How to get rid of spider mites
If you have spider mites on your indoor plants, don't worry. In this video I show you two effective and simple methods to get rid of spider mites. The video covers:
1- How to tell if your plant has spider mites
2- How to get rid of spider mites
3- Ladybugs against spider mites and other pests
If your plant's leaves have white or yellow spots and are going dry, take a closer look. If you see tiny specks of black, red, or orange, your plant probably has spider mites. There are more large-scale and agricultural solutions out there but this video focuses on dealing with spider mites on indoor plants/house plants.
I hope these methods will help you to save your plants. Please subscribe so you don't...

ZZ Plant/Zanzibar Gem Propagation using full/partial branches & leaves (Zuzu, Zamioculcas)
Просмотров 18 тыс.4 года назад
ZZ plants (zanzibar gems, zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as zuzu plants) are quite easy to propagate. Whole branches, parts of a branch, or single leaves can be used for zz plant propagation. All 3 methods work, but (spoiler alert!) if possible I would recommend using full branches, since that method has the highest success rate. Zanzibar gem plants are some of the easiest to care for and h...
Pruning jade plants (crassula, money plant)
Просмотров 494 тыс.4 года назад
Sometimes jades need a trim so that they can be both better looking and healthier. Like most succulents, jades (crassula, aka; money tree) tolerate pruning pretty well. But still, there's no need to make more cuts than what's best for our plant. And it's not good to unnecessarily traumatize the plant, or interfere too much with its natural beauty. In essence, we should only cut the problematic ...

How to plant lychee seeds (See Description before watching)
I've grown a lemon tree from seed, and beared fruit. Took like around 5 years to do so, only to die due to frost.
Ah that's terrible @eal4361! Sorry to hear that. I hope you will try again and grow more. Take care
What type of lemon are you growing? Thanks.
Hi @bwang5176, I did not graft a specific type, just grew my plants from lemon seeds (and as I said in the video, citrus seeds are not always true-to-type) so I am not sure what type of citrus I am going to get -no fruit so far. Take care
Soooooooo, i guess planting and gardening is my new way to cope with life
It's a good one @mariageorgieva5418, welcome to the club! :)
This was the best explanation on doing the cutting. Can I use soil outside for the plants or should I be worried about bugs if I do that? Thanks!
Thank you @squirrelattackspidy! I'm glad you found the video helpful! Soil from outside should be just fine. I use soil from my backyard all the time. Grab what you need and you can kind of turn it over and stir it up a few times, and unless you see any larger bugs or worms -which is not likely at all, but check just in case, it should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck, and take care!
Nans got one of those and i must say im not a fan at all,you only have to touch it and the thick rubbery leaves drop of,ive completely cut it back to next to nothing, with just 2 shoots at the top,and now there is new groth starting from where ive cut it back.
I'm sorry you're not a fan of jades @fishwars5979. It's ok, different plants are appealing to each of us. Hopefully yours will look and behave better after your pruning. Take care!
Thank you so much 😊👍💕
Thank you @aprilblossom9268! I'm glad you liked the video and let me know! Good luck with pruning your plants!
Can this survive fully submerged underwater in aquarium. Like the leaves and everything
Hi @waatao9856, I'm not sure. I wouldn't guess so since pothos is not an aquatic plant but I personally don't have any experience with it so I researched it online and there seems to be conflicting info. Some say they do ok fully submerged and some say they only survive temporarily, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months, but they eventually die. You can see for yourself if you like and if you do please let us know. From what I've seen all I can say is they'll be ok, but temporarily. Good luck
So helpful! Thankful I found your page as a jade plant newbie… appreciate you!
Thank you @stoneymuggins! I'm glad you found it helpful! Best of luck with your jades, and feel free to comment and ask any questions you might have even if they're not related to the videos. Take care
If im propagating the stems in water, do i need to wait 3 days for a scab to form on the cut stems before placing them in water ?
Hi @FC-7704, I'm sure you saw, I answered this under your other comment but I'm pasting the answer here too in case others want the answer: "No, it's just better for putting them in soil. You don't have to wait to scab them to place them in water. I would recommend scabbing and soil, but even if you want to propagate in water, I would recommend putting them in soil once they've grown viable roots. Either way, good luck!"
@@AGoodLife Thanks so much for explaining! 💕
@@FC-7704 No problem! :) Take care
Awesome video! I have a very young plant that has been growing well for the past two months (central florida) Some of the leaves are getting brown at the tips or getting some scalloped edges. Is this an indication that I am making mistakes with watering? It is in the shade all day but it's very warm and humid all the time.
I have my cuttings in water, the roots look amazing. Looking forward to potting and them growing well. Thank you for this great video ❤
Thank you @lynnelowe8461! I'm glad the roots are looking good and that you found the video helpful! Good luck and much success growing them in to healthy plants!
I don’t do any of that. I sit the seeds in water for a few days and then plant them and I have grown loads of lemon plants
Hi @FireT-yg9oc, you don't have to do it this way. Putting them straight in soil will work too, as it does in nature. These methods are used to improve the odds of successful germination only, like you setting the seeds in water first, not really necessary, but I'm guessing it would help. I will try out that method too and see how well it goes so thank you for sharing. How long do you keep the seeds in water?
Thank you for this video, I didn’t peel my seeds beforehand but I’m sure that will be fine.
Hi, thank you @angiecats5298! You are right, peeling the skins of seeds is not really necessary but it seems to improve the odds of success some. I'm actually right now working on a video comparing seeds with and without skins. It should be out soon. Take care!
@@AGoodLife I’ll definitely be looking forward to that. Thank you ☺️
Can I put a bit of compost in the bag around the napkin?
Hi @gardencitygrowers9313, I wouldn't recommend it because it's better to keep the wet napkins as clean as possible. Otherwise, any additional dirt or compost may increase the likelihood of mold developing and wasting the seeds. Good luck, and take care
@@AGoodLife Hi, thank you 💯👏🏾👏🏾
Did you keep it in shade for the first few weeks so it doesn’t burn in hot weather or dry?
Hi @martiantv805, they don't need light before they grow leaves and they don't need direct light for some time when they grow leaves, just a bright area. So, yes, I keep them out of direct sun at first. Take care
Have you tried to grow seeds even with the skin? They must do it in nature, don’t they?
Hi @eiramu, you're right, you don't have to peel the skin of the seeds, of course it will work like that too, like you said; as it does in nature. But peeling the skin seems to improve the odds of successful germination a little bit. I actually did a test comparing peeled and unpeeled seeds and I am about to upload that video in the coming days. Take care
@@AGoodLife yes please. I got a bunch of seeds growing after peeling them but I have a load that I’ve been too lazy to peel yet and I was looking for experiences before I waste them 😅 thanks!
What is grafting?? Please explain.
Hi @christinelyons8402, basically, grafting is a pretty common practice among fruit tree growers. It is done by attaching a branch from an already-fruiting tree to another tree, called a "stock" tree. The stock tree is usually a young one that would take many years to bear fruit on its own, but grafting shortens that time and makes the stock tree 1-grow fruit much sooner 2-ensures the stock tree grows that same kind of fruit. There are various grafting methods. You can find out more online about how it's done. Take care
While tranplanting lychee it gets separated from seed. Will it grow?
Hi @zeenatfatima7707, if it already has developed some roots and leaves, it would probably survive and continue to grow. Good luck
I'm having the hardest time with my Jade plant 🪴 😩
Sorry to hear that @cherylboyd5548, what's the issue you're dealing with?

