Thank you for reaching out. I do not amplify my Calabash. I used the shure MV88 mic for my RUclips video. The one tip that help absorb the acoustics of the calabash is to place it on either a cushion, a rug or some type of carpet. That helps bring out the nice bass sound out. If you want to use a mics you can use two mics one under the calabash for the bass and one over it for the “tak” and slap sounds. Not sure if this answer your question but feel free to ask if you need anything. Thanks

I place mine on a carpet or a rug to absorb the extra acoustic and bring out the bass sound much more. If your calabash is smaller you can place on a cushion. That works great as well. Thank you

@@emmanuelzerbo975 Malte Marten is probably the best if you are looking for flow. Been playing for 15 years myself and your biggest improvement would be to work with a softer touch. You are "drumming"

@@Nilz4FR that is absolutely right. @MartenMalte is definitely one of the best Handpan player if not the best in the world right now. I’m taking classes from him but just like you mentioned I’m more into percussion and drumming which leans a bit toward David Kuckhermann style. I love your suggestion tho. I have been playing only for about a year and half and I will definitely work on softer touch. Cheers ..🙏🏿🙏🏿
