It’s tough call if anyone says it’s not close either way then they aren’t privy to drums and or they are Neil fanboys. Danny is my #1 then Gavin Harrison then Neil but u can argue Neil being #1 for sure. If u look at this without bias, then it’s really close but I’ll say that Danny is the really only logica choice to fill Neil’s shoes if Geddy and Alex want to tour or record an album. Stewart Copeland and Gavin Harrison might fill that void well too but I think Danny’s style is more along Neil’s with the polymetrics and polyrhythms whilst playing in odd time signatures
