So if Pardison wrote the whole song but the words “I’m the baddest chick in game” which Cardi wrote…then he’s a co writer. Not the ghost writer of the whole fkn album. Lol. Obviously I’m being sarcastic. But he wrote most of the songs. And no one cares?? I do. She is lying to everyone then. Anytime she says something about her music. She should say I had help from….

Why are less talented white pop artists always where they need to be? That Carpenter girl is the new it girl of pop starts and she isnt doing anything new or interesting. She is pushing the same sexy image that Chloe is. Are Black audiences being too discerning? Because the white girls and Lqbtq audience are paying for anything these white girls doCamilla Cabello is no talent but the girls support her.

I love me some Chloe! I think ultimately it has to do with the music she puts out. Beyonce give both ladies full creative freedom on the albums/songs with notes. Chloe needs to find a healthy medium between what she wants, and what her fans want.

Normani is Boring. She’s been letting all of her fans down for some time now. I understand her parents were sick. It’s so unfortunate for her. And Normani has no personality. Even when she performs dancing hella good, face be stiff asf. She’s too robotic and it feels like she’s an industry plant. That’s why Coco is the breath of fresh air.

Her label did everything tight she just started her career on the wrong foot so it’ll take her of continued good preformance and better songs to get on ppls mind again plus I think there letting her grow in peace with all the cameras bc when she first came out everything was recorded and she looked crazy they letting her grown in peace soon enough they’ll probably try and push her heavy again hoping we forget all the crazy she’s done bc for some reason you can’t even find those old clips of bad preformances loli video or anything

Nah this is definitely Columbia's fault. Parkwood does decent as a managed though irrespective of Columbia. All their new artists arent getting the push they deserve. Go look at who they have signed and how you barely know any of them. The public wont supoort you if they rarely see or hear you and thats on Columbia. They barely if at all give any of their artists radio play. Look at stunt they pulled with Beyonce and Texas Hold Em. They purposely let the fans think country radio wouldnt play them only for days later for it to come out that they hadnt even released the single to country radios to play as they initially didnt want to pay them to play the single. Its why 16 carriages didnt get radio play on country radio despite that initially the song was getting more views and streams, only Texas Hold Em. Even Lil Nas X dropped a mixtape recently because Columbia aint pushing him and he had a number 1 album not long ago. Even Iniko who they literally fought every other label for is having the same issue as Chloe in terms of views. Iniko topped billboard alone and the minute they signed with Columbia their views tanked and interest left. Yeah. No. Interest didnt leave that quick. These record labels turn their backs on their artists quick. The pandemic didnt help with their greed. They want to hoard their money and have these artists promoting themselves which is foul because that is their job. Look into all the new artists that signed with Columbia and who left after only one album. Many of them have done interviews about Columbia and their way of doing business. You should probably do more reasearch because none of the current artists will talk negatively about their label. They will be cut loose quickly. Some other labels will force artists to complete their contracts. Columbia isnt one of them.

I think this is a case of an artist and their label having two separate ideas of what the artist’s image should be. I’d wager that Parkwood assumed Chloe would keep making the neo-alternative music she made in CxH, and when she didn’t and said she wanted to be in the same lane as Beyoncé they probably haven’t been as supportive. I’m thinking of that moment where her album was coming out and she was crying and said someone she really respected said the music wasn’t good enough. Visually Chloe gives IG model but as a performer she’s checking all the boxes.

Great video! They're both amazing artist. Normani is a multiplatinum selling artist. Not only in the US but in other countries too. Before anyone says "well most of them are collabs and that's why they performed well" They mentioned that they are equally billed on Love Lies and Dancing with a Stranger. Without an album out, Normani is still able to get brand deals and invited to events. Not to mention she has already received a breakout award for her acting debut in Freaky Tales during Sundance. All the A-list celebrities love her. She's unproblematic and people try to call her boring because she does not put her business out there (rightfully so after she was racially bullied online) People also want her to be a villain for some odd reason so they are grasping at straws to find something wrong. I'm not saying you have to like her music but the bullying is uncalled for and unnecessary. I'm glad she seems happy and I can't wait for Dopamine to drop on June 14th!

There is no comparison. They're both dark skinned women with the same management. Thee end. I love both but I'm definitely a Coco Co-Caption! Normani is amazing but needs consistency. She drops the ball once things heat up and I think that's been get downfall. I pray get family is well and she can fully commit to music but her inconsistent releases have been get downfall. Coco Jones has been on our necks since she got another chance in the industry as an adult and has not let up. She's consistent, she's engaging, she's collecting her checks and making sure we see her. She's also performing like crazy. Honestly if Normani had the same press run as Coco I think she would be way bigger than where she is currently. She needs to commit to her music and stay in our necks with performances, releases and engaging with her audience.

