This was a nice throwback! I started playing SIMS with SiMs2 so I have not seen this version before now. I loved playing SIMS 2 most since I was able to make custom worlds using Sim City

Nope, you are not the last person in the world to figure out your tip of the day. I had no idea of that.

I would recommend placing dumpsters in the areas in the areas that you mostly play in/frequent. Have you ever heard of the T.O.O.L. Mod? It allows you to place objects of lot. It can help with decorating the environment around your lot and it can allow you to place useful items like grills and playground equipment if you have kids.

What is your favorite activity to make money in Rags to Riches?

Such a great idea for a Rags To Riches challenge! Honestly, I LOVE what you're doing with this playthrough. The whole FEMA camp concept is really interesting and the lot itself looks great. Plus, having the Goths in particular working their way up from nothing... **chef's kiss!** I can't wait to see where this goes. In my current game -- which was partially inspired by watching the Fallout series and which I'm not recording, just playing for fun -- I'm doing something similar with an extreme Rags To Riches style challenge, though I started mine with all the lots in the world bulldozed to the ground, a handful of sims, $0, Off-The-Grid and Simple Living, and nothing else. Assuming my save file doesn't corrupt somewhere along the way, my plan is to have this initial handful of sims rebuild the world from complete scratch, using only what they can farm, fish, scavenge, dig up, afford to build, and, er, procreate. It's still early days and sometimes feels like I bit off more than I can chew (though, tbh, so far it's just a lot of fishing, farming, and raising babies), but I'm interested to see what kind of world it evolves into, what the buildings end up looking like (since I only build out of necessity, not style, and only when they can afford the materials for additions), and what the world dynamic looks like when everyone is descended from several main bloodlines/families. Like, which family will end up being the wealthiest? Which one will end up being the most powerful? The most artistic? Etc. Next time I try an extreme Rags To Riches, though, I may try something like your FEMA camp idea. There are SO MANY great stories that could spring out of a concept like that!

Great episode! I liked the way you tied up the series with Bob & Betty getting together. I look forward to your Rags to Riches with the Goths. I think the biggest challenge for the Goths will be adjusting to a life of poverty after being so affluent for years. I'm curious to see how you play it.

I have not finished the week 6 challenge. For some reason I have thrown 3 different parties and have still not figured out what I am doing wrong. It won't register the party.

Should the family trust the new government?

I would store lots of "shower in a bottle" from jungle adventure. These are water bottles and the sims can clean themselfes.

Into Day 2 of full Bunker Sheltering. The family moved down a week ahead of time to start preparing. But, finally decided it was ' Disaster Day 1, and took the door off. No more quick trips into town for supplies and knitting wool. The family, so far, seem to get mostly upset from the dirt and cold. Starting this at the end of their Winter was probably not the brightest idea.

Fast growing crops like radishes, lettuce, kale, bok choy I would start first. Then potatoes, beets and turnips. I can't seem to get carrots to grow, so I would not risk the space for those. Then the rest would be dependent upon the season really. Green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, some type of squash, fava beans, strawberries, mint, basil, oregano and other healing herbs as well as some sort of brassica like broccoli or cauliflower. I would also start trying to forage for mushrooms and other things to make tea with such as goldenrod, mullein, dandelion, plantain and comfrey.

What would you plant in your survival garden?

This is one tough challenge! I definitely agree with the majority of the comments that alcohol, medical supplies and cleaning supplies but I would also trade some of the canned goods too. Really great episode. Liked it a lot. Poor Bill. That was sad.

I would say that alcohol, medical supplies, fuel, cleaning supplies and equipment such as trash bags, shovels, etc..., lumber, food, and bottled water, is just a bare minimum list of things that could be traded.

Alcohol and basic medical supplies. I imagine that hygiene products might be useful as well.

What do you think the best items would be for trading in the post nuclear war?
