Do I recall correctly that if you just start combat mode so that Goris removes his cloak and they will attack him? One of the reasons I prefer to kill everyone in VC after getting combat implants. Goris is simply suich a great companion and "guy". Best close combat of all.

The FO2tweaks mod gives you the option to have near unlimited inventory and car trunk space ... doesn't affect companions though. Dat Explorer is a utility that lets you open the games dat files and edit the proto files for critters/NPCs and items, .... so you could just change the companions carryweights with that.