ICU is a classic Grammy Winner! Coco Jones Is Adding to her core fanbase so Coco Jones is ingrained in our Culture as well..Normani came from American Got Talent & a group Fifth harmony then Motiviation popmusic came out a Hit the she did single fair a ballad it didn't do well vocal wasn't there. Normani & Coco Jones are differentr path Coco Jones been in the industry since 12 y.o R&B is her lane and she killing it.

Ayo , Chloe, I think the issues are an easy fix. See below for some suggestions as to how.. •Perfect the biz of the music *biz*: Chloe seems to lead w/ passion & her art, 1st. Unfortunately, bc her art is a commodity , her/ her team can afford to tighten their strategy, placing my emphasis on their financial support = the fans. The fans/ general public continues to share what they don’t enjoy and it doesn’t seem as if Chloe is appropriately considering it. I’m not saying become a robot. Find balance between putting your ppl on and giving them what they want. •The new album: If Trouble in Paradise is still happening, I suggest that the sonics stay w/ pop vibes but lean more into how Body Do/Have Mercy feels/sound. Boy Bye is dope but super niched. Also we need more cohesion. FYS and Boy Bye feel starkly different. This continues to paint the picture that Chloe hasn’t found her angle yet. •Release order/ climate consideration: I think she should have dropped Boy Bye first and saved FYS for early fall. By the way, FYS is a 🔥FIYA❤️‍🔥 song but due to current release strategy, it has fallen flat. Dang. FYS screams early fall. When it’s time to cuff a love interest. • Disclaimer, I’m hoping this reads well.. Chloe with the locks and her futuristic style of dress, clashes w/ the type of R&B she makes. FYS goes well the aesthetic of her recent pic👉🏾where she has the straight hair and the WET Kanye West shirt. The Chloe w/ locs goes well with Boy Bye, Body Do, Feel Me Cry. We want Chloe to become super intentional about every part of her brand. In every era we want to see her connect the dots. Because she’s parkwood and have peers who are doing this, we expect the same. Also, it’ll help minimize the chatter around her seeming to be all over the place. • Pivot and release an EP〽️ I wish this was the original plan. Doing so would give Chloe a chance to stay present on the musical front. She could also continue to generate money while building her catalog. Building her catalog adds to set listing for live shows and tours. Additionally, it could allow her more appropriate room to explore different sounds and aesthetics. •One more Chloe and Halle album🫶🏾 They parted right when the general public was starting to accept their entry into adulthood. Returning would allow them to reset in that space. Also, musically they balance each other out. That balance, along with supporting each other’s exploration of new sounds, could pave the way for their solo careers. They were cooking during the pandemic. It seems as if they got excited that we were excited lol We could’ve waited though. In closing, I pray Chloe doesn’t stop and just re-strategize. She has what it takes. The management and creative leaders need to approach the biz part better.

I don’t get the coco and normani comparison cuz there’s nothing similar about them other then being black there music are 2 completely different vibes coco music is pure vocal r&b that gives a 90s feel and normani music is r&b and pop vibe with a 2000s feel and more of a dance feel they also don’t perform the same that’s like comparing Ciara to Jennifer Hudson makes no sense

Columbia Records sucks when it comes to promoting the girls. Parkwood books her for jobs but they barely posts her on their page. Columbia records refuses to give them radio play or billboards like other artist signed to them. I don't understand how they expect them to reach a bigger audience if we never hear their music on the radio. They also don't pay for them to have paid promotion on youtube or tik tok.

  • @Poufkimashoula1
    @Poufkimashoula1 4 месяца назад

Nope, not Parkwood's fault. As a management company, they helped her get brand deals, access to events & publicity that new artists of her caliber can't dream of having. They kept her busy too. It really comes down to her music, her image/personna and the marketing (which are why I lost interest). PS.: "Boy Bye" is not the kind of music I want from her, but it's surprisingly her better song. The replay value is crazy. I can't stop revisiting it.

If you see something trending on your Twitter it usually means people or things that you follow or is following you is being talked about. So it’s not the general public. I agree with everything you said. People are quick to blame the "machine" for why an artist isn't successful. The label and management can do everything they can but it is up to US to actually support and make these artists successful. People started to latch to Victoria after "On My Mama" but where was these "fans" when she was grinding and putting out amazing music that practically went nowhere. My favorite Victoria Monet's project is Life After Love. People also love to complain why Kelly Rowland isn't as big as Beyonce. Well, if people would have actually supported her, she would have been. And then people like to say Chloe should do R&B when Chloe and her sister Halle never been traditional R&B singers. Like shut up and let Chloe create and do the music that she wants to do. It's all annoying. Blaming the label, blaming management, blaming the songwriters yet they don't even support the music.

  • @97tinawill

Love this! You spoked the truth. Black people don't support enough, and it's disappointing. Medicore Taylor Swift gives bare minimal and has lots of support. Chloe performs from the heart and gets shit. I love "FYS" more than "Boy Bye"; it just didn't get that much of attention as I hoped.

