The four F's simply remind students of some of the blessings that come when students come to seminary and faithfully attend. It can help them understand the WHY, which deepens respect, helping them prepare to attend and be on time. The objective of Seminaries and Institutes....worth reviewing with students! "Our purpose is to help youth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ a...

If you get a chance - take a look at Brother Facer's Content Class for the same chapters. In my diagram of the Plan of Salvation, also known as the Plan of Happiness, Plan of Mercy, and Plan of Redemption, I did not include the spirit world (which I like to draw as a dotted line around the earth), or the words "birth," and "death." Feel free to add what you feel is important to students or use ...

Why does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have the name “Mormon?” We prefer the correct name of the church. The nickname comes from the Book of Mormon - perhaps the most criticized book in the world of Christianity. We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and invite all to read it f...

This would be a good time to send a kind message home to parents explaining how grateful you are to them for helping their son or daughter arrive on time and asking for help in following up with their individual scripture daily reading goals. Some parents may not even be aware that a daily reading goal was established in seminary. See Micro Training #3 on this channel.

      This drawing is a great one as it centers the Atonement of Jesus Christ in the center! But no matter the drawing - we can help students remember the centrality of the Savior, and that we are living the plan. Too many times, students associate the plan with a drawing - rather than living a life centered on principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you!

    This really drives home a couple of things I really took home from our initial training: I appreciate that we were told to cross out the word "cover." I've seen teachers in other places struggle with that. I also recall something (though this might have been elsewhere) to the effect of "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." I love what Travis said about building relationships/creating a safe environment. Thank you for the reminder about our three priorities! I've have many moments of "argh, I really wanted to get that in!" But it's ok!

    Many good concepts here but the greatest line in this is "honoring the struggle". All of us and especially our students, struggle, it's time we own our struggles and to honor it infers that we show respect toward whatever their struggle is. But let me ask a rhetorical question. How can we honor their struggle if we don't even know what their struggle is? It is my opinion that it is our duty and our job to create a safe enough environment where they can feel comfortable revealing what their struggle really is.

Or have your teachers teach their lesson with all the blurbs. Oh my gosh! You made my very night!❤. You rock!

    This looks so much fun. Would you please explain the rotation a) where does the loser from the top of the table go? All the way to the bottom of the table b) does this mean switching sides as Janet suggested in the comments?

    • @sanantonioseminary
      @sanantonioseminary Год назад

      Yep. You got it. The Top Dawg Loser goes all the way to bottom and finds a place to sit on either side...whichever side is open.

  • @janethofmann1401

    I didn’t really understand the rotation explained here so we played it like kings court: winner moves up, looser moves down. Sometimes that means your switching sides to fill the vacancy. Thanks for the idea!
