From its retro rangefinder aesthetic to the hybrid viewfinder system, discover if this camera is the right fit for you. We'll discuss its titanium build, DURATEC coating, hidden LCD, sensor performance, and more. Plus, get ...
I dislike the back screen. That’s why I sold it
Calvin Klein shirt really...,
Love my camera but the oled screen failed, so probably the other one will fail too soon. And that's unacceptable. An almost 1700 dollar camera with a ONE dimensional flip screen that fails after (on average) 3 year is... The quality on this camera is just not there. It SMELLS designers. Look at nikon zf, we are on anothet lvl. Even my old Sony a7ii, or the griii, the Lumix lx3, my oly em5mk2, my old Mamiya, the minolta x700, they all work. This is my second xpro3 and it failed 6 months out of warranty. Inexcusable.
Ive had this camera for 3 years. Rarely look at the flip-down screen. Only use it on manual setting. Love the fact that the name isn't splashed across the front.
Xpro4 coming soon
I hade mine for 2years and 50 weeks, than did the screen die😢 still waiting to get it back from FUJIFILM….. it has been 5 weeks now. :(
Great, honest video of your first experience. Ignore the asshole comments. They are just jealous haters keep going with the videos!
Too many flaws with this cameras design/production for me to buy one. Since it was released there have been endless issues with failures on back screen.
I subscribed, YOU TOO
It's beautiful! Congratulations.
How much did it cost to repair the screen?
Congrats on the camera. To truly experience the Leica aesthetic you truly need to combine with a Leica lens. I bought second hand Leica lens is one way to achieve that goal.
Congrats. Don't underestimate the Voigtlander lensen. They're great. Love the porn music on this video.
Nice video! Soon M11-P owner myself 😊 why voightländer?
the ribbon breaks? Rarely ever open the screen.
Great video. I'm on the fence about X-Pro2 or 3. I already have the 1. Will make a new RUclips video about mu choice
What was the best Leica image you can show us?
Congrats! Black or Reporter Green. Be nice if they gave the choice of M-lenses in Reporter Green also!
I've owned 2 Leica M11-P dream cameras. Both riddled with freeze issues. Maybe its just my bad luck. Just very disappointing.
Congratulations on your new m11-p. Like my m10r and m10 Monochrom, it will give you years of enjoyment.
The M11 P black paint is the best and toughest coating you can get in all the camera brands on the market. Made of a special epoxy , this coating will never get damaged over time. This is for the Pro. Not for fancy looking boys.
How much did lecia pay?
@@FG-td4vs pay for what ?
Welcome to Leica. It is wonderful to see someone really enthusiastic as you get his camera. Bologna Leica Store is fantastic, and the people are very kind. Enjoy your new camera. Thank you for sharing.
I did the thing regarding the lens and believe me you will not be disappointed.
Now show us your mediocre photos you took with this camera
Your horrible
Congrats, I have an 11 and the same Voit 28 as well, I made a 20x30 print from a 60mp image recently. Id swear it was from a 4x5 film camera!
saaame chief! enjoy!
Congrats and welcome to the M11 fam. Enjoy it.
Congrats!! 😮
Well done … a great camera…..a small nimble camera… the more you use the better they get … I have owned an Mp since 2003 and to this day when I’m out taking a few pics it will suddenly come into my head how amazing the feel and quality of the camera is … I could be busy concentrating on my subjects but it will make me smile…. There balance and feel is just spot on … hope you enjoy for years …
Congratulations on your Leica.
Congrats bro..me havent got the fund yet to buy any Leica at the moment. 😅😅
I wish you inspiration and discovery with your new tool; may it bring you joy every-time you use it. I also recenly got my dream camera; the Fuji 100S with a set of lenses. Great camera, gives me joy every-time i use it. And boy, that one is heavy!! ;-)
Excited about future videos and your rangefinder experience. I’m thinking about a Leica mp film cam.
