a multi step change to the new timetable makes a lot of sense. before crr though, implementing it may require more at grade crossovers, due to the change in sectorisation and track layout being optimised to that (the sunshine coast line would have to cross over at some point with the ipswich line, for instance, if they were in different sectors before crr), which could be a reason why they would be hesitant to do so, at least in peak times. it is challenging for me to think of a change to the current sectorisation that wouldnt involve something problematic for peak operation. off peak and weekends they would almost definitely have the maneuverability to be able to change things up, whether or not this will create more confusion for commuters is also a thing to consider. i completely agree with changing ipswich line to full time express, the springfield line should be increased to 15 mins off peak if that is done.

Today I traveled from East Ipswich to Landsborough, using the same platforms that the Airport lines uses. . . . . so it can be done. On weekends, platforms 8 and 9 at Roma Street, are not used at all.

I think the cross river rail should have been a city circle to connect all lines. Instead they have created a mess which will like usual not connect well between lines, like the rest of translink services. The only one thing I want from cross river rail is all train services, every single line, run on a 15 min frequency like most other cities in Australia. People will only use public transport if it connects and it’s frequent , the price only plays a small bit. If public transport consistently stuffs you around, no one will think the 50c fares are worth it. The metro service is a complete waste of money. It will not fix anything except having a few extra spare busses. Maybe will be better when they expand metro to the airport. So yea I like the idea of having express Ipswich trains all the time. But if it takes away the 15 mins frequency, then no, not good for anyone expect Ipswich passengers, even then they will still need to wait 30 mins. Transport is getting better in Brisbane , but to me feels like it’s been planned by people who never use it often, only for photo opportunities

I think we will have to wait for YEARS to get an underground railway that both serves growing areas such as ALBANY CREEK, and inner locations such as PADINGTON, but perhaps if a line from say, COORPAROO to ALBANY CREEK and PETRIE, which would take the pressure off the PETRIE and CLEAVELAND lines. Meanwhile, the METRO BUS system could be expanded to places such as IPSWICH and FOREST LAKE, as well as the routes already announced. RAIL is the long term answer, though!

Brisbane has been, for some reason, anti Tram! At least in Sydney, a number of tramway lines have been built with great success. I mean, twenty years ago, if you said, one day they will have TEN CAR TRAMS in George Street, you would be laughed at! The THOUSANDS of fires caused by LITHIUM BATTRIES is ignored, but if there is a Fire in a Busway Tunnel, which I Pray not, then the questions about what to do, will be asked! There are TRACKLESS TRAMS that have 750 volt overhead, in Paris. . . . . . .why not in Brisbane? Then you could have five car trams. HOWEVER, the existing Busway Stations would need to be DOUBLE their current size. . . . . OK, so DO IT!

I have pointed out a number of times, even to QR itself, that every train on the IPSWICH line should be an express, with the all stations train following the express, from Darra to the City. I am far from being an expert, but it should be possible to change the End Points on the lines, NOW and not after the CRR opens. Ipswich to the Airport and Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast. Expecting to do all of the route changes on the SAME DAY that the CRR opens, is bound to face problems! But, who am I to say? Just a thought.

Breakfast for eastbound up to and including Toowoomba. However everyone gets the dinner pack leaving Roma Street. Sometimes if I feel like a slow day will take the day return from Laidley to Roma Street and back on a Thursday. The subsidy on this train is massive, about $4500 per passenger. It's a mad fluke the train still runs at all.

I have outlined a way to have a twice daily train service from Sydney to Melbourne and Sydney to Brisbane, using the CAF train sets for the DAYLIGHT services and a refurbished XPT for OVERNIGHT services, having the existing sleeping cars. In general, I do not talk Pie in the Sky. . . . but Cost Effective viable services. On AMTRAK services. many train trips of longer than TEN HOURS have a snack bar LOUNGE. . . . and I believe that CAR C on the XPT should be converted to a full snack bar lounge. As is the case on the Spirit of the Outback, and Spirit of Queensland, trains. You would say. ah, but those are 25 hour trips! Quite correct, but the 14 hours Sydney Brisbane service, should have a lounge car! The OVERLAND has a lounge car. . . . so why not the interstate XPT services?

