We're working on teaching our Shih Tzu-Bichon mix, Sky, the 'Heel' command. This is an important skill for him since his owner lives in an apartment complex and needs to walk him multiple times a day. We're teaching Heel off-leash to allow Sky to make mistakes and learn the right way. We provide feedback when he goes off to the side, and praise him when he stays by our left leg. We also work on other commands like Stay and Down. Overall, Sky is doing really well and learning to be a well-behaved walking companion.
