
On either the media or edit tabs (at the bottom) you should be able to open your shortcut/context menu (right-click on PC) and see an option for "new fusion composition." If it's not there, I'm not sure why that would be.
Wow, perfect video exactly what I needed… easy like and subbed! More pls.
Awesome, thank you!
Amazing video
Thanks!
Thank you sooo much!!
Glad it helped!
just want to let you know I appreciate how quick you got to the point on this video. Great work and well explained.
I appreciate that!
Would this work on a Kodak No.A1 series 3?
I would guess it would, but I can't say for sure.
Does this also work for the no.1? (The 120 film variant) Mine has very dry bellows, wirh many pinholes and tears. Literally grazing my fingers across the bellows gets particles of it on my fingers
I haven't ever had my hands on a No. 1, but they seem to be very similar, so I expect so. My bellows were the same; shedding black dust at a touch. It was a little nerve wracking, but worth it to me. Measure carefully.
Lucky I found a document that had bellow codes for older bellows from repair shops, they seem to be in nice condition. Thanks for the advice in the video!
Update, ive taken out the bellows but I have yet to take out the rectangular peice.
