In 1989 I remember sitting in an art class being harassed by some football deusche bags over 2 or 3 Metallica cassettes one of them took out of my backpack. Don’t get me wrong, I still think everything after Justice until 72 Seasons can all be put on one album called “Garbage Days Visited” but Robert is a badass and I think his influence is why 72 Seasons is as good as it is. It took a while, but he is one of them and they are re-energized. James has also done an excellent job using octave drops and tone change ups to sound good and not like every other lead man from the 80s. Lars is still off beat but it works for them. Kirk still looks like he’s getting ready to climb under someone’s desk with his mouth hanging open like that. All in all, on stage they bring it. For someone who didn’t see them with Burton, it’s great stuff. For others that did, give them another shot.