Two locomotives for 3 carraiges doesnt seem very economical. I wonder what the average passenger loading is, and whether the majority of passengers pay the full fare. If not they should cancel the service. As there is no sleeping accommodation, a coach would be more cost efficient and probably quicker

    • @johncoyle777

Was he second unit, running? I may have just been moved. As I discussed, either two existing sitting cars are converted into RAIL BED CARS, which is my first choice, or a high quality Sleeper Bus, with fully lay flat seas are built, but the regular 'run of the mill' buses, are NOT suitable. Yes, buses are faster. TWICE AS FAST on he INLANDER route, 12 hours V/S 21 hours for the train. That sleeper bus would leave Townsville at 9.00am and arrive in Mt Isa at 9.00pm. Departing at 11.00pm, arriving in Townsville at 11.00am, next day. On a related mater, the SOQ COULD operate six days a week, and an articulated Sleeper Bus, once a week. Creating a DAILY service from Brisbane to Cairns. I will make a video on his subject, as it is worthwhile discussing.

Many years ago, the LANDER trains were untouchable politically, those days are long gone, but the WESTLANDER and INLANDER, linger on. My view is, a regular style of BUS service is NOT suitable for both routes. Sleeper Buses exist all over the world including in JAPAN which has similar seats to the SPIRIT of QUEENSLAND, 2+1 seating. Double Deck sleeper buses run between Auckland and Wellington. . . . with lay flat BEDS! So, either two sitting cars are converted into RAIL BED SEATS and used on those trains, or high quality Sleeper Buses are used. I do not sit up overnight on a train or bus.

Well all of there problems that you speak of, I quite sure they have been addressed. And any system that has any type of rail is much more expensive to install and maintain. So as you said how will a double articulated vehicle accommodate more people well we must look a the frequency of the service. It is possible to make it work and when there is a rail and non rail vehicle can go around problems when a rail vehicle cannot. So give the agency a chance to work out the bugs. This project just my work.

I agree in that there will be a slight improvement on the direct routes served, however, I have heard that a number of bus routes will be CUT BACK to a Bus Station along the way. Thus, people will STAND waiting to reach their bus station to transfer to the route needed, for onward travel! PROBLEMS from day one! Still, of course, I plan on riding on the first day of service, early next year.

What you have said is factually untrue. So much for despising lies. Zero mention of a 'new parliament', or any sort of tax on white people or whatever scare-mongering dribble people can come up with. What is known is that it is literally just a consultation body, which would have had zero actual influence on policy making. 'Full of half casts'. The reason there are so few full blooded aboriginals is because they were ethnically cleansed, children stolen and placed in homes to be taught 'whiteness'. You've clearly never read the history of this country. I find it funny that people who complain about mixed bloods taking their 'black side', always choose their 'British' side in discussions about monarchy or 'culture'.

  • @sirivia7208
    @sirivia7208 9 месяцев назад

The monarchy is opposed because it's existence is unjustified. No one of any family line should have divine rule over others. That's it. It doesn't matter if it hasn't affected Australia. That's not the point. If it can't be justified on principles, it shouldn't exist. Just because you live in a safe neighbourhood, doesn't mean you shouldn't lock your car. It is absurd to advocate for a family who won a war centuries ago to be your head of state, despite not even living in your country. Hypothetically all it takes is a Kim Jong Il type to be that monarch, and you're saying goodbye to democracy. They aren't even subject tobthe same taxation laws, like inheritance tax. 'If it's not broken, don't fix it' is literally retarted. You could have Jesus himself as our ruler, and it still wouldn't be justified on principle.

