5v5 makes the game shallow and brain dead, you unload everything on the enemy tank and if they die then you win the fight 🥱

6v6 wasn’t a format issue it was a balance issue left to fester and rot like a disease because blizzard was “working on” the PVE which lead to bunker meta and goats,which has now be fixed because suprise suprise they have thier attention on the main game again I’m sorry to say but 5v5ers genuinely don’t have a leg to stand on,games miserable with one tank and balance is atrocious (need I remind the Hog,Orisa and magua meta?)

OW1 didn’t die because of 6v6. It died because blizzard abandoned the game for YEARS to work on OW2, but they ended up CANCELING OW2 and left us with the problems 5v5 gave us that the devs themselves admitted was a problem.

This man is getting cooked lmao. This might be the worst take I’ve seen in a while. Ow1 only failed cause it had no updates for 3 years. All they had to do to balance it was nerf Orisa sig and bap but nah they decided to remake the whole game. 5v5 is just a failed gamemode. Tank will never feel good to play when you’re the only tank. You ever see that clip where the tanks on both teams are just sitting in spawn constantly swapping to each others counters? How do you find that fun? Blizzard just wanted to get rid of loot boxes so they can monetize more. The only reasons for making a 2nd game are gone. There’s no more pve and 5v5 is gonna be gone after 6v6 comes out and blizzard realizes it’s what we actually want. Never let this man cook again 😂

5v5 has been proved that is worse than 6v6, having only one tank player makes that player get all the blame if their team lose and makes playing that role feel like shit.

How clueless you are. 5v5 does not work cause every tank has giant advantages against some tanks and fall flat against other tanks. This forces a counterpicking neccesity. Unless ure a god on 1 tank char. U even mention that ure whole team blamed u. I dont mind taking away alot of the tanks hp. Look at how long ow 2 has been out. And they still havent cracked how to balance tanks in 5v5. The game has never been worse in terms of tanks. Anr u think it will get better. Laughable

Overwatch didn't die because of 6v6 it died because of lack of support, because they were busy making a unwanted and unneeded sequel, that's just the same game but worse.

Honestly, im glad they are trying to fix this game. Its been cobtinuously dying since they implimented role lock. They couldnt balance open queue enough for comp and the OWL, so they went desperate and locked players into roles. It destroyed queues for damage players. Open queue will always be superior, even in 5v5. 5v5 isnt my prefered, ironically because it feels like i have to do what you said you dont have to do anymore. Feels like im in hell on tank. I cant kill the tank as a damage hero. I cant not heal the tank, or they explode when im on support. That second tank, or 6th player (damage role or tank role) adds to pressure capacity, space control, and peeling potential. The role of the off tank was vital to overwatch (essebtially being a jungler for you moba players). Overwatch isnt an FPS, its an FPM, first person moba, but it was designed differently from the DOTA clones like LoL or Smite.

6v6 wasnt bad, the GOATs meta was. Now there are role locks. The development of overwatch 2 caused lack of updates for overwatch 1. (I am not a overwatch 1 veteran.)

5v5 is trast every good player knows that

They switched from 6v6 to 5v5 because the tank roll was unbearable, and nobody wanted to play it, so there were long que times. 5v5 only fixed the que time (for now), but the tank role is still unbearable to play. I honestly dont care how many teammates there are. it's just a temporary solution for a much bigger problem. Its like taking ibuprofen for a broken leg.

6v6 wasn't screwed up because of the format. It was because of Jeff Kaplan and the balancing team not knowing how the hell to balance it. We have a better balance team now and Aaron Keller is (so far) much better at listening to the community, not saying they're great, but BETTER.

The failure of 6v6 wasnt the format, it was the balance and lack of updates beyond shield meta. There is no reason they couldnt have reworked Orisa, or other tanks in the same format. The switch to 5v5 was a profit driven business move. Not one made for the long term benefit of the game. Bobby made our game a glorified money printer, because Microsoft is pretty fond of buying those.

As a dps main the game isn’t better from our perspective it’s impossible to duel tanks which you could do in OW1 support is gigabuffed with tons of denial abilities bc they have to be to keep themselves alive so they can keep the tank alive the only viable targets to kill most of the time are the enemy dps. Which is an extremely boring gameplay loop. I either contest enemy dps or I poke at a support until their denial abilities are used which can take forever and then I can dive back line and even then it’s a struggle as most of the supports in the game have get out of jail free cards or equal dueling capabilities. In 6v6 it’s possible to take a fight with anyone as a dps and come out on top if I played better it didn’t matter the role. That’s just not the case anymore
