7 Matthew 12 6 Greater than the temple
Another passage I preached on yesterday. So interesting.
Thank you once more my friend.
Thank you. Preaching on this passage on Sunday (already written). It was interesting to hear your interpretation!
Bless you Bishop
Thanks Donald!!
Dear Ian What a good suggestion. I have passages planned for the next few months, but a bit further ahead will certainly do as you suggest - perhaps expanding the idea to include other OT passages important for understanding Jesus. Donald
Thank you for today's teaching. I wondered if you might accept your own challenge and do a series on the Old Testament that John should have seen the resurrected Jesus in.
Thank you My Lord Bishop for your readings and teachings. With love. Tom Beckett
Gtyjopce,,
I particularly like the metaphor of the swan, paddling against the current, appearing to be coasting along quite easily when beneath the water, it's feet are paddling like mad, working tremendously hard, to look as though on the surface, it's alright. In many ways, our own personal struggles are the same. Our struggles can be invisible to others, especially regarding specific illnesses , conditions, or disabilities that hide themselves well - we are battling within ourselves issues that others do not see - not because we chose not to let them see but they just do not show. Additionally, with our own struggles in coping with the world, as you say, war, famine, disaster etc. There are times when I feel terribly overwhelmed, deeply sad, and mournful by what I see and read and hear of the world and I need to 'switch off' in order to give myself time to process a tsunami of information overload, what I like to call information overcrowding. But it does not mean I am not still mourning when, during a time of retreat from what is disastrous in the world, doesn't mean ignoring it, but, it is a means of dealing with overwhelm, and strengthening one's own spirit, I hope, to return to the world again to be proactive within it. I often feel very much like that swan - on a daily basis.
God bless you Sir. 🙏
Many thanks John. I'm currently doing a series on the Sermon on the Mount. An Old Testament series could well be next, and I'd be very grateful for suggestions as to what that might be. Donald
Dear Bishop Donald, thank you so much for your continuing ministry in this way in your retirement. The road to Emmaus story in Luke's gospel is so beautiful and compelling. We really need to get to know the Old Testament better, and find Jesus there, too. Every blessing.
Many thanks John. I'm currently doing a series on the Sermon on the Mount, but it is likely that I'll do something on the Old Testament next. Any suggestions as to what that might be will be very welcome. Donald
Thank you for your introduction Bishop Donald. Looking forward to following the series on The Sermon on the Mount.
Thank you Bishop Donald. God is indeed AWESOME!
Thanks Precious. I couldn't agree more!
