JUSTICE HURSELF JUSTICE BLOWING MESELF MINDS 😊
I just love this woman, I just hate the person you have become! I remember when this episode aired on Jeff Major’s show; Kim was so humble and reachable!
Bring scientists👩🔬 to help to understand this mum 😮😮😮😮😮😮
最高〜!!!❤❤❤
Ms. Reeves always takes us on a journey with her artistry. She is truly virtuosic in her musicality, delivery, placement, and story telling. We're so blessed to have her!
Beautiful! 🥹 What a vocal masterclass 😍😭
Wonder 🤔 how Hollister & Her would sound together ♥️❤
Oooh 😯 👏🏾
🔥 For sure 🤍🤍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎺🎺🎺👏🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🎊🎊🎊✨🪶👑😇❤️🧡
This Song is a masterpiece ! Personally, i like most Played in a jazzy mode like here !
Powerful voice and lyrics, so lifting, I'm so revived, that quickened to pray and stuffu the word.
This is one of my favorites.
Brittany Howard's version of this song in honor of Joni Mitchell at the Kennedy Center was a Masterpiece!👑🦚🎤🎹🎼🎵🎶💝💖💜💎🌹
Stunning interpretation! I find this performance so spontaneously alive and full of honest emotion. She does the unthinkable of making Joni’s song like Strauss’s “Four Last Songs” - beautiful and wonderful at different stages of life. I can’t wait to hear this song when she sings it at 75. While Joni’s version sounded like a young woman coming of age, this version, with only a small amount of the vocal gymnastics she could use, gives us a person that has been through life’s challenges and still loves life and its uncertainty. There’s a joyous wonder in her interpretation. I have a feeling Joni would embrace this version wholeheartedly with love and affection.
This is straight RnB with gospel lyrics and it is beautiful
Dianne Reeves has a beautiful voice and does a wonderful interpretation. But David Torkanowsky adds the most wonderful chord colors to accompany her.
👏👏👏AMEN
Will have it on rotation here in San Antonio on KCHL Gospel 1480! Needs more airplay! What a voice! What an annointing! What a gift! Great Message!
It used to get a lot of air play when she first came out. This is from her 2nd album which was released in 1998. I loved the entire album especially Lift Jesus and Live Forever.
First heard on KPRT Gospel 1590 out of Kansas City. Now I have on my playlist. I live in San Antonio,Tx. &sharing it with all my friends. I'm 72y/o & I think it is a great song. This lovely sister can sing! What a blessing!
I'm sorry, but I find this performance way too mechanical. She's more interested in vocal gymnastics than the deeply existential emotional meaning of the song. She makes the classic mistake of jazzing up and un-jazz-able song in all the wrong ways. She's an amazing vocalist, but I hate this rendition of a truly great song. The meter is off. I'd rather listen to Joni. Many other great vocalists have done this way better. Even Coda's version is fantastic and a true example of not just singing the song beautifully, but conveying the emotion. I recognize her enormous talent but the power of the song is in the message and this trivializes that, much akin to singing the National Anthem the same way.
I couldn't disagree more on each and every point you make.
Bless your ❤
Also, there’s a history behind this song. Joni Mitchell was not famous when she wrote the song so she deferred it to, against what she felt was right, Collins, whose version she did not like. Although Collins made the song, extremely famous, Joni felt that she didn’t convey the message properly. It wasn’t until Joni was able to record it herself, and had gained her own fame before she stated what she really felt. This is way more mechanical than Collins’ version. Singing isn’t just about talent, especially with a song like this. It’s about conveying the emotion of the song to which the singer fails miserably. It’s not about dancing chords, it’s about life.
Do you like Seal's version?
@@klepp19 thanks for asking. I assume you mean the tribute to Joni Mitchell. Yes, I do like that version but I’m not in love with it. It is deeply emotional, however, in the moment and quite moving. And quite an evocative arrangement musically. I think Emelia Jones does the best version of the song in the movie Coda, other than Joni, of course.
