Their last truly great album . Then John and Exene divorced. And after the mediocre 'Ain't Love Grand' Billy Zoom was gone. 'I Must Not Think Bad Thought' is one of my favorite X songs.

Jawbreaker carried the Bay Area sound for that era. They rocked and it still sounds amazing today
I know some musicians have criticized the 70's studio albums for the studio musicians (blame Kevin Eggers) watering down Townes' songs but they certainly influenced the artist who listened to them. The live albums such as Live At The Old Quarter, Live At Carnegie Hall, and Rear View Mirror (my favorite with the older Townes) are the best examples of his songs.

I didn't know until recently that Paul has a younger twin brother. Also a musician. I saw footage of them performing together in the late 60's and thought it was an A.I. trick. Nope.
That’s a rough deal. Being a twin musician to one of the greatest American songwriters of all time. No matter what the twin tried he could never live up to the expectations of his brother. It’s different but I always felt bad for Dave Davies. Because his songs were good. But as The Kinks evolved less & less Dave Davies songs started appearing on Albums until eventually they were just all of Ray’s songs. I get the feeling that Dave just completely gave up on challenging his brother to get more of his songs put on their albums. It probably definitely contributed to the sour feelings between the two.
@indierockauthority8395 Still, Dave is an excellent guitarist. At least he'll be remembered for that. And he's a fascinating individual. I have a couple Mojo Magazine's with interviews with Dave and he's very open and down to earth. And he has a bit of a mystical side to him. Not in a Jimmy Page way. Fortunately.

Excellent video! I have been a fan of Thomas Dolby since 1981 when I first heard "Europa and the PIrate Twins". I saw him live in concert twice in the 1980s, first in 1982 with Lene Lovich, and in 1988 for "Aliens Ate My Buick". Pure Genius!

A masterpiece!
Bolan's tv show may have been a bit cheesy but it was popular enough for a another season that never happened after Marc died. His introduction to the Generation X performance is hilarious.
You also had Toad The Wet Spocket. Those early 90's organic and sort of mellow kind of rock bands. Those old songs still hold up well.
The debut TTWS album was the first CD I ever owned. I had hundres of cassettes before that; but the debut TTWS album was definitely the first CD I ever owned on The CD front. . A lot of good songs on that album.
