Can You Lose Your Salvation? | Chapter 1 of 6
I think the gift analogy was way off and doesn't fit just my humble opinion
❤
I really like the contrast here Caleb. A faith maintained in the flesh being more Temporal. The faith we maintain in God resting upon the unmovable. We constantly negotiate in the flesh regarding relationship. A trust that can be compromised by any number of influencers, including the ones within ourselves. Feelings, moods, circumstances and so mich more contribute to our demise in the flesh. In the spirit, we have a bridge. A steadfast authority of consistency.
God creates each of us without our help or consent. But God will not save any of us without our consent and cooperation with His grace. This video is promoting either the sin of presumption or is teaching that God directs human lives against the will of the human. Both are heresy.
God knows us before our birth. He has consent, from our future selfes that is
Or even before our birth, who knows
Its not works for salvation, but works are a part of obedience. And obedience is partbof salvation. Believing in Christ means you trust in him. If you trust in him, then you trust what his teachings are according to the word. If that is all true then faith without works is dead. It is totally possible for you to be “taken out of the lambs book of life” implying your were once in it. There are many scriptures that point to the same concepts in the ot. The nt confirms the same with hebrews 10:24-26 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins
Heresy doesn't even exist. Neither does holiness, sin, or blasphemy. They are concepts of the mind, nothing more and nothing less. It's called religion.
@@Robert_Class_of_73 neither does Objective morality without God. Also a concept of Religion. But somehow we have an objective truth to this world, even without being told.
You can ABSOLUTELY reject salvation, Hebrews 6...it's the unforgivable blasphemy!
Nope John 10:28
The problem with Judas he had faith otherwise he wouldn't have felt guilty for what he had done. Also it seems odd that if you are religious that you don't have faith. I had faith while being religious. I left my religion because of doubting my faith. When I was trying to convince myself that my faith was in fact true it turned out to be living a lie. The big question is why was Thomas allowed to be shown evidence to ground his belief while the rest of us don't have this courtesy? Also that second verse is a blatant no true scotsmen fallacy.
I feel that, I've been a part of 3 religions/sects and I believe I had some kind of faith in everyone of them. I think people (specifically these channels) view faith differently, than the more common view. Faith is a strong belief, but it's also a tangible thing given by God that's more absolute, like truth or something. If someone or a group believed that the earth is flat and then got more knowledge to say that the earth is round we wouldn't say that they had truth then lost it. We'd say that they never had truth to begin with. Why was Thomas allowed evidence and we aren't? I have no idea lol. Scotsmen fallacy. I guess, but if you believe that there's a God who knows who's who. I don't think it would be a problem. Unless someone who doesnt know whos who starts telling people who's who
No, you can't lose your salvation. Jesus paid for ALL your sins, past and future. Not just some of them. If you trust in Jesus death and resurrection for eternal life and payment of ALL sins, you're saved forever. That's why it's called ETERNAL life, not temporary or probational life.
Eternal life starts immediately after salvation. We can't keep it God keeps it for us. Our salvation is sealed with a Kings seal. No man can be plucked out of his hand
Nobody believed that it’s impossible to lose salvation until the 16th century. Furthermore, nobody believed in the modern “once saved always saved” doctrine that doesn’t require perseverance in the faith until the 17th century. In other words, if you were to make this video before the 16th century, 100% of people would have taught that it is possible to forfeit your salvation. After all, that is what the Lord Jesus, along with every New Testament author, so clearly taught, and that was what was preached all the way from the first century church to the 16th century, and that is what most Christians still believe today.
If you have been truly accepted salvation, you repent, you turn from sin. If you do not repent, then were you truly ever saved? I don’t think so. God knows your heart, humans don’t.
you are lying that is not what Paul said, wow!
Doesn't make it any easier does it? Ultimately it doesn't matter what we believe. Does it? We can believe a lie just as well as the truth. Since everyone can't be right are there some of those preachers damned? If we are close enough to the truth will that be enough? What about those who are right on this subject and wrong in other stuff? What is the number one thing. Jesus.
Hey Scott preciate the comment, could you elaborate?
@TheChristianIgnoramus Starting with belief there are so many and everyone can't be right. Ultimately it's God's plan. It's getting difficult to navigate the waters among believers. It seems lately the disagreement and division has increased among believers. A sign of the times perhaps? I've struggled lately with being open to different perspectives. Mainly because of the hostility associated with it. A reasoned response wins the day, I think. It seems if we can't be reasoned. Giving an account for the hope within, then we can't be open to increasing in wisdom.
