I’m 6’3 and have to do the same thing

Anything past the 12 year warranty period should be under 100, if 5 year above, 450 is good, 2 years it's great. I got one for 50 of marketplace, spent another 200 on staple gun, seating foam, wd40, crazy glue, to refurbished it, not to mention the labor involved. But, I could of just left it alone, and the chair would of been okay as it did fix my back the day I sat on it. If your getting it from a place like Crandall or BTOD who remanufacture them, they are worth it as they have their own warranty.

​@@ex8280 Warranty wise, getting a 12 year old leap is the same as getting a 1 month old leap as they are non-transferable. That said, newer chair will definitely have more life tho that depends on how the owner used it.

There's alot of padding on this chair after you break it in for a week or two. It's just very unimpressive the first time u sit. It's a hard chair with giant cushions...u can see the cushions they are huge yet its pretty hard cushion but u do go DOWN with teh cushion and there's still padding ur not hitting any brick feeling items ur always feeling the cushions. I imagine the cushioning ages better, there are so many other problems with this friggin chair. you have to be EXACTLY positioned for the cushions to work in this chair. u can't have it too far out cause the butt cushions aren't flat they are grooved so ur butt has to sit in the middle of that cushion....which is not great cause u might want to extend the seat out for longer legs and not be able to properly. such an upsetting experience. if it was 1/4 the price....fine that's acceptable for so many other problems and cheap build quality issues...but it's not.

It comes down to personal preference. In my opinion, the Amia has a firmer back which is going to offer better support for people who don't move a lot during work whereas the Air gives more flexibility for changing postures and some people say that the mesh back provides better ventilation throughout the work day. I would strongly recommend paying a visit to your local Steelcase dealer to try each one out to determine which you prefer.

I went with the Amia Air with the 3D MicroKnit Back and Armless configuration which was about $850 Grand Total. Very comfortable and still provides a good amount of support. I'm 5'11" and 225lb. I couldn't justify the addition $400 for armrests and the different backrest on the Standard Amia. If the Standard Amia had the option to remove the armrests, that would've been my choice, but unfortunately their online configurator doesn't allow you to do so.
