I can tell he is in pain because he puts his ears back now .I did try the sea kelp it seems to help but not as good as I would like . Can I give him something for the pain? Thank youu

    • @dotcomhomestead
      @dotcomhomestead 2 года назад

      Sorry to hear Wesley is feeling bad. The Sea Kelp is a supplement that is good for healthy bones and digestive system. Pano is something that will go away after about a year old. I know Sarah had it and she seemed in pain. I went to the vet and she said its just growing pain. I did not allow her jump out of my Jeep until she was a year old. THis was just a way to help with the bone growth. As far as for something for the pain, I am not sure of what to tell you. I would recommend a visit to your vet and see what they might have. Again, I am no expert on this topic. Just a guy and his pup enjoying life as it comes. I know this may not have the answers for you, but I hope your little one gets better. Please keep my posted as to how Wesley is doing.

    We've got 2 Czech import German Shepherd puppies both male from the same litter. One of them has been going through this but at nearly 6 months old this one has him limping and holding up his front paw and whining all the time. Its also putting him off his food and its sad because you can tell how much pain he is in. We are going to try him on cbd oil in the meantime to see if it helps.

      Sorry to hear the pup is hurting so much. I hope you have visited your vet. It may be a good idea as to it may be more than Pano. Sarah had a pinched nerve in her neck and she had the same syptoms. I hope the little one gets better and keep us posted as to what you find out.

    My 7 month old puppy is half lab half German Shepard. I took him to the vet 3 weeks ago for a limp that had for about a week. They said it was Pano and gave him an anti inflammatory. He’s been limping for a month now and it still seems to bother him quite a bit. How long did an episode last for your dog? Did you start the kelp after the diagnosis? If I buy that for my dog do you think I will see some kind of improvement or change? I just feel bad. He’s a puppy and should be able to use up all of his puppy energy by being able to play without being in pain.

      Hi Brooke, Sorry to hear that you're pup is hurting. I know the feeling of helplessness when they start limping. My little girl got Pano and was limping pretty badly. THe vet said growing pains and gave her some muscle relaxers. That's when I found this video and decided to give the Sea Meal a try. It was a little over a week and she was not limping anymore. Fast forward three years and she still gets it in her food everyday. She looks for it when she is eating. It's good for her digestion and she is very active and healthy. After starting with the sea meal, she has never got it in any of her other legs. THe vet said she may get it in all of her legs. I did not let her jump out of the car until she was better and a year old. Now she jumps up and in all the time. Im no expert on this, but if the vet said Pano, all you can do is try and not have the little one jump down and put any pressure on the leg. I know it will be a hard task, but I think they know when something is hurting them.

    C-Kalp is good I did use it for my elderly poodle, it did help for a few years. But what you are saying here is conpletely out of way. You need to feed your baby with high protein and Ca diet BECAUSE: growth happens exactly when his gentic code makes it happen. Owners do not "grow" the bones of their pups(!!! - OMG you must've lost it completely!). I never have heard such inept teaching. Yes, the supliment is good but the best would be to have this administered in natural diet. For the elderly, due to ageing, digestion and absorbtion decline this supliment does a good job, perhaps it would also work well at a younger age (see kidneys first) but the idea of controlling your pup's growth through starvation and feeding this supliment rather than natural food ....! - I must say : I was happier before I've seen your promo.

      Hi Clokey, good question. I'm not sure that the cold makes it any worse. My pup loves to lay in the snow and take a nap. Most shepherds have a thick undercoat to help keep them warm. If your pup is limping I would avoid letting them out on snow or ice as to they could slip and make it worse.

      Hi Vimala, In large breed dogs, there bones grow so fast that it sometimes causes pain for your pup. Sea kelp helps to minimize the pain and help with the bone and joint growth. My pup, Sarah, is now 3 years old and she is still getting the sea kelp. She actually looks for it in her food dish. I think it helps her out in so many different ways. Check GERMANSHEPHERDMANs webpage for more details. He has helped me a lot. Keep me posted on how your pup is doing

    My poor boy is going through his 3rd round of this. The first time it happened, it went away in a few days. I just thought that he burned his paw on hot pavement. The next time it happened, he was in so much pain that he wouldn't eat. He was in doggy day care all the time and running around with the other dogs all day. he was only 9-10 months at the time. The vet said that you shouldn't be getting that much exercise at that age. We did a full body x-ray and the vet was able to see where the growth plate was separated. He also said that my pup still has a bunch of growing to do. It took about a week for him to feel better. He's 15 months old now and it has happened again. My son recently moved back home and brought his Lab with him. The two dogs get along great, but my GSD has just been non-stop playing her. He chases her around and tries to herd her, as she runs with a ball. I hate seeing my pup in pain. I can't wait till this phase of life passes.