Thank you from San Diego.
You're welcome TheSanDiegoSteve. I hope you'll feel better soon
I'm trying to grow lemon trees, the seedlings leaves are looking wilty?? What should I do???
hi @goldenwhisper66, sorry to hear that. Wilty leaves happen most often due to under-watering or too much sun. Don't keep them in direct sunlight for a few weeks and make sure you water them some every few days. Check your pot's weight and soil. If the soil completely dries and the pot feels really light before waterings, increase the amount of water you give them. Take care and good luck!
Nice video dear
Thanks crafts and gardening!
great

I'm the only guy here doesn't wear any clothes while sleeping 🥲
Hi kyncha, if the pain is bad enough, it might be worth putting a shirt on for a while. Either way, take care and I hope you feel better soon
How do you cough i am in so much pain when i cough and i cant handle it.
Thanks! I've got a few large jade plants that are overdue for pruning. That's why I'm here, and your video is helpful.
Hi smart451cab, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Take care and good luck with your jades!
Great video I can try to grow them here in Ireland 😁
Thanks Robert Stoker :) I'm in northern Europe myself. You can grow it indoors like me and maybe even keep it dwarf in a pot by pruning and training (otherwise it may eventually need its own room!)
Did you leave the leaf sitting for 3 days also?
Hi Ayushi Suman, yes, leaf or a branch, it's best to let it scab over and dry for a few days before putting it in soil. (It's not an absolute 'must', you can put them in soil right away too, but it will be more vulnerable to diseases and take longer to root.) Take care, and good luck!
Never new that Pothos plants were known as the money plant. I repeating what the guy say in the video. But cool! Had these plants since I was born. Thats Why Currency comes so easy😂! Have a great year
Hi Save The Earth, actually a few different houseplants are sometimes called the 'moneyplant' the pothos being one of them. I'm glad you're doing ok in the currency department. Take care, and keep having those money plants around, I guess! :)
Question!!!! If I cut it at a shorter length than 4 nodes, will it still bush out from there? I want some diverse looking jades and one I want to be extra bushy!! But I want to be wise with it too
Hey BagDiscEnergy, it should be ok, but I wouldn't do that too many branches, and I wouldn't go shorter than 2 nodes. You can experiment and see what happens but if you want to maintain your plant's well-being that's what I would recommend. Take care and good luck!
@@AGoodLife you’re a legend 🙌
I had to stop watching when he said “you might plant a tangerine tree and get a lime tree” wtf…. And never take seed coat off lemons. It causes premature growth and leaves will be yellow to light green. Idk why but just is
Hi Kallie, I am not saying “you might plant a tangerine tree and get a lime tree” in the video, I'm saying "you might plant a tangerine SEED and get a lime tree” since citrus seeds are not always true-to-type, as I explain in the video. I've heard both pros and cons for peeling the seeds before germinating them. I'm actually right now working on a video comparing 50 peeled seeds to 50 unpeeled seeds to test some of those claims. It should be posted in the coming days, if you're interested.
Did it produce lemons?
It is doing well, and stands over 1.5m/4 feet but still no fruit... Soon I hope though. Maybe next year... :)
Thanks for the idea, initial this was worst pain scenario for me too, but for now I am total avoiding the pain of getting in and out of bed, buy sitting slating on a sofa with a pillow, this way ur almost straight and can sleep and pain is zero during getting in or out. How long did the pain og getting in or out of bed last ?
Hi Reny Dev, I am glad that is working for you. Each break/crack is unique I'm sure based on severity and location but for me, the real painful part was the first few days, then it was painful for another 2-3 weeks but a little less so with each day and this method really helped me. So if you miss lying fully flat, and once you get a little better and get in bed, you can still use this method. Even though it may be more tolerable by then to get in and out, this method will still make it less painful. Take care and get better soon!

