A few years ago I put together a modest system for home. Victron Energy 2kw inverter, 200AH lifepo4 battery, and a Honda 2200 gas generator. It's setup in a UPS configuration to protect some computer gear, but I wired a manual transfer switch to use for heating, refrig, lights. Works great for the occasional outage in the burbs.

This is REAL!!!! Thank you so much. Damn scary. I was thinking of driving my 2024 GMC 3500 Denali Ultimate and pulling my new 30000# 5th wheel flatbed! Probably not a good idea LOL. Seriously, you definitely need to utilize a customs broker (Transmigrates) and customs agent (Agente Aduanal), and be able to show notarized titles, insurance, a Pedimento Aduanal form with manifesto listing your items and serial numbers. I think I would hire somebody that knows Spanish to ride along, in case things go south. Still, a new truck going south of Brownsville on Route 180 would look pretty inviting to the cartels. Think I'll hire a shipper, have it inside, and have plenty of insurance. Great video.

Your video is very informative. Although if you move into Belize as a "permanent resident" there, if you bring a list of items with serial numbers, the duties at the Belize border are not collected. (to my knowledge). But a regular visitor you may run into extreme duty fees.
