Does nobody else find it strange that Cranky Kong, the og Donkey Kong, is an extremely old man, yet Mario and Pauline haven't seemed to age a day? At least 40 years have passed in universe since Donkey Kong, and Mario has appeared the same age since that game. Is Mario eternally 35 years old? Are all the humans immortal as well?

Its definitely in an alternate timeline where all this wacky stuff exists, but some things are mostly similar. As for the name? I dont think the city was named after DK, I think DK was the one named after the city. Just my theory though 😅

Id like to think that the "humans" in new donk city are actually more like creatures like in the other kingdoms. Lile mario and peach are real humans and the citizens are... Something else. Its not hard to believe the creature people are governed by a human (Pauline) though, cuz if u think about it princess peach rules over the toads.

I don't think the advertisements are anything that makes the city weird if your ok with me saying this, it's like how cities like New York just have tons of them in times square. Considering that their also throwing an important festival where the mayor herself is gonna perform, it's necessary to get the word out. I'd say that this was the most normal thing about New Donk City.

Okay so this is just me going off some theory and off my head information that might be wrong but i just happened to remember hearing The mario that fought cranky wasnt our mario but jump man, an in the same way cranky is related to dk i think (dont quote me on this it's basically a game theory) jump man is related to mario (maybe his dad idk) an that Pauline might also be a relative of mario (a theory if jumpman is marios dad and Pauline is JMs romantic interest, that would make Pauline Mario's mom) Also if Pauline is the same one from the OG game, let me say that she aged way better than cranky kong

Yeah it makes sense that some games don't have a lore reason since.. their own lore would have to make some leaps to justify it (ie some Overwatch characters are explicitly enemies yet in PvP work together as a well oiled machine)
