    Don't be bashing the folks that live and work in the Cariboo. The only reason that road is there is because of the loggers. There are many miners that log and ranch and vice versa. We all try to be respectful of all the users on the land 👍

    • @NorthPineOutdoors
      @NorthPineOutdoors 6 месяцев назад

      Oh trust me I have no issues with loggers /ranchers or miners, what I do have a problem with is the ministry of mines and the government holding every person and businesses up to different standards , if archeologist sites are so important than hold everyone to the same standard, I’m required to pay 15,000$ dollars to study arch assessments but everyone else can wreck the same piece of land without paying a dime? Since theyre made to be stacked and carry load on the corners, i wonder if it makes sense to put a steal plate on top and weld square feet on the plate at each corner to keep the majority of the weight on the corners. Or run steal c channel around the top perimiter supported by feet or spacers at each corner, then cover that with sheets of steel. Then build a similar structure inside with more focus on supporting the walls for backfill pressure.. idk just thinking out loud i know the roof caving in is a big problem and if you wanted more than 18 inches of dirt on top you may need more than a wood skeleton? Any thoughts?

    • @NorthPineOutdoors
      @NorthPineOutdoors 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah the more bracing the better, don’t think a person can put to much precaution into it, but definitely using some common sense on how much dirt to put on the roof will help, 4” of foam panels probably has the same R valve as a foot of dirt so don’t think there’s much need for more than 8 - 10 inches of dirt

  • @andyfunke9484

    I here you about the double a triple standard the B.C. government has. Farmers can put roads were ever they want, even on their crown leased grazing land, no archaeological study required. Loggers wreck roads, scar up the forest, are not required to do any archaeological assessments, because West Fraser has their backs, and the right politicians in their pockets. But placer miners like us, ha, we have our butt cracks flossed regularly. Some of the rules placed on placer mining is based on illogical junk science. Take the Barkerville area for example, it's already well known that the natives did not frequent, hunt, fish, or live in that area, but yet every time some one wants to placer mine ground there, they have to do another native study. Even if that ground had a study done to it before by a prior placer operation. I was told by an elder decades ago that natives never lived in the Barkerville area because it's covered in deep snow for seven to eight months of the year. Or as he called it, Barkerville is crazy white man's country. One group of people that also grinds the gears, are the outdoor adventurers, a good percentage of them are pigs. I have a small lake that my claims encompass, and in the summer I can pull a bag of garbage out every week. Love the shower set up. Cheers.

    You should have turned the container UPSIDE DOWN and then weld on the top (which is originally the floor) quarter inch plates. EVERY container's bearing capacity is on the FLOOR, not the ceiling. But you must reinforce first from inside with beams, then turn it upside down and weld plates to the roof from OUTSIDE to make it water proof. Plus,additional things. That ceiling will COLLAPSE with 1 foot dirt too. It is a casket basically because the weight bearing capacity is on the floor, not the roof. Anyways....

    • @NorthPineOutdoors
      @NorthPineOutdoors 9 месяцев назад

      Sorry been in the ground for 3 1/2 years and the roof hasn’t settled any , braced it up really well on the inside plus laid a layer of logs across the top to distribute weight, only used about 8 inches of dirt on top, just have to use some common sense

    • @davidtwister6936
      @davidtwister6936 5 месяцев назад

      I have a pipe at the end of my driveway. been there 35 years. If the container collapses then he did not bury it deep enough. I have buried a lot of gas tanks in my time too. This is all a lie cause they don't want a million people burring a container in there back yard cause it is so easy to do.

    You want the float gold (flour)on sand bars. Prospecting them to find the streaks of pay . Shovel wide trenches 2-3inches deep perpendicular to the flow of the river . . If you find a bit of a streak go up or down stream for a few yards do the same thing to pin point the streak . do not move your gear till you pin point a streak to dig. Flour gold does not like fast deep water in your sluice box . On the NSR you don't set up unless you have a 150 colors or more to the pan . My sluice has a wool blanket in it to catch the flour gold 95% efficient ruclips.net/video/mcl49rxf2qY/видео.html

      There’s always the recommended maintenance intervals in the manual but other than the gearbox and motor oil change there’s not much a guy can do in the first year or two of owning the machine, maybe make sure the belt tension is good. Of course it depends how many miles you put on also. As far as how the machine does off trail it totally depends on the rider’s ability, if you know how to ride a sled through the trees in deep powder then you’ll do just fine. Put a novice on the best mountain sled there is and he’ll have nothing but problems getting stuck , good luck