I'm definitely going to be making a lot more videos in the near future. If you have anything in particular that you'd like me to cover or talk about in a future video, let me know.
@@vernonsza curious to hear the switch from EVF to the rangefinder focus patch experience
Kudos to you, I just purchased virtually the same setup, only with a Voightlander 35. My first M. And yes, the heft and build quality is quite an epiphany. Enjoy that kit!
Funny you mentioned that since I've only had the camera for a couple of weeks but I'm starting to wonder if I should have gotten the 35mm lens instead of the 28mm that I currently have. On former camera systems the 28mm was almost perfect but now I find that the box inside of the rangefinder can be a little hard to compose because it's really wide. I really have to dig my eye into it and look around to see where the edges of my frame are. How do you like composing with the 35mm? And which version do you have? I was at looking at the 35mm 1.5 Nokton.
Going to get the exact combo. How is the voight?
I love it, but as I was telling somebody else, I'm starting to suspect that the 28mm focal length is a little too wide for me. For some reason, it's kind of perfect on my Fujifilm system (18mm f2), but on a Leica rangefinder, I really have to dig my eye into the camera to see the borders of the frame. I'm considering trying out a 35mm lens from Voigtlander to see how well that works out. But as far as sharpness and bokeh goes, on the 28mm, it's fantastic. I couldn't ask for anything better. I'm not somebody who pixel peeps and looks for clinical sharpness, especially since I'm already having a little bit of difficulty focusing, which I think will get better as time goes on. But from what I have seen, I'm completely happy with it. What do you shoot with?
Congratulations!
Funny that you say it feels like a brick... because it turned into one for me twice.
Sorry to hear that. I heard that when the M11 came out a lot of people were experiencing freezing issues. And some people even had to send their cameras back to Leica to be fixed. Was that your experience? Were you ever able to get that sorted out? I haven't had any issues so far. So I think it might have been a firmware thing or maybe they fixed that just before they came out with the M11P.
@@vernonsza Glad it's worked out for you. I was also disappointed that the internal memory doesn't work as it should and that the USB charging doesn't really work well either :( It's such a shame. The start-up time is a pain, the white balance is always off and it needs to be tweaked... there were just so many misses for me.
Congratulation. Welcome to the Leica world!
Thank you. So far I'm absolutely loving it.
The weight/heft becomes preferable, imo. It feels so solid in the hand. Everything is mechanical, and clunks into place so satisfyingly. Combined with the OVF, it really feels more like a tool than a camera. I remember seeing a Leica demo back in the day where the guy presenting said "we call this the stand test," put his M down on the floor... then stood on it lol. Did a little hop and everything. Camera was like "that it? pansy."
haha, that's amazing. I wonder if it makes a big difference as far as long-term durability goes if you get the brass version compared to the aluminum like I have.
@@vernonsza That's a good question. I kinda assume they're all bullet proof, and I'd opt for aluminum for the bit of weight savings. But I'm on the M240, which is thicc and brass. I like carrying it around NYC because of anything goes down I have a weapon 🤣
Have you look into the Thypoch Simera lenses?..they recently released a 28mm..
I saw that recently and I love the way you can visualize the focusing distance on that camera. But the one thing I'm not too sure about is the size. It's pretty cool that it goes down to 1.4 but I'm not exactly sure how often I would use that on a 28mm lens since most of the time I'm shooting at f/4 or higher so I'm really just looking for something that's really compact. I know that when I get a 35 and a 50 I'm definitely going to be prioritizing a much more fast aperture. Have you tried it out?
I have it, it’s awesome. I think there is reason to have two 28’s … but the Ultron F2 might be too close. I have the Voigt 28 2.8 to make sure there was enough reason to pickup the Thypoch over the tiny 28 2.8. But the quality of the Thypoch is outstanding and MUCH smaller than the Summ of the Q/2/3.
Great review. I hope you bring us great moments with it!
