East Coast Lighthouse Tour Day 4
Final day of my east coast lighthouse tour. My final lighthouse was St. Augustine Lighthouse. On my way out of town I caught a glimpse of St. Johns River Lighthouse in Jacksonville, FL. Last stop of the day before heading home was the Boneyard Beach in Jacksonville. I took the day off from lighthouse hopping. St. Augustine was my destination for the day. Old Towne Trolley Tours @HistoricTours provided a hop on and off trolley tour of the city. Day 2 I left Savannah and headed to Sapelo Island. Took a ferry to the island and then took a bicycle to the lighthouse. St. Simons Island lighthouse was next on the list. Enjoyed the view from the ocean. Unfortunately Amelia Island lighthouse gate was closed so I wasn't able to get close enough for a good picture. Made it to St. Augustine. East coast lighthouse tour. Day 1 I visited Tybee Island, Georgia. Tybee Island Lighthouse was first on the list. 2nd I was able to see the Cockspur lighthouse. It is located on the Savannah River in Tybee. Next stop was Savannah Georgia where I would end the day. Today I took to the water in Caryville, TN. I launched at TVA Free Launch at Cove Creek. The creek starts at a small dam where Cove Lake spills into the creek. I paddled and followed the creek to a train trestle the crossed the water. Such a magnificent site. Hope you enjoy!