You've contradicted yourself. You acknowledged that the voice had no impact on the renaming of K'gari, Uluru, etc. yet go on to say the government can just change it (they wouldn't have been forced to, it's just advice as you acknowledge). I don't understand how the names of places is more important than the welfare of a group of people who endured genocide, ethnically cleansed. The goal of a voter should be to maximise the welfare of those around them, not attach themselves to flags, songs, symbolism, 'culture', names etc. They mean nothing and hinder critical thought.

Thanks for the view of the port terminal, we just cruised the Wonder last week in NZ and have just booked for 2024 out of Brisbane so great to see the terminal and understand the arrangements we will need to make to get there

If going by car, use navman. Beware of the VERY high parking fees, at $60.00 an HOUR. . . . . yes, you read that right. We had to drop of the passengers at the terminal and park some distance away, to get an affordable place to park! My best advice on cruises is to pre purchase tours in port cities, and those are MUCH CHEAPER than the tours sold on the ship.

Living near Laidley, now and again we'll take a day trip to Brisbane on the Westlander on a Thursday. It's pretty good value, a relaxed trip and you get the included tea and coffee on the way east and the dinner pack leaving Roma Street. Slow, but a nice change from driving.

I am also disappointed they are not guided on designated, dedicated perway. I am surprised Brisbane took this approach. And I am surprised it is costing so much for so little benefit.

Firstly, Tram Painter, I hope that you are safe and well. I was deleted from FLICKR, so lost 10,000 photos and many contacts, including you! I plan to make a video after the opening day of the so called BRISBANE METRO. . . . . . an absurd system as it should have been five section vehicles, call it a guided bus or call it a trackless tram. . . . . instead we are getting a simple double articulated electric bus! The bus stations should have been doubled in size to take a suitable vehicle as discussed.

@@johncoyle777 particularly the upgraded KSD out to Hamilton north shore where the Olympic athletes will be. What is the solution to move inbound towards the city/gabba quickly from Hamilton. Currently the bus trip is SLOW. It needs a connection to the RBWH off the ICB westbound if all we get is metro.

Whilst I do not want to upset the apple Cart, I would be willing to bet that there will be NO OLYYMPIC GAMES in 2032 as WW3 will take place, devastating the Northern Hemisphere. The war in Israel will expand to a major regional conflict, Turing worldwide. @@JamesFFiT

This is nothing like what Metro Tasmania is planning for Hobart there planning trams not buses that look like trams or trackless tram

RBWH station terminus is too small. It’s just moving the people to wait there to transfer rather than in KGS for example. It’s too crowded now in the afternoons. It’s good tho, every few mins service! 24 hours on weekends. We don’t get that in Brisbane yet. Missed opportunity for RBWH to connect properly with the upgraded exhibition train station for CRR properly.

ALL of the existing bus way stations are TOO SMALL for the so called METRO and that system itself, will be seen as unsuitable for FUTURE requirements. A five section guided bus or TRACKLESS tram, call it whatever name you like, would be far more suited to Brisbane.

I agree, please see my comments to TRAM PAINTER, and I add that the cutback of a number of bus routes to start from bus way stations, will force passengers to STAND UP all the way on the so called METRO! I HOPE that the MEDIA highlight the errors made and have them FIXED. Forget an expensive rail based METRO. . . . . five section trackless trams would be very successful but no no no, we will have buses that LOOK like a Light Rail vehicle!

@@johncoyle777 yes I saw they are looking to put trackless trams in Melbourne south east on 9 news last night and the prototype sent from china was over in Perth being demonstrated. I agree I think trackless trams will need to be the next addition to Brisbane before 2023.

WOW, that is good news! Caulfield to Rowfield is the route. But I expect it will be a year or two before the project is built and in operation. I also expect a couple of LOW patronage tram routes to be replaced by trackless trams! @@JamesFFiT

One could be sure of two things. ONE a mere double articulated bus will NOT carry the CROWDS that will travel, as some bus routes will no longer go into the Brisbane CBD. TWO. As I have said, the current Bus Stations SHOULD have been DOUBLED in size, and a guided bus system with five section vehicles could be used!