@TheChristianIgnoramus ❤️
@ScottStOnge Well said, that's something I've felt too. To give a rhetorical question, how can someone give a reasoned response without information? To me, when I look at some of these channels, I see a lack of information (they don't understand the other side's arguments). That lack of information leads to bad conclusions, those bad conclusions lead to emotional responses, and ultimately, like you say, hostility. I really think if people listened to the other side, we'd see less of that. Not necessarily less disagreement, but most definitely less calling Christians heretics, lol. There's a lot here that I'd love to keep talking about, but I don't have the skills to write a clear response or conversation in a comment section lol. If you'd like to keep talking, my email is thechristianignoramus@gmail.com
@TheChristianIgnoramus A reasoned response I see as coming from an accounting of what exists within us. Compared to another's accounting. Explaining this is why I believe as I do, for these reasons. Not requiring me to tell another that they have to believe and exist as I do. Which enters your question about information. Is sharing what you do understand about their thinking then processing their reasoning. From there we can object or defend our positions.
The Father, with perfect wisdom and power, elects those who are saved. The Son perfectly purchased salvation for all those the Father elected. The Holy Spirit regenerates all those who are elected and conforms them to the image of Jesus. God makes no mistake. Christians persevere to the end. God makes sure of it.
Paul says we become slaves of Gods righteousness. Once You see the truth, You fall in love with God and You cannot escape Your salvation in Him.
Once in grace always in grace is a dangerous belief! You cant murder someone after giving your life to God and just still be ok with God you have to go back on bended knee and ask God to forgive you of that sin. The goal is to strive to be like him. Once you repent you are supposed to not commit sin repeatedly otherwise you arent actually sorry for commiting it in the first place.
Hebrews 6:4-12 “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[a] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. 9 Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case-the things that have to do with salvation. 10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” We cannot rest in assurance, but MUST be diligent in assurance; Because we can lose repentance (and will surely sin again and again, even if we do not perceive it)
You can lose salvation 🤦♂️.
The only dangerous part is that, to accept the eternal offering of redemption, you have to constantly strive, eternally, until death, to walk like christ, with christ, with your cross carried.
AMEN!!! Can't imagine a life without pain and suffering ❤ thank you Jesus Christ
David Platt? This isn't going to age well.
@jeremyvis395 Why's that?
@@TheChristianIgnoramus his utter corruption. The documentary on it is out this week. Google The Real David Platt documentary. His theology went off the rails too.
@@TheChristianIgnoramusDavid Platt is a wolf in sheep’s clothing

easy to say if one isn't saved yet
The Blood of Jesus is sufficient
Christianity has nothing to do with moral or ethical accountability because even the worst person could go to Heaven if they accept Jesus. Salvation in Christianity is based SOLELY on what an individual can convince themselves to be true in the absence of sufficient evidence. That’s why the Christian God is so evil and thankful does not exist.
Thanks for sharing a clip of my video.
Yeah my pleasure, thanks for making it
I can’t get behind this idea that ‘it’s all about the cross’. Didn’t he rise? Didn’t he ascend to his father? Isn’t he active working to patch us through to his father. Let’s take Christ off the cross and remember Christ is alive because that’s why we can believe. Not that he died but that he lives
That's fair. The resurrection is the foundation of our belief, but the cross is cool too. Preciate the comment
If god really wants to get rid of the devil, why doesn’t he just get rid of him?
That is the mystery, all I know is that God is good and knows more than I do. He's got a good reason not to
@@TheChristianIgnoramus either not all powerful, doesn’t care, or wants evil to survive. Any of those reasons is not worthy of worship.
@@TheChristianIgnoramus it’s not a mystery. There is only a certain amount of reasons why he allows evil.
Maybe, but I think there could be more reasons than we might think. For instance, when we look at movies about time travel it's easy as a person in the movie to say the time traveler should do this or stop that, but when we're watching the movie we know that the time traveler has a good reason for what they do or don't do (The Flash not saving his Mom is a good example)
I agree with you. We are saved by God’s grace. You can’t forget that faith is not some nebulous thought though. Faith in its original language is a verb. Faith requires obedience and action on what God has commanded. We are saved through our faith, but having faith means we will do what God asks of us (James 2:14-18).
Agreed, we're saved by faith alone but that faith doesn't come alone, works will follow. However, I would disagree with one part of this comment, in saying that "faith requires obedience". To me, faith produces obedience. Preciate the comment