She is awesome and the Lord gave her a awesome voice . She is my favorite gospel singer .
I play this song everyday it’s beautiful
❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Love this Nancy and the Basie Ochestra, The 👌
Nice voice, good singer, but this song has too few words per bar to be a ballad!
That was beautiful!! Love this version!
Yes!…On KCET tonight “A Joni Mitchell Song Book” Lalah Hathaway 🔥 too. 😌
😩😩😩🙌🏽
Omg the way she ended it 🔥🔥🔥
Singing praises to our Lord is the Best way to begin a new week is this life we live on earth!!!
Nice piece of art, piano/amazing vocals...
Show
Always loved hearing Nancy Wilson with the Count Basie Band. And really lucky to hear her with the band at Carnegie Hall.
I'm here after watching CODA.
I saw NANCY around this time at MARLOW THEATRE CANTERBURY KENT UK.. But just with a jazz trio not with BASIE ORCH ... She was MAGICAL . RIP NANCY XXX
Brava Ms. Reeves.
I would love to know what year this was
I really think this is from 2005. This song came out in 1998, but this TV program is called "Gospel Of Music with Jeff Majors" and it was on from 2005-2008. Also, in the other live clip where she performs "Holy Ghost",, the watermark screenbug for TV One used in that clip was used from 2004-2006. So this had to be 2005
I get Holy Ghost chills when she sings!!!!
She is undoubtedly vocally gifted, but sometimes she riffs a little TOO much. She literally riffed the whole song lol.
And I loved every single riff. Every run. Ah tah!
Don't know what to say😫🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've heard a lot of renditions/covers of this wonderful song, from Joni Mitchell herself at various times in her life, to the incomparable Neil Diamond, and I truly think this is the best by far. It's calmly, deeply emotive, and very evocative of the magnificent depths of the emotions in this incredible piece of music 🎶 ❤ 👌
Agree. I am a Joni aficionado and I've been present to see and hear this song performed live by many artists, including Joni. I saw Dianne Reeves perform "Both Sides Now" in Hollywood in or about 1996 -- and have heard no better rendering before or since.
Julie Richards@ I was thinking the same, that this is the best rendition/cover of this song that I’ve heard. Of course, Joni Mitchell wrote the song and I’ll always love listening to her sing it, but I love the emotion that Dianna Reeves puts into this beautiful song.
@@bronzevenus7381Brittany Howard's version was superb too, she did it in honor of Joining Mitchell's Kennedy Center Tribute!👑🦚🎤🎹🎼🎵🎶💖💝💜💙💓🌹💖
2:50 Fire Kim!
I'm not a christian, but that touched me deeply. Such lyrics, such arrangements. Very 90s, gospel and beautifully done.
That ascending run she did at the end just sbout sent chills through me
What year was this?
I'm still trying to figure out. Looks like one person in the comments said something about the 90s ... could be possible they're correct
@@christiankelly6321 it came out in 1998 but this show was on from 2005-2008, and the logo they used for TV One broadcast was from 2004-2006, so this had to be around '05 or '06, cause Kim's hairstyle in this video gives off more 2000's era than '90s
@@JT-pb3fx Wow ok, I see. Feels about right. The video quality was what was leading me to think it could've been in '98 as you said. But true, I can see 05,06
Someone else sang this. A group of sisters I’ve heard this before years ago
🗣THAT ENDING...🤯 Whew....
Here before the other tiktokers start commenting😂. Gots to follow through
that riff from 4:34 to 4:42 need to become a challenge
2021 and she's blowing my mind like I never knew her before. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🙌🏿🙌🏿💜💜
Yeah me too
I love your voice, you have one of the most unique voices that I've ever heard in my life, and I listen to a lot of music, gospel music, R&B, country, and Jazz. You keep putting those praise songs out there and many of us will continue to listen to your beautiful and praise the Lord even more from what you're singing, you so blessed, and I thank YOU LORD, for blessing us all !!
