The only way you can truly be "green" and brag to other people how your shithole is the same bright color as your face, is when you will have a full on solar panel system, huge deep cycle battery bank, and no connection with the grid, no gas, no water mains, no electricity, no sewage. This is the only way you can be "green". Because if you use mains electricity to power your heat pump then you the same as everyone else, because you are not using gas to heat your home, but you are using electricity which is generated by coal burning powerplants. So by using heat pump you are creating no emissions in your home, but you are contributing to massive co2 emissions from the power grid. If you don't have solar panels, use gas instead, not a heat pump, because gas, especially in a combi boiler, burns so efficiently, that the little sprinkle of co2 you generate by using a gas boiler to heat your tiny home is much less that compared to the same energy used by your heat pump from the mains electricity that is generated using coal fired electric generator plants. Plus Heat pumps are not green at all, well they kind of are. But if you are that kind of capitalist who buys a new car every two years and rives BMWs with blue smoke clouds after you, then you probably like to upgrade your systems and when you dismantle a heat pump very rarely does someone use a special refrigerant device to collect all the used refrigerant to save the atmosphere. No. Almost all people just snip the tube run away and wait for it to stop hissing. That is what bothers me about this new born asshole-same-color-as-my-face supposed "green" generation. You are not green at all, stop pretending. You do not clean the oil from the soil that drips from your broke ass car, you do not pick up trash after yourself, you do not think about all the chemicals ,pesticides, herbicides you spill into the wild so that your peach tree can be pest free. You just brag about it. There is no sustainable green solution in this world, the only one is go live with a leaf on your dick into a forest and live in a cave and eat berries all year long. That will be green living. Even if you have state of the art solar system, batteries, heat pumps or geothermal heating, you can not call yourself green, because all your stuff will eventually break and it will have to be replaced, and when that time comes, and btw it will come since solar panels drop in their efficiency dramatically in the first few years, the stuff you will throw out will be either thrown into a landfill that will leach poison and microplastics into the earth for thousands of years, or it will get shipped to India where 5 year old children with barefoot and no gloves or masks in a factory setting will have to dismantle your shit and the maybe they'll get fed in the evening. All in all, its good that you are thinking about the environment. But don't you dare call yourself better than anyone else. We are all fucked in the head capitalists and all of us need to die at once if we want to actually save our planet.

In the UK; In a hybrid system; yes I can see their place. As a stand alone unit here, no; not so much.