That’s not what she’s saying tho lol her message is saying we support who we like. Ppl aren’t supporting because they aren’t taking to her. So everyone is confused as to why. I have thoughts.

I’m not a Taylor Swift fanatic but she is a great songwriter. I believe that is what draws her fans in. Chloe on the other hand is a nice songwriter. But at times there is a serious disconnect from her and what she writes. I don’t feel the authenticity. She’s also dropping f bombs in her songs. It just sounds forced.

Yea but it took her 6 years and she is not an engineer or producer. There are new legends holding albums almost have no features and only themselves, these female artists are - DOJA and TINASHE. Lets talk about what's really happening in the industry. Because this next era is all about those two ladies, they are slowly marking history and reigning the new take over of the industry.

@user-nq5ft1cb9s I found Tinashe to be talented, skilled, resilient, and confident in her identity. But for some reason, it doesn't translate to the public. They don't f*** with her. She does everything people claim they want from a superstar, yet, they don't propel her to that level even after more than a decade into her craft. Why is that?

The only reason people would compare Coco and Normani is because they are new, in the rb space, and dark skinned lol. Coco Jones is balladeer and is gaining critical acclaim quickly, but people seem to keep forgetting that Normani has several hits on the charts without an album. Comparing the strategy for their careers is silly because they are trying to do to separate things on stage

I saw that thread, about Normani, when it first posted… I took time before forming an opinion about it. I think the host, of this show, response is very accurate. I’ll add more to it tho. As a CoCo and Normani lover/ supporter.. like I like both enough to love their art and they both have the energy that’s attractive enough for me to date. Which brings me to my definition of the it factor: the opposite sex should want to date you and the same sex should look up/ want to be you. If an entertainer doesn’t have that impact… I think their career is a downhill fight. Coco definitely has the star/ it factor. While Coco is very attractive, most of her draw sit with her being the role model for the older Gen z, females. Echoing that, she has more moments where she can creep into the homie space for the guys. Don’t let those statements erase that, overall, she is still seen as attractive and relatable. Here’s where her opportunity sits… her beautiful personality is a gift/curse. It’s so big and infectious, it proceeds her. If her personality isn’t properly managed, it could overshadow her as an artist. Think of Tamar Braxton as an example. Because Coco has stated from her mouth that music is her first love..being a singer dancer is her priority… I think her team needs to make sure that is what we see first. They’re doing good so far. The plentiful content everyone speaks of… yeah, they need to always make sure it circles back to her music. If not, she could end up being seen as an influencer/ personality, instead of a singer. Normani also has the star/it factor. She has a natural, effortless draw/ attractiveness. Her energy/ type of women, to me, is close to the type of woman Beyonce presents as. (Note, I see a lot of Bey in Coco too) As for Bey and Mani.. both are naturally sexy, can tell they’re goofy with their safe ppl… very down to earth (slightly classy ratchet lol) and are meticulous about their art. Also, they’re very private and unbothered by the ego part of celebrity. This reads so well and is part of why Normani doesn’t have to be out there, as much as others, but still trend. She doesn’t have to try.. she just is. Here is her issue tho… I don’t think Normani is aware of how dope she is. The lack of confidence, that many detect … I think that’s real. I think Normani struggles with esteem in a way that’s even hard for her to understand. Hear me out , isn’t it funny that artist like Sza and Chloe fight to be seen as pop yet the general public/ industry, places Normani there, with more ease? Note, this is despite her being the darker one out the three. This is where colorism should work against her. While colorism is still a thing, something about how Normani’s aura intersects with her initial aesthetic that has made accepting her in that space… easier. She’s genuinely a girly girl…. She loves having her bundles and heels on. She naturally does sassy, jazzy funk and burlesque choreography. She’s a bright but poised Gemini. So is my daughter lol that’s legitimately them. Men want to date her and some black girls want to be her. However, while Coco leans more into rebatable space, Mani, oppositely, lean more into her sexy. Similarly, they both balance out and overall, have enough of both sides. In short, I think the person with the best work ethic, along with Gods will, is going to determine who is the next big thing. I’m old enough to remember when Beyonce first went solo and how all the *it* ladies were fighting for a spot. It was Ashanti, Mya, Beyonce, Amarie, Brandy and Ciara. Rihanna came a lil after that lol Those times felt just like now lol. It was an exciting moment and look how things settled. Cheers to the new era 〽️

Interesting take. I quite only see it for Normani. The others are so focused on competing with her and dropping near her that they never stay in tune with their true audience. They want normani fans to be their fans but they don't realize they have to be normani to do that. Coco should be brightening her sound and adding more youthfulness to her catalog. If anything she could learn from normani is not taking herself too seriously and making so many breakup songs. Vocally and aesthetic is beautiful. However predictable song choices a will typecast her. Normani can do more live performances to show her true vocal ability especially to boost 1:59.