I love your plant videos! I hope you make more!!
Thank you so much Olivia! Your comment made my day! 🙏I will try and make more.
Since these plants don’t grow true to seed… what have your fruit results been like?
Hi Morris & April, I still have the big plant that's in this video, it is now close to 1.5m tall (5 feet) but still no fruit. I never grafted though, and without grafting it may take 5-8 years to get fruit and it's just getting close to the 5 year mark. Maybe (hopefully!) I'll see some fruit in the coming years.
@@AGoodLife That is super cool! Let us know what happens. Lots of people still have great fruit from citrus, avocado and apples anyway.
@@MooreLegacyFarms Thanks :) Will do!
I have a question, I have a sampling lemon tree, just a year old and it's started getting warmer so I've started to put it out, I've only done it about 2-3 times but each time the leaves are curling and drooping, today I brought it in after about 3-4 maybe 5 hours of sunlight, it was direct sunlight and it started drooping, it did recently get watered but it did dry out today in the sun and I've given it a little water, is there something I'm doing wrong as last year when I was growing it, it was outside in direct sunlight all day and grew fantastic so I don't understand why it's struggling now.
Hi Flamer997, sorry about your lemon tree drooping. The most likely cause is underwatering of course, but check the soil to make sure that it's not too wet. Overwatered and underwatered citruses tend to appear similar. If you don't think it's a watering issue, another culprit may be too much sun. Plants take a while to adjust to new conditions and the bigger the plant, the longer that may take. So since your plant is larger this year, it may take it longer to adjust to being outside. (Again, assuming it's not a watering issue) I would recommend putting it outside for shorter durations each day and gradually increase that time. Good luck, I hope everything goes well.
how much water do you give them once you have transferred them from water pot to soil pot? I know they don't like over watering but is it different in the beginning?
Hi Solomun Crablert, once I put them in soil I start watering them once a week from the get go - just slightly more generously the first couple of weeks. Good luck and happy growing!
It needs more pruning
Thanks for keeping it short and sweet
Thank you Char Vanders, I try. I'm glad you liked it and let me know.

Please tell me where I can get citrumelo 4475 seeds. I can't find anyone who sells them anywhere. Thank you
Hi Jan Matejcik, I don't have a place in mind, it would also vary depending on where you live, but if you want the fruit I would recommend looking for "citrumelo 4475 grafter" rather than seeds. If you are interested in growing them as rootstock, you can find "citrumelo 4475 rootstock" more easily than seeds, and if you want to commercially grow and sell rootstock yourself, I would recommend checking with your countries agriculture ministry/office. Good luck
Can jade be propagated with a stem with out leaves?
Hi Judy Wyatt, yes, the success rate would be lower than a branch with leaves but since the green branches/stems themselves do photosynthesis as well, it is possible to propagate a jade stem without leaves. Good luck and take care.
Thanks👌🏻
Thank you FACTS NOT FAIRYTALES, I'm glad you liked the video.
So my citrus seee can suddenly bear orangefruits ..?
Hi Lars J, not "suddenly" but yes, a seed from some lemons can grow to be an orange tree, or a seed from an orange can grow to be a lime tree, etc. Some citrus seeds are not "true-to-type" and that's basically what that means; you may plant the seed of one type but it may grow to be another type.
How the heck am i suppposed to breathe
Hey CIsntSharp, I am really sorry that you're in pain. Painful rib movements sometimes force people to take shallow breaths but it's important to breathe in deeply especially to prevent chest infections and to clear mucus from your lungs. So as much as you can stand it, you should try taking in deep breaths. If you are in a lot of pain, kind of hugging yourself with or without a pillow will make taking deeper breaths more bearable. Also, keep in mind, this situation is temporary, you should be feeling less and less pain with each day soon. Good luck, and take care.
Where do you find seeds? Thanks very much for this video. Also what do you use to feed it?
Hi Raise Our Eye View, I collect the seeds from the lemons we buy at home, but you can use any citrus seeds. So if you buy any lime, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, etc, you can collect their seeds and propagate them the same way as I show in this video. Good luck!