I actually didn't think I was going to be making a video at all, but my wife suggested it and after having so much fun with that I'm definitely going to be making some more hopefully in the near future (next couple of weeks)!
Congratulations on the new M11-P. It is a fantastic camera which I am sure will bring you many many years for great photography. I wish that for you. Don't underestimate that little Voigtlander 28mm Ultron II. It is actually a fantastic lens. I have a collection of the best current generation Leica lenses that I shoot on my M10-P, and my M11. But my prefered 28mm is actually the same VM Ultron II you now have. It is a perfect match design and optically wise for you M11-P. Enjoy!!
Thanks, you definitely reassured me that I didn't make a quick decision by not getting the Leica 28 Summicron. Generally before I buy something like this, I watch a lot of reviews and look through a bunch of images of people comparing the Summicron to the Ultron. And from what I've seen, the Voigtlander is as good or better in most of the areas that I care about. In fact, I think the next two lenses that I'll probably get are going to be the 35mm 1.5 Nokton and the 50mm 1.5 Nokton. Maybe after that, I'll start moving towards Leica territory, but I think that will be a great little setup to get me started.
@@vernonsza I suggest you hold off on the 35mm focal length until develop your full kit better. It is too close to the 28mm you have. A more useful spacing would look like 21mm, 28mm, 50mm, 90mm. The good news is that Voigtlander makes fantastic 50mm and 90mm options at very reasonable prices. The Voigtlander 90mm f/2.8 APO-Skopar is an amazingly good a versatile lens that is often available at low prices on the used market. It is my favorite long portrait and landscape M lens. There are many good 50mm Voigtlander options. Choose the reference 50mm APO-Lanthar for critically correct images if that is what you want. Or choose a Nokton for a dual purpose lense that is dreamy and moody wide open, but very sharp stopped dow. A dual personality portrait and all-around lens depending on aperture selected. For me the 21mm FL is very important for street photography. Unfortunately, I did not like the 21mm M lense from Voigtlander for a variety of reasons. On the other hand the Leica 21mm Super-Elmar is simply spectacular. It is also often available used for a reasonable price by Leica standards. It is my second most used lens. My favorite lens of all time, in all cameras I have ever used is the Leica 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE II (the current version). It is my most used lens and serves as my reference for all others. It is mounted on my M11 most of the time when I go shooting. I suggest you keep this one tell later as your aspirational Leica lens. It simply is that good. I wasn't sure by the video where you were when you went to the leica store to buy your M11. Looked like possibly Italy, but not the Florence or Rome, or MIlan store. In any case, I will be in Florence in June. If you are close you are welcome to try any of my lenses.
+1 for the 28mm ultron v2. I’m glad people are catching on now, it’s still a super underrated lens and one of the best from VM in my opinion. I have used it in my past two trips are every time I see the files I am blown away.
28 and 40 pair well. Like the Voigt 40 1.4 😉
Thank you for a great review! The results are fantastic! If anyone has question about Dehancer, we are always happy to answer them.
Xpro3 has been my favorite camera I’ve ever used. It makes the act of taking images so enjoyable. HOWEVER, I’ve had two and the rear screen died on both. So unfortunately I had to sell it. I loved the rear screen but it’s just too unreliable.
Image quality, stealth, ovf aside…the aesthetics and tactility make this the camera I want to hold more often than any other I’ve owned.
Too pricey for used one! Ha
xpro 2 is much better than this xpro3 crap
Not if you want white balance shift memory for custom film recipe presets. Then the X-Pro3 is at least a million times better then the X-Pro2 - and many other Fujifilm cameras which lack that feature.
Also the X-pro3 is compatible with the new Voigtlander lenses with electronic communication. Makes for a great package with their 27mm f2!
*promo sm* 😠
You can preview your photos thru the actual VIEWFINDER BY hitting play, no need to open the screen. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Love my X-Pro3, OUTSTANDING little camera.
