Dave Edmunds’ version is my favorite. Love that wall of sound/bobby fuller four guitar twang and of course Dave’s voice is just awesome. Elvis Costello is undeniably a master songwriter and lyricist.

Saw them at Cobo Arena in Detroit. I believe around 1986. I think that was their last performance.

Note for note perfect. This song came out in 1991 right before I moved to Houston, Texas. Two other songs came out then: “Ghost Of A Chance” by Rush, and “She Moves In Mysterious Ways” by U2.
