My favorite!
Mine too
Very nice.
Another 1976 good one
Isn't life basically a blue plate special?
Seems so
I really like this!
Thank you Cathy! Have a great day!
Very nice. Has the feeling of a beautiful morning.
Those cicadas were tough recording. They fly off first sight of a mic.
Straight down the line, for better for worse
Good song! I like the interconnecting of themes of the classic film with old train photos!
Thank you for listening & explaining the parts you enjoyed!
Very strong yet mellow... sounds like a ballad of judgement yet hope filled.... light, fire and sword.
Yes. Isn’t His sword His cross/sacrifice…as well His Word (He is the Libing Word)? Didn’t He beat Satan with both God’s Word & through the cross? Good insights and happy it seems more hopeful than dire…although I want it/intend it to be a wake-up, “clanging bell”.
Baseball and the blues: good combination! Thanks!
Glad you like it!
Very nice!
Yay! Go Tigerzzzzz!
It was pure like a picture of Babe Ruth legs dropped into place on this video where the song says. “can’t run the basis to save my soul“. Everyone knows Ruth couldn’t run very fast, he had short legs, that’s why he had to hit home runs. it’s an existential song about Covid on the surface… It’s about being a songwriter who never has a hit on the subliminal surface. Or at least I think so, but what do I know lol?
It turned out surprisingly well. I’m using a lot of pictures from up here because they seem to say what I’m feeling. I think it’s a peaceful message but also a bit of a gentle bell ringing for people to make a decision for Christ. At least I pray so. I sent it to a friend of my name Len. We knew each other in high school at Tech. She recently wrote me about her beliefs and I wrote her some witnessing about verses in the Bible. Please say a prayer for Lori. She’s a good person and a very creative fighter. I told her that a lot of her views Jesus said in the Bible, so she’s actually a Christian lol. Let’s pray she takes it to heart.
A cute rhythm and pace. I'm just not sure by the pictures if Anna knows what to do in said kitchen 😮
My thoughts exactly
Sweet and mellow... the contrasting pictorial hint at the different ways the title could be interpreted.
As you know, this song really hit me. 72, their areas of my physical being worth I have to let the old man in. But I don’t have to let him change how I respond to those changes. And that’s in my mind. That’s why I Don’t Let the Old Man In, God is my defense, and God is my use in this my old age
You have to be a certified goofball to like this song Can't help myself. I like it 😁
Given the world and my place in it at 72, the last thing I need to worry about is whether my toilet is completely sanitized or not. I only just realized this song was influenced by John Prine, who is the best writer around or was until he passed away my goodness you should hear his album fair and square. Especially the song “the glory of true love“. I also like “your flag decal won’t get you into heaven anymore“
Very robust lyrics; triumphant! Fantastic instrumental arrangement!
Stan, as I mentioned to you during your visit, the lyrics came to me in the morning while I was showering, and when I first woke up, I simply heard the phrase “high on a mountain“ and I knew the melody had to be just two chords and it had to be Bluegrass. I whipped up a quick arrangement and sent it to Kip, who would like it so much he added many things to it, including mandolin as good as Ricky Skaggs played, and suggested we do a CD… Which resulted in the broken CD this year
I especially like the emphasis on the need for guidance and the trust in His Mercy... according to Scripture, that's God's welcome mat!
I wrote this in the depth of depression. Certain I had chosen the wrong medical career, having been more independent in the past while in the military as a medic. Finding this song from years back, and looking at where God is placed me now confirms what David said… King David that is: God hears and answers our prayers. God sees and wipes away all of our tears.