    • @dotcomhomestead
      @dotcomhomestead 2 года назад

      Hi Mike. I know how you feel. My Sarah had the same problem when she was younger. Thankfully I saw GermanShepherdMans video and got her on the sea meal diet. She is doing good now at 3 years old. He explains how the bone plate growth goes. I never had any idea and have helped others with large breed dogs. As we play catch with her balls, I watch when she heads towards her water dish. I realized that she needs a break and a little rest. I let her get her drink and regroup herself before playing. Even at 3 years old, I still practice this and it seems to help her out. She goes to the dog park every weekend and plays with her friends. I keep an eye on her and make sure she is not ever doing it. She will lay next to me and watch other pups playing until she wants to go play with them. I would talk with your vet and see if there is anything you can also do to help with your little boy. Keep us posted, Sarah always like to hear me talk about other puppies. Dan & Sarah

    When you say grow your dog slow how do we go about that. I have a year old gsd that is dealing with pano and a 4 month old I don’t want this to happen to. I’ve cut my pano dog back half of her food she usually gets which is now 2 cups a day. The baby is getting 4 cups a day. And he is thin. The pano dog is doing fine on two cups at this time. I plan to start them on sea kelp this week when it arrives. Thank you. This video made me feel better.

    • @dotcomhomestead
      @dotcomhomestead 3 года назад

      By growing slowly simply means to help there joints develop properly. After Sarah had pano in her right front leg, I never let her jump out of the Jeep. It's the jarring motion that hurts there joints. I let her free range on her food. She only eats what she wants to at the time. So growing slowly means to help them out and let them develop at a more steady pace. Even after Sarah is close to 3 years old now, she still gets her Sea Meal everyday. It helps with digestion and hair growth. She has a very shiny coat. I'm glad to here the pup with pano is getting better. I hope this helps out, let me know, Thanks

Sarah has been on the SEAL MEAL since her first bought of pano. She seems to like it and looks for it in her food. Her coat is soft and healthy. She may be on it her whole life. Glad to hear your pup is doing better. Keep us updated.

      If it is panosteitis, (your vet can confirm with a few x ray scans,) don't worry, it's common and temporary, it typically goes on for about a few days to a few weeks, and then stops for about a month, and typically goes away entirely around 2 years of age, best thing you can do is follow the instructions in the video, make sure (if your dog is in pain) to give them pain medications, and make sure to feed them a high quality diet specifically tailored to large breeds and make sure they stay at a lean healthy body weight, all the best -Mr. Woof

      Hi Millie, Sarah was the same way. She had a limp with no apparent pain. The vet said it was pano and I should keep her inactive (yeah right). I made it a point to keep her activity to a minimum. With the sea meal, she started getting better after a few days. She is now two years old and she gets the sea meal still everyday. I think it's still good for her and she looks for it on her food. Let me know how your pup is doing. Always interested to hear if they are doing good.

    I have an 8 month old male GSD and I feed him a small bowl in the morning (Iams), and a small bowl at night with treats in between. A couple of months back he began limping and it is his right front elbow. Today I noticed that there is swelling in the skin around his elbow (behind it). Please do not try to sell me a product as I am struggling to pay bills but I want to know what to do. I take him out and throw a stick for him around five days a week. I throw it around 15 to 20 times. Should I stop exercising him? I cannot afford to take him to a vet. I love my dog, Max, and just want to do what is best.

      Hi Brad, I know the feeling of paying the bills and keeping a roof over the head. Sarah and I do not try to sell anything. We just show everyone the stuff we like and use and hopefully you might like it also. I am sorry to hear that Max is not feeling well. Like I have always said, I am not expert or anyone that has all the answers to Shepherds. I would eat Ramon noodles and Hot Dogs for a month to make sure Sarah was alright. I would call a vet and ask them what it may be. I know they will ask for you to come in, so they can get paid, but it sounds like it may be the best option. I would check in your local area for a good vet. The one I take Sarah to is great. They don't see her very often, but they do recognize that she is not feeling good when we go in. Often times they consult you and give you a price before any treatment. I would call and see what price they will charge and see if it fits the budget. All I can say is that I would do anything for my Sarah and I would make it happen. PLEASE let me know how this all turns out. Sarah and I will keep you both in our thoughts. PS Get him to the vet to get him checked out PPS can you post a picture of him??

      @@dotcomhomestead My normal business, source of income, went under with the advent of the pandemic. Taking him to the vet is NOT an option. We have to live very frugally just to stay in our RV home. Anyway, is it consistent with this problem that there is swelling behind the elbow? Should I stop running him for exercise, something that I do because we don't have a yard, and this may help him to heal. Just two questions sir. Thank you for getting back to me.
